Don't go to this Arco location. I wrote a review of this station a couple years ago and thought they might deserve a second chance. I filled-up there today, and I can tell you, it's just as bad as it was the last time I went there. The gas price is no longer the highest of major gas stations in the area, but it's not the lowest either. If you pay with a debit card they still charge a .35 cent fee (normal for Arco these days), but what steamed me this time is (unlike every other Arco I've ever been to) (and Arco is my preferred brand) these guys won't give you cash back! Instead, they point to the ATM outside the front door and say, get your cash there. Of course, this would mean paying the debit card fee twice (and then profit for the station owner on the atm machine). NO THANKS and NEVER AGAIN for this Arco. read more

This Arco is recommended to do business in the day time. The night person is the worst I experienced in my life. I am disabled I finished getting gas and I asked if I can use the restroom and when I asked him he spoke to me very rude and talk to me as if it is the owner and felt stupid. All he needs to do is say I am sorry it has been changed to only for employees. This shows me this person does not care about any customer except for himself. Claim to be open until midnight, but they aren't. For some reason, they leave the pumps and lights above the pumps on after they close down. More than once I've come in to fill up and it runs my card, but then no gas pumps out. If you shut off your pumps at night, shut off the lights and the terminals as well. I have been coming here for 15 years and today was just beyond my lowest expectations. I went inside to pay for my gas and buy a drink with cash. I do have a receipt. I had one of those days and I spaced out and drove off without actually pumping my gas. I realized it 10 minutes later and immediately turned around to come back. I called the attendant and told her what happened and that I was on my way. Upon my arrival she tells me that someone else pumped my gas and there was nothing she could do. She refused to give me her manager or owner's contact info. She told me there was a policy of non-responsibility posted and gestured at a wall where I did not see anything specific. I told her my situation and if she would please contact someone who had the the authority to help me out. My crappy day went from bad to worse. She said "too bad, so sad" and told me there was a corporate number posted on the building. I told her I've been coming here for 15 years but it made no difference. I'm sure the cameras can show what happened. In any case, I'm not only disappointed by the loss of cash/gas with today's insane gas prices but the horrible way I was treated. Everyone is going through something, you don't treat people this way. She is a callous person. Her name is Esperanza. I wonder what happened to the money? I want to like this Arco so badly! It's at a great location and the prices are reasonable. However, so many of the pumps have issues taking your debit card from your iPhone Wallet and/or reading the chip, so you have to insert it. It's frustrating that the pumps look like they support a safer technology, when they ultimately don't. read more

this arco usually has the best prices so i typically travel quite a few miles to fill up. I guess they close their door at 11pm, which unfortunately was when I got there. I saw the lady inside lock the door as I was walking up. I truly didn't know if my car could make it to another gas station, I was so in need to at least put $10 in. I proceeded to knock on the door just in case she would take my $10 cash (which was all I had, i just needed to make it home.) But I think Armand (sp?) has earned a special place in the Yelp Negative Review category. Congratulations Armand! Since you unnecessarily decided to act like a VILE, DISGUSTING, RUDE, HATEFUL PIECE OF SHIT you have earned Arco a one star review...so here goes. Over time, I have popped by this Arco to have air checked in my tires...it takes the person all of 30 seconds and they have always been pleasant and have always done this free of charge. There are several places in town that will check your tire pressure and fill your tires with air at no charge. In fact, there are so many, that I could choose from several. This Arco is in my area and since they have always been so helpful in the past about checking the air in my tires and putting air in them and not even think of charging me for air or 30 seconds of their time, I decided to stop by there today. BIG MISTAKE. I pulled my car in and the mechanic (Armand) was not working on a car, there were no customers around, so I thought this is great timing to ask him to check my tires. Granted, I had never seen Armand there in the past, it had always been another mechanic, but since I had gone there several times over the years to have my tires filled with air which is not very often at all, I didn't have any reason to think this experience