A major distributor of gas should be staffed well why do I say that well because it's 2025 and you could sit at home right now and play video games and not talk to a single person for weeks and no one would even be the wiser so if someone goes to a major distributor of gas and pays a lot of money for the gas and expect this major retailer to have window wiper Towels, available to wash the windows while they're pumping their gas, I don't think that's any overdose of demand for this kind of business and that's what I got when I pulled in this morning trying to fill up my car with gas at a Shell because I feel good about the gas that's getting put into my car and it's not going to damage my systems as much as a cheaper gas station And then there are no towels so I go in and I asked the person that's working the desk inside could I have some towels? We don't have any towels I said OK so why aren't there any towels? This is Shell right? He said he didn't know. He didn't understand first of all because he's not up on his English enough to understand me asking this simple Five worded question why are there no towels next thing he says here and he hands me a rag I said I don't wanna rag. I just wanna know why there aren't any towels. There should be towels. He had no answer if you think I'm going to standby and not put a review up here so that other people can be heard this is what I'm doing. I'm spending my time so that everyone knows this is not acceptable. Have some towels or get off the market your name is Shell. You should have some towels available to wipe your windows. I'm not just here to pay for gas like a poor minded individual who is just so grateful that there's actual gas to pump into my car. I am not ready for poverty. They had propane for exchange, and they were very friendly. Their gas prices aren't the best though, you can get a better deal at the 76 further down Lombard. read more

AVOID THIS GAS STATION AT ALL COSTS. Like with many of the commenters, this gas station also stole my money. I put in my credit card to fill up gas at a pump but then canceled the transaction (before filling) to move up to a different pump. Someone started filling up behind me, evidently on my card (because it didn't actually cancel, though it said it did). It's been three months and Shell has ignored my calls and ignored my bank in my efforts to get refunded for the $107 transaction that wasn't mine. They don't care about their customers and lack basic human decency. DON'T GO HERE! read more

I was shocked today when stopping at this Shell gas station at Laguna and Loombard streets, SF, for gas; I selected the only open pump, registered with my credit card, lifted the pump, realized after some minutes that no gas was forthcoming, replaced pump, register said my auto was filled with 40 gals of gas, my car doesn't hold 40 gallons and my credit card had been charged according to the readout on the pump for $45.00 I went to station window, the man there told me that that #4 pump didn't work had no gas to distribute. I told him my credit card had been charged, that was no sign that the pump did not function, he yelled at me, told me that it was closed and that charge on my credit card must have been the last person's charges, he proceeded to assure me that there would be no charge on my credit card. I then came home to find my credit card had been charged $125.00. FRAUD AND DAMGEROUS FOR THE PUBLIC, DO NOT EVER GO TO THAT SHELL STATION AGAIN. Shell Company not interested in report, instructed me to deal with it through my credit card company. Can't make police report until tomorrow. read more

Getting gas in SF is a pain and always has been. So if I can pull in and the pump works, that's one star. Store was empty and locked. Figured out why, the employee was using the head. No one could tell us it was out of order and my wife was waiting when he came out. Eh, it wasn't gross, that's about it. Some clown painting the sink when they painted the walls. No paper so opening the door was fun... I hate to think what it is like in the middle of the day. Good luck to you. Funny thing when I was filling up the next shift/manager came in. She was looking and pointing at us when we left. Based on what I saw in other reviews, maybe she was giving the employee a hard time that we used it. So maybe we got lucky. read more

This gas station stole our money. They lied about having a propane tank refill program and charged us $60 as a deposit and then when we showed up trying to refill it, they said "we don't do that anymore." This is a crime, plain and simple, and they should be ashamed of themselves! read more

Consistently the worst station in the city. Nothing really works properly and it's overpriced.

This place is tolerable, but has some annoyances. There is a person that seems to live in their car and that hangs out asking for money, which is a little annoying when you are stuck filling up the tank. They work the Laguna side of the station, so if you fill up on the Lombard side, you probably won't get hassled. Also, the pumps play incredibly loud and annoying commercials, which is really obnoxious. The place across the street doesn't have the annoying commercials, but their pumps' credit card machines are usually broken, so there's not a good alternative. Best bet is to keep driving until you get to another station. read more

I revisited the Shell gas station today, about which I wrote on 2/14 and found that they had updated their pumps, all were functioning, and I also wanted to report that my credit card had not, finally, been charged as the pump reported it would be, so Shell has not committed any offensive behavior, except for that one day's glitz. read more

I have two cars. While I can gas up one car here, I cannot gas up my JEEP! The nozzle will not fit snuggly. I have to use the Chevron across the street! Minor but annoying issue. As for the convenience store, the guy behind the counter has been there for years. Nice man, helpful and keeps a clean store. However, not being able to fill my tank here frustrates me to no end. What makes this place shine is the $1.89 enormous 24oz cup of coffee. It's perfectly fresh and they have real creamer. So, neighborhood regulars know it's a good place to get decent coffee at a great price...and a few of my friends favor this station because it has a better selection of smokes than the station across the street. I normally wouldn't review a gas station, but, well, it's the only gas station in the world I've frequented for anything other than gas! read more

Gas pump only had the diesel hose operational on the pump I was trying to use. Didn't realize until I has swiped my card and couldn't cancel the transaction. Station agent was trying to help by calling her boss, but all he suggested is that the diesel hose would ALSO pump the regular gasoline (? So everyone gets diesel-tainted gas?) No way, not gonna risk destroying my engine. Also kept saying the transaction could be cancelled from the pump when the cancel button was not operational. Finally after 15 min the machine seemed to time out, and I left to a different gas station. Another customer was having a different issue on the other side of the same pump. Ugh. Not worth the hassle. Go elsewhere to fuel up. read more

Just bought some gas there. As I was paying a worker named Delgado G or something came behind me and was like "don't stand in the entrance bro, do u see any fucking other way to get behind in the register area". I was taken back by how rude this guy was, it's like I'm sorry bro, I didn't see your 5'4 frame. He then started yelling at me about what a bad ass he was saying stuff like "don't look over here" "don't call me esse" (after he called me esse) "don't look for an excuse not to fight". I told him I was like "are u serious, aren't u getting paid right now, and your trying to fight me?!" This guy was really trying to fight me as soon as he got to work, after I had just bought some gas.All this cause I was standing in the way as he was coming into work. I kept looking at the assistant manager like " are u going to get this guy under control" and all she did was be like " come on now Delgado ". Worst gas station service experience in general, and that's saying a lot. This was on Saturday September 26th (2015) around 2pm so just try not to go when this guy isn't working (probably Saturday). And if u see him ( he looks like super Mario with a jerry curl) don't go in if you don't want to be treated with zero customer service. read more
