This place completely met my expectations - okay I didn't use the facilities so I won't comment on the conditions inside or outside the stalls lol. I didn't buy any nuts, honey or candy so I don't know or care if those items are pricey I would assume they are since this is a roadside Stuckey's type business with a different name with or without the pecan logs and pecan divinity. I actually love the old building and nostalgic gas pumps and these baby's pump your fuel at a record breaking pace I guess this old technology isn't so bad after all even if I do have to walk twenty feet to pay inside - I pumped one hundred and forty dollars worth of gas without have to enter one bit of my personal information - no zip code - no PIN number - no car wash option - no reward membership - no prepayment guarantee this transaction was strictly based on the honor system like it should be - you provide a service or commodity and I agree to pay you for those, sounds pretty simple to me. The staff was very friendly and we interacted during the credit card transaction. This experience felt like transactions did a few decades ago and gave me the feelings that I have long ago forgotten since people don't talk any longer - the pay at the pump options may save a few minutes and a few steps but I'm not so sure I need to save a few minutes and I certainly could take a few more steps. Old school shell gas pumps which adds a great nostalgic feel to the place. Though you cannot use a credit card on the outside, it still makes you feel comfortable being there. They are based on TRUST, which doesn't seem to happen all that often these days, as they allow you to pump your gas first, then pay after your done. Being from NY, I would have expected a lot of "hit and runs', however the staff noted that they rarely get a runner. Inside the store is a gigantic array of tourist items from nuts, to t-shirts. My favorite one was the Tommy Hilfiger colors, however the slogan read "Tommy Hillbilly". They carry a great amount of different items from you to choose from, and the pricing wasn't as expensive as some of the other 'plantation style' rest stops. I was really hoping to find some local fruits down there, however they didn't have any fresh foods, all were premade or bagged. The one turnoff was that there was a huge road sign that advertised "Cleanest bathrooms", however the bathrooms were not all that great. The mens room were very old style stalls with 4 foot urinals all the way to the floor. The bathroom didn't "smell", so if that is what they meant by 'clean', then i guess they were right...however to advertise as one of the cleanest on a huge billboard would be a lie. There were a lot of 'gnats' and 'fruit flies' flying around, however with the lack of real fruits, it makes you wonder where all these flies were coming from, or where they were going. (must be a garbage area nearby). They are located in a very convenient location, so as soon as you get off the expressway, they are right there on the corner. This allows you very easy access to get back onto the expressway, without having to go too far. read more

I'm genuinely intrigued by how this place exists...it was perfectly adequate for a gas station & restroom stop, but it's a rather large building selling jams, jellies, sauces, touristy t-shirts & knick knacks, and some overpriced, cheesy decorations. They didn't even have much of what a normal convenience store would have- they only had 1 small cooler of drinks, and a small shelf of auto items (oil & such). For as much as they advertised their large clean restrooms on billboards for miles and miles, they were neither particularly large, nor particularly clean (I mean...they were adequate and certainly not filthy, just dated, grungy, and of an average gas station size). It's a little awkward having to enter through a turnstile, then exit through a different door. read more

Pecans are fresh and tasty yet a bit pricey. Bathroom has interesting signs over the urinals. Wide variety of candies, including peanut brittle, sauces, spreads, plus Georgia souvenirs. Priced a little expensive but the pecans are really fresh. Gasoline is also sold. read more

The outside does look like a plantation which is different from other typical gas stops, and the vintage working gas pumps are a neat thing of the past. But other than that unless you're looking for some classic tourist souvenirs, I would probably keep driving. The "clean restrooms" sign needs to be taken down. I walked in the women's restroom and right back out. Smelled horrible and not clean. 6 of us stopped here on our motorcycle trip to the mountains of northern Ga. and beyond because of a approaching severe thunderstorm. I had no idea what was inside, but was glad it was there nonetheless. I thought it was an interesting place with all the food items to buy. I saw things in there I never though existed, like the Garlic Jelly for instance. Yes, the gas pumps are dated and you have to go inside to pay, but that didn't matter since it was about to rain. Anyway, I've seen bathrooms much worse than theirs and I mean MUCH WORSE!! That's what happens when you're a road warrior. Overall I enjoyed the place for what it was. I don't know if I'll ever go back, but if I need any Garlic Jelly, I know where to find it. read more

