All of our instructors were so skilled, kind, and helpful. I had only had a tiny bit of experience with firearms before taking the Women's Introductory Firearms class and I learned so much. Our class had 16 students (women), and three instructors: Luis, Andrew and Rosi. The instructors were experienced, comfortable and confident and provided excellent information and encouragement. The class included gun and safety education as well as hands-on practice. The instructors went out of their way to provide information and guidance. Whether you own a weapon or not, the class is excellent and will benefit anyone. Tip: if you are sensitive to loud sounds, you may want to bring along some noise-canceling equipment. The class is held at the end of a beautiful canyon with multiple groups practicing shooting, so it can be a little loud, but you will feel very safe. read more

If your a woman who's considered owning a gun but don't know where to start and/or feel too intimated by the male dominated classes this is your class! Started with the introduction to firearms last month which helped us get rid of our fear of firearms and today we took Women's personal protection class which just solidified our desire to own a gun for personal protection. Both classes taught us about gun safety and each built our confidence about the use of one. If you're hesitating DON'T. The trainers are very patient and friendly and don't bully you into learning techniques but individually show you when your technics are off. Initially my daughter didn't want to take the class for fear of shooting a gun and now she wants to own one. Highly recommend Sheepdog Women's Intro and Intermediate courses. Intro course provides the basics of gun handling & gun safety. It seems so intimidating at first and yet comfortable because all the other women in class feel nervous in the same way. The instructors are super patient and kind. We practiced handgun and rifle and even got to try a shotgun. Guns and amo were included. Home invasion and defense scenarios are discussed. Intermediate women's course had us review basics and then learn new skills which all build on each other. The pace of class if good and instructors make sure you can do the skills before moving on. We got to shoot a lot more than Intro course and got to bring in our own gun for practice. This was invaluable because I practically got 1:1 instruction on handling and problem solving my new gun. If you have always wanted to learn and feel more comfortable around guns, you should check out their courses. Super fun with family or a group of girlfriends. My friend, Lynn, and I attended the "Women's Introduction to Firearms" yesterday (June 1st). It was an awesome experience! Even though I have fired different types of guns before, I have never had instructions for proper use or handing of firearms. I went to their Women Intro to Firearm TODAY and the class was amazing. I have shot previously before with my husband but I felt I should take my own class to learn how to better improve. The class was informative and what I greatly appreciate was they taught both by us watching them and then doing it yourself. Even though it was a group class, they both gave all of us ladies one on one training and corrections. They made us reasonable of loading our own magazines. Best place to take your old English Sheepdogs! They do basic training classes the first couple few times. They have a large field with a rabbit on a string machine and my dogs loved it. Took them a few times to get the herding techniques down. Make sure to take pictures you will love it. Then when the advance the release sheep and train the dogs to properly interact and herd.
