Last Friday I had an issue with a water supply line. I called Shellback Plumbing and Drain for help. We had several plumbing issues with the house that were all home age related (you live in a place for 17 years with our busy lives, sometimes things get neglected). Alex from Shellback came in, fixed a couple things with just a screwdriver and gave me a very reasonable estimate. The estimate needed one adjustment because another faucet needed replacement, but after two days of work (Alex started at 1:30 in the afternoon and left at 10:30 pm -- things did take that long). Everything is working well and all fixed. Alex explained everything he was doing, and even called me over to show me stuff that I was wondering about. Nothing secretive at all. Responded promptly to request for service to check for clogged outdoor drain, and I was able to get an appointment for the next day. Technician arrived on time and snaked the drain from the street with no issues. Looks like a major repair was not needed, thank goodness! But I did need a water regulator, and decided to have it installed--although that was an issue I knew I would have to address eventually, I decided to ask Shellback to install the regulator that same day, since the technician was available and had parts on hand. Although it was not a planned expense, I hope that decision saves me from repairs down the line. I would recommend this company overall, they have good and responsive communication with the customer and were knowledgeable about the work needed, and explained the issue clearly. This was my first time using Shellback and these guys were impressive! I called them at 11:15am and even though they gave me a 2 hour window of 12-2pm, they arrived promptly at noon. They fixed our clogged drain in our business within 30 minutes, cleaned up after themselves and billed us a reasonable price. This was my first experience with Shellback and not my last. We had a shower, toilet back up issue and needed help asap. I called Shellback and Eddie answered the phone. He was so helpful and said he could have someone come out that same day. Thank goodness because we couldn't wait for the next day. Steve came and he was very polite and didn't rush through his job and was able to get us functioning through the evening. He said there was a possible blockage and needed a camera to figure out the issue. He scheduled someone to return the following morning. Gary came out (didn't realize he was the owner until I wrote this) and he was also super nice. He was patient with me and showed me what he saw via his camera. He answered all my questions and explained what future repairs would be. He was not pushy and left us to make that decision. I asked for a estimate and he emailed me all the documents in minutes. I didn't see where he disputed anything I said. If I didn't catch it it would have been wrong and stayed that way, It took a week longer and a lot of my time created a tremendous noise and dust. My daughter in law ( who owns the house) is pregnant and has has toddler. So entire house had dust everywhere. Take this for what its worth. Hopefully this will inspire Gary and his crew to do it right and legally the first time . I really do not care if you use him or not. I did offer to pay but a reduced to compensate for my time and troubles and hiring of a cleaning crew This was not written to get out of paying but to warn future customers I just did this so future customers would take proper precautions. read more

We had our water heater go out on a Thursday morning and Shellback was available for a visit that same day. Sergio was very professional and polite. I told him I tried re-lighting the pilot myself but was unsuccessful. I later realized I was an idiot because I didn't know how to properly re-light the pilot. Sergio was gracious enough not to make me feel bad about wasting his time coming over. I asked him what I owed but he said not to worry about it and to call them if I had any other issues in the future. Although I hope everything goes smoothly from now on... These guys are the best for a reason. Shout out to Jared, our plumber, for going above and beyond to find the best solution for replacing our ancient tankless water heater. Jared arrived on time and masked for everyone's safety. When he diagnosed the problem with our existing tankless heater, he ran into a roadblock because the recommended replacement was out of stock and back-ordered for weeks. We were in dire straits but decided to wait for the model and features we wanted -- so we geared up for several more weeks of lukewarm/almost cold showers. That is, til Jared called later that afternoon. After leaving our home, he'd called every single one of their suppliers in the Los Angeles area and located a tankless heater with the features we needed, made by the leading competitive brand (which Shellback didn't normally install). He drove down to get it that night and installed it for us the very next morning. That level of customer service and support is the **definition** of going above and beyond. Shellback Plumbing was not the first plumbing company that our insurance company sent. I am thrilled to report that for this leak, the insurance company does not need to send anyone else! Eric arrived on time and was determined to repair this leak. His work ethic reminds me of how I was raised. This was a difficult to access job and he was relentless in seeing it through. We had not been able to use the upstairs bathroom for months while companies could not figure out the leak and one even suggested that it didnt exist! At one point part of the job needed an additional worker... there was a second Shellback truck in front of our house in minutes. Disgusted. Called to have our toilet and shower unclogged as the toilet was draining into the shower. I was working during their work so they left before I could check their work. I go outside and they had poured god only knows what all over my front lawn. We have an HOA that requires yard maintenance and I also sit on this lawn with my baby! I go in our bathroom and they left it vile with every piece if paper they unclogged still sitting in the shower! Absolutely unbelievable and unacceptable! read more
