Certainly not the best Shell, but rarely crowded sespite being off Burbank Blvd/Lankershim Blvd/Tujunga Avenue I've stopped in for a beverage on the go and yes, it's not the warmest reception for sure. The Denny's across the street is possible one of the least enjoyable in the area, so this intersection of businesses (mainly on the corners) leaves a lot to be desired. Gas is pretty high everywhere in Southern California, but a little less here, being one of the only gas stations on the block. Recommend other Shell locations, over just filling up at the pump. read more

I went to cash in a $30 winnings on a scratcher at 9:15pm. The guy in front of me was his buddy joking with him the whole time and bought $20 worth of scratchers in $5's. I was buying a protein bar ($4) & $15 worth of scratchers and asked for just $10 in cash back. The employee pr oceeds to show me a $20 bill and says he can't give me $10 he only has $20 so I ask for the $20 and he points at the clock and says it's 9:20pm I can't do scratchers. I take my scratcher and he can't even scan the barcode on the protein bar so I tell him to forget it all. I walk back in to see him helping the next person with a hand full of winning scratchers. I will never give this location business and will make sure everyone I know in LA does the same thing. The credit card readers never work, and even if they DO decide to work, it makes you go inside to get your receipt, the staff are mean, and they charge you 0.25 to use the bathroom. I give this station no stars if I could but i have to to post so 1 !!!! service was absolutely terrible !!!!! The owner is extremely lazy and slow not to mention when they don't want to work they just put up a sign saying be back in 5min 10 min but they stand behind the counter. Literally at the register talking to each other and chatting. Went to get gas today with cash and wanted to pay and he turned around looked at me and then the sign said be back in a bit and turned right back around leaned on the register to carry on with his friends. Denied me service!!!! Also there's no prices on any of there items so you can't decide what you want and they make up prices when you get to the register. WILL NOT BE GOING BACK TO THAT STATION EVER AND I WILL BE REPORTING TO SOMEONE HIGHER UP. So no I give no stars there was no effort and they are extremely rude!!!!!!! read more

My first negative review but after 2 customers treated poorly and I the third I felt something should be said. For the record this is a Shell station not 76 as listed. Worst service ever. Man rung me up under the name Susan not himself. I had mentioned I felt he was being rude and unfair to his customers and continued his behavior with myself and others after. If I could give negative stars I would. This place was near a hotel I stayed in so I walked across to grab a couple red bulls and bottle water. First off my girl and I had all this stuff in our hands ready to check out the cashier said they don't have bags. So we asked for a box to walk back across the busy intersection and she said no. So we purchased anyway since hotel water especially suck... Smart water was $4 each!!! We asked for straws she handed us -1 we asked for a couple more she handed 1 more and said they don't have anymore straws... No straws (selling slurpees though like I guess customers supposed to sip out cup no straw no lids...wth... No bags... In the middle of our fiasco A customer came in to request the air being turned on guess what?! No air it was broken. No bags, no straws no air dang...... I totally agree with the others. Unfortunately this gas station is the only one within walking distance from my work. Otherwise I'd never, ever patronize it. The owner is a terrible cheapskate. That's THE only gas station I've been to that refuse you matches, plastic bags, paper towels and squeegees. They don't take manufacturer's coupons ( pretty sure it's unacceptable). Honestly should be 0 stars. The owner or manager of this 76 gas station was incredibly rude to both me and my wife. When I asked to exchange a lighter (that didn't work) that I just purchased, he went mental. Wouldn't exchange it and declared "That's why it's only a dollar!" Seriously? The guy working was very rude, I bought some food to snack on and it was stale and discolored. He wouldn't let me exchange it or get my money back. He pointed at the date on the wrapper to show that it's not expired. That doesn't mean the food is still good! He pretty much tried telling me I'm stupid, and said "I can give you another one for free". What do you mean? You have me something bad! Of course you should exchange it! ATM ISN'T WORKING!!! Worst service!! On February 25 I went to put gas and to use their ATM to get 60 dollars, I put the info it is required and accepted the 2.50 charge, then the machine told me the money were dispensed and NOTHING got out! I asked the lady who was in charge there and told me that the ATM wasn't working. Today that I saw my statement from the bank it says that 62.50 are pending as if I got the money. We frequent Costco gas, and we would've went to Costco, if we weren't so desperate in getting $10 worth of gas in the car or else you'll find us at the side of the road. I live near this terrible gas station. . 1. Gas is always higher than most places. 2. As long as I can remember, they don't have paper in the pumps so you can't get a receipt. 3. They never, never have a squeegee or paper towels available. What's up with that? Today, I went in to ask for a squeegee, and the owner game me some lame excuse about not having them. So the ONLY person who gave this Shell station more the the obligatory 1 star talked about using the service to get their car fixed, there is no service area at this station, so they have the wrong place, everyone else with a 1 star had it right. Subpar service, over priced (even for connivence store) and they cut corners which may save them a penny, but looses customers. First no squeegees or towels at the empty at the station. Sometimes people need to clean windows! I have no problem paying for air & water, but really you can provide a simple paper towel? Shell would not be happy! Second, if you use your Ralph's Rewards, which is the only reason I would have gone to this station they don't print a receipt at the pump even when you ask for it. You have to go inside after your transaction a get a receipt. Maybe you always do, they save 1/100th of a cent by not printing receipts at the pump, most people probably just say forget it, but some people need a receipt for tax proposes. How cheap is that? So I've given you a try, you've jacked me 3 times, you're out. I'll use a cheaper place that doesn't cheap out in basics, and find a better Shell when I'm using Ralph's Rewards. read more