would be any different. After he has spent 30 seconds of putting air in my tires, I thanked him and was going to be on my way. He then turned to me and said, "That will be $5 for the air." At first, I thought he was joking around with me. I gave him a puzzled look and then I could see he was serious. I then politely asked him when the station started charging $5 for air (which by the way, I think is a ridiculous amount). I mentioned that I has stopped by this very Arco to get air in my tires throughout the years and have never been charged. I was more puzzled than anything else and my demeanor was pleasant. I guess he didn't like that I dare question him about anything, because he then starts being VERY RUDE with comments like, "I have been here ten years and I haven't seen you" (as if I was lying about coming to this Arco) and "I don't work for free" (yeah, this asshole is actually being paid by Arco, so of course he doesn't work for free, so his point being?). He then continues his meltdown, saying that he doesn't want my $5 and don't try to give it to him, which makes me suspect that the jig is up and that Arco doesn't charge for air in the tires and perhaps he is charging people when he shouldn't and he is pocketing the money. First off, if a customer comes in and ask for air in their tires and there is no sign indicating there is a charge for this service, that the customer should be told upfront about the charge. In the end, I took $5 inside to the cashier to give to him. In fact, I walked in to tell her that Armand put air in my tires and as I was handing her the $5 and she acted as if I was tipping him, which also makes me think that he is pocketing the money that he is not supposed to be charging customers. Armand has been reported to the Arco headquarters...I think it's only fair that they know what kind of people that have out there representing them. There is a special place in hell for people like Armand and hopefully he finds his way there sooner rather than later. read more

This Arco was cheaper than any of the other gas stations in the surrounding areas per Waze, once we got there it was easy to pull in and exit areas. They only take cash and debit cards, so be aware of this if you only have credit cards on hand. We had a free Yelp check in offer of an 8 oz bottle of Arrowhead , they were out of arrowhead, so the clerk told us to choose from any of the other brands of water. Standard gas station convenience store merchandise, a bit cramped when it came time to pay the line was bottle-necked on either side of the register. When in question of gas prices when traveling check the waze app, it's more up to date, as it's updated by other users. read more

Poor customer service here. Tried to use card at pump, which said it wasn't working and to go see attendant. Go inside to see attendant, Melissa, and tell her I want to fill up on pump X. She rolls her eyes and states "You're supposed to do that outside", sighs and says "Well how much do you want in it?". I guess because "fill up" was too vague. I return after filling up because I'm am due some change. I show her my receipt and she states snappily "I don't need that." I accident told her the wrong pump number because I have not memorized the pump numbers at this gas station, so look to receipt to see if the number is there to which she replies "I still don't need that." Their prices are consistently the lowest in and around this area. The pumps are all clean and easy to use. They recently upgraded their pumps to allow credit and debit cards to be used right at the pump rather than at a center island location - much easier and faster. They charge a 35 cent service fee when using a debit card, so I make it a point to only go there when my tank is low and I'm going to fill up; adding 35 cents to the purchase of a few gallons of gas offsets the gas' low price - adding 35 center to the purchase of 20+ gallons raises the net cost of the gas by less than 2 cents per gallon, still making it the cheapest gas around. A sign is posted on the store that reads, "Lowest Gas Price in Burbank!" Yes.... and it's one of its few pros. As people have stated, the cashiers are generally well-mannered. But there is one lunatic there. Her hair is disheveled, and she has a thick Spanish accent. Earlier this year when I walked in she said, "hello!" Me: "Hi! Let's go with--" "HELLO!" "Hi." "HELLO!??!!" "Yes... Hello. I've said 'hello.'" "YES! AND I SAID 'HELLO!'" Um... So today I was unfortunate enough to see her again. Like most people, I wait for the total amount to display before I insert my debit card. At the *exact moment* when my total was displayed, she yelled, "DO EET!" I've also experienced the pumping problems to which Yelpers have referred. Sometimes their pumps either operate at half speed or shut down completely. I won't return to this location for a while. My advice: go to the Kwik Serve that is just a few miles north of it on Hollywood Way. I appreciate the response by the