Road tripping along from Florida to Nashville can be treacherous for three metropolitan girls traveling alone, and not for the reasons most would think. Our main concern was how many la croix we could consume without being unable to access acceptable bathroom facilities. You could understand our delight and joy having stumbled across the Shell Plantation House chain. We were greeted by the world's friendliest trash can- googlie eyes and all! Brilliant touch! As we entered the doors to the artfully constructed building we were greeted by two of the facilities finest employees with big smiles and good mornings. We felt instantly at ease as we proceeded past the rows of artwork and local favorite delicacies and descended upon the ladies restroom. As we opened the door to our destiny with trepidation we were overly joyed at what laid in front of us. Four stalls of clean toilets complete with toilet paper ready for our use. We happily did what we came to do, washed our hands at the clean sinks. We breathed deeply noticing the mango scent coming from a strategically placed airwick that brought us to an island paradise. Almost gave only four stars for a couple of reasons. Number one for massive pothole that almost encompassed our rental Kia and the concern we felt with the rodent control device affixed to the wall. Also almost knocked off a star due to the Turnstile exit that proved to be a slight embarrassment that we couldn't figure out but with a flushed quick goodbye to the staff we are back out on the road without fear of consuming too many of our favorite carbonated beverages. Albeit these minor issues I stuck with the well deserved 5 stars. Absolutely brilliant will return! read more

This is a Shell gas station with a local store on site. The gas was a bit more expensive but the selection of local nuts and even better local honey was pretty good. They also had what seemed like cookbooks which were self published and maybe even self printed with southern recipes. Interesting little place. They do not sell your average snacks though. Do be ready for that. You will however get every manner of hillbilly memorabilia, nut candy, pork rinds, t-shirts and wooden signs. Along with your typical tourist souvenirs. I'll likely stop by this little place on my way through to get the honey and jams and such. Might have to spend some time looking at those cookbooks next time too! read more

Old shopping spot on 75 that never changes anything but the prices. Pecans advertised for $3.99 are actually fine ground pecan meal. This shop is the ultimate in bait and switch. They advertised on billboards along I 75 for their various locations saying they have a bag of oranges for $1. What you get is two oranges in a small plastic bag. There are much better places to stop than this one. read more

We stopped here after our kid got sick in the car. No regular gas station items like cleaners or towels. All just a gift shop here. When I went in to see if they had garbage bags explained my situation and asked if they had garbage bags she said No and acted like I was bothering her. They really keep the theme of the Plantation House here. The pumps do not take cards. How authentic! I guess they want you to go inside so you'll be more apt to buy some of their overpriced jams and candies. It's not worth the stop in my opinion. You can find much of that stuff at a farmers market. Maybe they should cut back on the billboard budget & use that money to update the gasoline pumps. read more

While I love a tourist trap, this "plantation" is merely at metal building with columns. I would play along with the whimsy if anyone whatsoever had Southern Hospitality - but this too is not the case. You will see large signs reading "Clean Restroom". On the day I visited I walked into the men's restroom & right back out. It was disgusting. On a good note, there are plenty of sweet treats to choose from. Nothing is made here, all packaged & shelved. I purchased a child's t-shirt for $5 , a bag of peanuts & some peanut brittle. If you are traveling alone, this place is fine to stop- but don't bring your family thinking it will be a good place to use the restroom & unwind. After all, it's only a gas station. read more

I now have all my family members stopping also,...5-6 trips a year at either Magnolia Plantation or Plantation house. After 8 doors locked, person inside refused to even acknowledge all the people outside. After her finally answering the phone she was rude. I am glad this business can afford to lose the 3 gas sales and whatever sales the other 5 people would have made in their business. Didn't use the restroom. Don't understand the bad reviews based only on the bathroom. The gift area was old-fashioned but I went there for the pecans, etc which were really good. Picked up the lo-cal powdered peanut butter for a friend who loves the stuff. I haven't tried it. read more

I love this place. Every trip down 75 to Florida since I was a kid, we always stopped there for candy and the stuff ya just don't get in Ohio.
