So far from what seen while walking through part of the school and some classrooms, it was clean, had engaging and educational decor, and definitely seems like a place I would consider enrolling my child from what I've experienced if I were to go the route of public school (due to her age I'm currently homeschooling).

One year my daughter had 3 different teachers. Each year they seem to have all new teachers and staff is constantly coming and going- other than about half of the teachers who are all related to the owner. The school is family owned which can contribute to a family feel of the school overall. However, if you are not related to the family, personal friends with the family, or volunteer with the school, your child and your family will be outcasted and excluded. Only some kids are invited to play sports. Kids they do not want on their sports teams are not even invited to try out. The principal/owner Mr. Diller regularly yells and swears at the kids. He is demeaning and borderline abusive to the students. Candil Hall also allows bullying and in some cases promotes or praises students who bully. Children who are bullied are not protected by the school. They get no help even when they feel so unsafe they don't want to go to school. Student to student threats are not taken seriously. It's incredibly disappointing the lack of concern and support shown to children at this school. While my child did leave there more advanced academically, she also left there with psychological trauma, fear, distrust of schools and teachers, and overwhelming feelings of confusion because she felt so unsafe in the place that she should feel the safest. I regret ever sending my child to this school and wish I could undo all of the trauma Candil Hall has caused her. Additionally, if you ever have any issues with the teachers, the staff, the family, etc. you will be talked negatively about and they will spread rumors to other parents about you. This school is not worth it, please look elsewhere.

They have a Thanksgiving show, Christmas show, end of year party/celebration, and other fun stuff for kids and parents. My daughter is going into 4th grade now, and she still remembers this place and her teachers. Pretty incredible since she was here from ages 2-5. Very friendly, family oriented staff, that takes the time to get to know you and your kid(s). I think the bad reviews for this place are from "Karen's" that won't be happy anywhere. Great place overall! My daughter (Tonantzin) misses this place!

For starters, my son's teacher, Mrs. Grace is an amazing teacher who has what it takes teach while making it fun for them. The class was organized, communicative, and I felt so at ease knowing my baby was in their hands. Now he is in the Ducklings with Ms Alyssa and I can't say enough positive things about her and her teaching style. My son has learned so much going to this school even though he has only just turned two, he is counting past 10, reading letters, coming home with new learnings every day. We are excited to continue to watch him grow and develop at Shenker.

Back to update my review after my daughter graduated from the infants class! I have never known…read morekinder, hardworking, knowledgeable, gentle and caring individuals in my life than the staff in butterflies infant class. They truly care for the babies like they are their own! I have referred multiple families here to Shenker including my own family members! I can't thank the ladies in the infant room enough! My daughter is ahead of all of her milestones, walking by 1, and is doing great in the next class. The ladies put so much love and care into engaging the babies and helping them learn and develop. I'm so proud of my little one and how far she's come since we first enrolled her at 14 weeks. All of those ladies deserve all of the kudos in the world!

I truly appreciate the communication from his teacher, the IEP team, and everyone involved. They have always made me feel like we were working together to help my son thrive. The school also does an amazing job creating fun events for families, like the book fair, Books & Burgers, the Halloween Bash, and so much more. These events make learning exciting, and my son genuinely loves going to school. I feel incredibly grateful that my son was selected through the lottery to attend Somerset Academy Lone Mountain. Thank you to all of the teachers and staff for making his kindergarten year such a positive and memorable experience. We are excited for first grade!

My baby attends this school and she will not be returning next year. Today they went on a field trip where they walked to the Santa Fe to watch a movie. All the kids parents and teachers where there walking with the kids. After the teacher which I won't say her name but posted almost 20 pictures of all the kids sitting down eating their popcorn and having a good time. My baby wasn't in not one of those pictures to the point I had to call the school and ask was she even there. That upset me so bad and really there is nothing they can say to make me understand this. I would never send my kid back to this school I thought I was sending her to a good school but this school is not it. I'm very disappointed.
