I walked in planning to spend maybe 20 minutes max just to buy a few souvenirs, snacks, and a few things to take home to my kids and family. Shortly after I walked in, I was approached and told I wasn't allowed to be there because I came in a semi truck. I explained that I was only going to be inside for a few minutes to buy a few items, but I was told they would not allow me to purchase anything. I was also told, "Unfortunately truckers are not welcome." Those were his exact words. That was extremely disappointing to hear. Truck drivers are a huge part of what keeps this country moving. We deliver the products businesses sell every single day, including the products sitting on Buc-ee's shelves. To be told we're not welcome and not even allowed to make a purchase is sad and frustrating. Because of this experience, I will never return to Buc-ee's again, not even in my personal vehicle. I'd much rather spend my money at a truck stop or any business that welcomes everyone and appreciates the people who help keep America moving.

They also have a good selection of cold beverages and on a hot day, that was welcome. The gas station side of the store is distributing Exxon products but beggars can't be choosers. There aren't a whole lot of gas stations out here. The store is clean and easy to navigate. In addition to the usual snacks and drinks, they also have a neat selection of gifts and some local canned produce. I thought the pickles and peaches were a neat touch and they are reasonably priced. And they are the only place I know that correctly calls "sausage kolaches" as their real name--Klobásník--or Klobásníky (plural.) but don't expect those to still be there. On a weekday, they might still have these Czech treats until 3 pm, but on the weekends, they go fast! Always friendly staff and i just love looking through their home decor. They have the cutest little tchotchkes that are locally crafted and so wonderful for home, garden, or lawn. I have bought many a christmas and birthday gift on the way. Great metal art as well! The bathrooms are always clean and smell fine. I highly recommend stopping at least one time to see everything they have to offer. It's a true, "small Texas town" stop! Oh, and set the GPS! My elderly mother lost her phone there about a month ago and this girl not only brought it to the back and called my sister from it, but she charged my mothers phone for her!! Like whaaaa whose that nice? I wish I could remember her name, its something like Carla I think, or maybe not. Idk how gas stations work but please give her a raise- her hospitality is off the charts and for a gas station? Near Houston? I mean shes awesome, way too cool for you guys. I went into the bathroom and I don't like to throw around the word disgusting, but Jesus, it was filthy. Most of the stalls did not have working locks, the toilets haven't been cleaned since the 1980s (I mean I hope that's the explanation for how awful they looked) and even the diaper station had a layer of grime on it. I was so skeeved out. I was starving, so I took a peak to see if they had any hot food and there were two breakfast burritos left over from hours before and that was it. I assume their selection is limited because they are connected to a Subway. While looking at the questionable sandwiches I heard the employee relinquish the counter to a customer to man while he went to the back. I was just passing through the area so for all I know they are very close or this is normal for the area. However, upon hearing that I turned around and left- too weird and unprofessional for me. At least we were able to get gas. As we got back on the road, southbound, I saw a Buc-ee's on the other side of the highway. I suggest going there if you are in the area.

The coffee section is well stocked, and if you're in a rush, don't worry because there are barcodes on the coffee cups that you can take straight to the self check-out.

They even have self check out registers!! Gas is priced on par with everyone else. The whole establishment is clean and organized. This Giddings spot is tiny but mighty with a small deduction of the normal beaver fare, clean restrooms and drink stations, and a fair amount of pumps. However, they lack the quality I have come to expect. Specifically, the coffee station gained my ire this time. The last 2 times I have stopped here, the coffee was bad. Like Circle K bad. Burnt and tasteless. And they lack the space for the cold creamers to hide the flavor. The carafes are too low to fit a large cup under so you have to tilt them, risking hot coffee split across your hand. At least it isn't as hot as McD's.