owner, but I'm sticking with my original review. Over the past two years the station has gone downhill. For example: * One of the pumps facing Hollywood Way has been broken for at least 4 months and has a tacky piece of paper glued to the front that says "Cash Only". * The pump handles were replaced and no longer have locks so that you can not lock them in place when pumping gas - you must hold the handle up the entire time. Not a big deal, but I like to clean my windshield while pumping gas and I can do this at any other gas station. Which brings me to - * Supplies to clean my windshield. The squeegees are old and broken, there is not much water in the squeegee buckets and where there is its usually dirty - never any soap. * And finally, a few months ago they allowed some company to go pump to pump and try to sell some sort of windshield cleaning and repair service. I let them know I wasn't interested but they wouldn't stop bothering me with questions, wanted to know who my insurance company was, examine my windshield for cracks, etc. I just wanted to get my gas and go. DO NOT GO THERE UNLESS YOU WANT TO TAKE A RISK OF LOSING YOUR MONEY AND YOUR PRECIOUS TIME AND SANITY. THEY ARE SO DISHONEST AND CHEAP. DON'T TRUST THEM WIHT YOUR HARD EARNED "CASH". (I say cash because that's when the human error happens when the clerk manually enter the money for the pump. Pump's malfunction is another issue too.) I paid cash inside and came out to pump gas, but the pump didn't start. So I went inside "immediately" to let the clerk know, but she just printed out the receipt of last transaction on the pump and said I pumped $30 already. I kept telling her "I just paid and came right back as you know. The pump didn't even start and the display still says 0 gallon and 0 dollars pumped!" The clerk kept looking at pump 6 when I asked her about my pump 10 not giving me gas. Hmmm... I wonder why. Perhaps she put my money in a wrong tank but didn't confess? Or did she forgot to complete the setup in a timely manner so the system "timed out" before the pump got ready for me? Unfortunately (with my luck...), the last transaction (the previous customer before me) on my pump was also for the same amount, $30, so now they are just telling me that's my receipt. It was obvious that the pump hasn't started though, so the clerk took a photo of my pump showing 0 gallon and 0 dollar and texted to her boss, but the boss just said I pumped the gas if the inside system says so. He also added, "Do you know how many people lie about this kind stuff?!" to me ... which is accusatory. (But actually, his remark also suggests that there are more incidents like mine happening here and people are complaining. (Seriously, do you really think everyone is lying? Gosh!)) I called the police officers who then confirmed that the pump says 0 gallon and my gas tank still being empty when I started the engine. Guess what? Now they are now telling me my gauge is broken!!! OMG!!! I just lost $30 in less than 2 minutes and nobody even police officers who saw what happened said it is a civil matter so can't help me. Then one officer used his "credit card" to put $5 of gas into my car, and the pump worked - because it was "credit card" not "cash" which had to be manually entered by human into the system inside the shop. And yes, my gauge moved fine. I was simply accused of lying and got swindled for $30. Pump never lies - you will see the total amount pumped displayed and it stayed displayed until the next person uses it. EVERYONE KNOWS IT WILL SHOW YOU HOW MUCH YOU PUMPED ON THE DISPLAY IF YOU REALLY PUT GAS IN YOUR CAR!! Mine said "$0.00" on it with the nuzzle still stuck in the gas tank. IF IT SAYS 0 GALLON AND $0, I HAVEN'T PUMPED ANYTHING YET! I bet my unfortunate case is not the first for this place, as the manager says "many people" have reported this kind of situation in the past, which is hard to believe every claim is a lie but the manager think so and doesn't refund anybody money. At the end of long, wasted hour/efforts, they accused me of lying and just swindled me successfully. The manager even lied to me saying he will text me who I can talk to. He never texted me back. Can't really say much about this gas station other than the prices are decent. I believe this used to be a Valero and not sure how long ago it changed. This gas station is on my drive so the convenience of the location I like though there are times I have to drive late at night and the location is closed. It would be nice if there were someone behind the window at later hours since I have driven by here late at night with the fuel light in the car already on. This location does not have an AM/PM so I'm not sure if that is a factor as to why it the lobby closes late at night (and since the light are off it would be my guess that the Island register is also closed...which I should check out next time I'm there late at night) or if it's another reason such as its just Privately owned and that's their hours. read more