If I could give 0 stars, I would. I just pulled into this gas station to get some air in my tires and I put 4 quarters in the air machine like it says & it wouldn't turn on. I went in to the store to let the clerk know their machine isn't working & she said she can give me a number to call the company to let them know & that I could get refunded my dollar. WHAT? I'm not getting paid to call these people to let them know the machine is broken & needs to be fixed. I can care less about a dollar, it's the principle of the whole situation. I gotta say I agree with the others. This place has to be pretty bad to even think of reviewing it on Yelp. It's a gas station for God's sake... what do you really expect right? At the very least some semblance of service, and out of order signs if something doesn't work. When this was a 76 the service was horrible, and I stopped going here after 3 times that I had problems. When it changed to Shell for some reason I thought the ownership had changed. I needed air in my tires so I went here to use their machine. Instead of going inside and asking them to turn on the machine I decided to just pay the 75 cents since I wasn't getting gas. The machine worked and I was able to fill 2 of my tires before the machine went off. I went in and asked the clerk to turn the machine on since I had already paid for it and it didn't stay on very long. She immediately appeared annoyed with my request, and started babbling about how the machine doesn't work. I told her that I was just using it, and it worked when I put money in it. She said that she couldn't turn it on from the inside and as far as she knew it was broken. Then she said that I should have come inside to make sure that the machine wasn't broken. At this point I was starting to get frustrated. Normally when you patronize a business, if something is broken there is a sign on it that says "Out of Order". She looked surprised when I told her that there wasn't a sign and said, "oh well.. somebody must have taken it off... not my fault". I didn't like the poor customer service so I asked for the phone number to Shell. She says, "I don't have it". I'm like what do you mean? YOU'RE A SHELL STATION!! How do you not have the number to Shell? At this point she just shut down and clearly just wanted me to leave. I asked for my money back since I paid for a service that was not completed. She of coarse told me that she couldn't give me my money back. I asked for the manager name and she said, get this... "there isn't a manager". At this point I'm getting to shocked point. I asked what her name was and she refused to give it to me. I could go on about her lack of help and customer service, but I'm getting pissed just thinking about it. THIS PLACE IS HORRIBLE. I have just moved into the North Hollywood area where this 76 gas station and food mart is located and thought it was great, because if I ever need anything fast I could run over there and get it. I went over there today and bought a Ben and Jerry Chunky Monkey and a icecream taco. I noticed in one of the freezer units that the icecream looked like it had been thawed and refrozen so I went to the second freezer unit and picked up the icecream taco and the Ben and Jerry icecream. I got home a couple of minutes later and started eating out of the Ben and Jerry container to find that it had been thawed out and refrozen. I immediately rebagged it and took it back to the store. It had not been more that 20 minutes since I bought the icecream and the orginal clerk was no longer on shift. The clerk that was there had been there when I bought the icecream, but refused to give me a refund because it was bought on the other shift. She told me I had to come back when the other clerk was there to get a refund. She actually told me to go home and put it in the freezer and come back when he was there. Of course she couldn't tell me when he would be back. I told her I didn't have the time to be wasting running back and forth hoping to catch this person. I had my receipt and card right there but she refused to refund my $4.25 purchase. I was a first time customer and the last. I will not be going back to a store that treats me that way. read more
