STAY AWAY! By far one of the WORST "resorts" I've ever stayed at. For starters we were here for my SISTERS wedding and our entire family has had cottages and houses and half the inn booked out in advanced a year ago...only to find out 5 days before our arrival half of our cottages were now taken from us and the only way we found this out is because WE called just to confirm. Not a single person from management or their staff had called to notify us that we no longer had a place to stay including the father of the bride. But it gets better, 2 days after arriving to Maine we get charged for these cottages/houses that was taken from us that we weren't even staying at!!! So we called to rectify the situation only to have the cops called on us and the manager Tom screaming and yelling in our faces and physically come around the counter to get in our face. Beyond unacceptable on any level and Tom continued to handle the situation in a violent manner in front of other guests I've never seen my family treated so poorly during what should have been the best and more memorable weekend. Now those of us who did stay there and were staying at the Inn had absolutely disgusting rooms full of stained carpets, no pillow cases on our pillows, and a dirty bathroom. When the maids would come to "clean" they didn't even touch a single thing besides make our bed and empty the trash but left us to replace the trash bags. The pictures they post on their website make this place look relaxing and nice and clean and it is the complete polar opposite This property has such promise due to the view and good location to so many wedding venues but this place from the management to the owners to the staff needs to be shut down. Never again, If I could have given them no stars I would have. We had such a terrible experience that we have all since been in contact with the BBB because there is no way this place should be allowing humans or even animals to stay here.

We stayed in a very quaint and adorable room. It is peaceful and well equipped with everything we've needed.

The manager forgets to pay her employees. Do tip your housekeeper well! May be all the get paid before they quit.

Atmosphere, if you can secure a table overlooking Boothbay Harbor it is a beautiful setting. Service was excellent, greeted at the door and our server was very knowledgeable about the menu with excellent recommendations and service. My wife had clam chowder, which had was creamy and a little brown. Not sure what was in it to give it that color but it was very good. I had four very large shrimp cocktail, which were fresh and cold . My wife for her main course had the lobster Thermidor and I had the roasted chicken. Both were outstanding.

Buildings need to be maintained. Our building had paint peeling off the railings and possible carpenter ant infestation in the wall by building Bluebird. 3. Breakfast service.....I like water in the morning....each day I had to search out and ask the waitress to refill my glass. 4. Nobody told me at check-in that the room would only be cleaned every three days.....we were only there four days. 5. Food.....eggs Benedict was spicy and not pleasant to the eye.....it had a vinegar taste......primavera at dinner was mediocre. Thick and pasty. We will not return.

There are a limited amount of spaces in front with zero room to maneuver your car to fit in a space. There is a public lot right next door for a fee and hopefully you'll get a space. We were in the Waterfront King Suite. The room was lovely and had a great view!! However, getting hot water was inconsistent. We had noisy neighbors who we could hear using the hairdryer at 6:42am, and shouting down the hall and slamming their door at 7:30am. At 10:45pm there were sounds like chairs being dragged over hardwood for about 30 minutes. They do give you an opportunity to order breakfast that is delivered to your room and a time you specify. However, both days I had rancid milk for my coffee. I wrote a note to the staff after the first morning, and they served spoiled milk to me again on the second morning!! The food was also vastly under seasoned. I ordered the quinoa bowl both days and got two totally different dishes. And, my wife's potatoes were completely burnt. So for the money we spent on the room, I cannot recommend this place due to parking, noise, and food quality.

While the accommodations are first rate, the staff is even better. Everyone is cheerful and ready to assist in any way possible. Sam and Eva get special recognition for their tireless efforts in suggesting restaurants and activities in the area. The wife and I can get pretty demanding when it comes to restaurants and they made it their mission to not let us down. Mission accomplished!! After three glorious days at the Inn, we leave with some trepidation. How can the accommodations for the rest of our trip measure up to this?? On hind-site, we probably should have made Inn by the Sea our last stop instead of our first. Oh well, you live and learn.

I had eggs benedict and it exceeded expectations both in presentation and taste. My wife had the largest fruit salad I have ever seen served and chock full of fresh fruit. So full we took half with us. Warm blueberry muffins with blueberry butter are always delicious. It is a Maine tradition. The 2 year old enjoyed a pancake. The service is always attentive and the dining room is always warm and inviting with it's view over the grounds to the ocean.

While the rooms were a bit dated, you come for the breathtaking beauty of the Maine coast, not to spend all day indoors. Over the years we've stayed in the Driftwood, Dockside, and Overlook buildings. This was our first visit under the new ownership, and we stayed in the Islandview building. I can definitely see the improvements being made around the property. From what I've heard, the Dockside has been renovated, and the Driftwood has also received some nice updates. Unfortunately, we weren't able to stay in either of those buildings this time. The Islandview rooms could still use some updating, and I'd probably rename them "Treeline View" since there's only a minimal view of the ocean. That said, one unexpected highlight was the wild blueberries and raspberries growing just off the back deck. The kids had so much fun picking them! We made the most of our stay, spending far more time outside enjoying everything the area has to offer than inside the room. The staff was wonderful--friendly, welcoming, and always helpful. Breakfast was delicious and very much appreciated. My only suggestion would be to start breakfast at 7:00 a.m. instead of 8:00 a.m. I'm an early riser, and although I was told coffee would be available at 7:00, I wasn't able to find it. Overall, we had a wonderful stay and are already looking forward to coming back. I'm excited to see how the property continues to improve under the new ownership. You truly couldn't ask for a better location on the Maine coast!
