I came home from work to a flooded garage and discovered the second floor shower was leaking. I called the next morning (it was midnight) and they came out within 20 mins. The had to remove drywall from my ceiling to get to the pipes. He found the problem immediately, had it fixed in 30 mins, replacing pipes and overflow drain all from the top of a ladder. He even cleaned up after himself. I thought the price was reasonable for the work he did. While there he fixed another problem for me, but I had to call them back for him to come back and change something. They came back within an hour and it took them less than two minutes to fix it. I'm quickly coming to the conclusion that there are no other plumbing companies in the world worth calling except Shellback. Today was the second time I've used them within the last six months. Last time, I had Eddy who was absolutely outstanding. I figured he was "one of kind" and even suggested cloning him as a way of solving all the plumbing problems of the world. This time the plumber's name was Julio and he was just as amazing a plumber as Eddy. These guys seem to roll out of Shellback's dispatch office like Seal Team Six ready to attack any plumbing problem with true grit and smile. A few months ago, I had to use a different plumber from my home warranty company because Shellback wasn't available at the time. OMG, I never thought I'd use the term "drama queen" to describe a plumber. This other plumber spent more time grunting and groaning about what he had to do than doing what he had to do. Each time I've used Shellback, the plumber came in clean, on time or conveniently early after calling first, put on shoe protectors so he wouldn't mark up my floor, had a great attitude and actually devised a plan to repair what was broken after diagnosing the problem. We bought a new oven over a year ago which was larger than our old one. The gas valve was not recessed so the oven really stuck out from the counters. I had a couple of issues ,one being the faucet in one of bedrooms was dripping and the second was one of the sprinkler system valves was leaking to the point that I had a small pond in the back yard. The plumber, Steven(not sure that is the correct spelling) showed right on time and quickly found the problem. He showed me exactly what needed to be done, and went right to work. After he had fixed both issues, he showed me what was causing the leaking in the sprinkler system, as this was the third time I have have had leaks in the system. I gave him the go ahead to correct the problem which he did. I paid what I felt was extremely fair, but got a cherry on the cake when the office called me and told me they had overcharged me for a certain part and they were crediting me back. I highly recommend Shellback Plumbing. My water heater tank started leaking water while I was at work. When I got home I called 2 plumbing companies who were quick to quote me a price without even inspecting my tank. I checked Yelp and contacted Shellback at 6pm in the evening. The person who answered was extremely helpful and advised me that he could not give me an estimate without inspecting my tank. So, he scheduled Alex to come the following day. Alex was awesome and most importantly, straightforward. Alex tried to get my tank working, but it was impossible. At that point I asked for a whole new tank. He asked when did I want the install and I gave him the date. On the date of the install, he got here on time and quickly began to work. 2 1/2 hours later my new tank was installed and my hot water was functioning perfectly. The price for the tank and his service was comparable, actually it was less then the quotes I received from other companies who just wanted to rip me off. On a Sunday afternoon, I found a lot of water on the garage floor. It turned out our water heater stopped working and released water through the pressure/temperature overflow. Normally I have a contractor who would replace the unit, which was actually 10 1/2 years old, but he's on vacation. Yikes, I have to find a plumber whom I don't know! I looked around for units online to get an idea on pricing for my 50 gallon gas unit. Prices were about $700. On the Home Depot site, I put in a request for a plumber. I also check with a friend who recently had this done, and with another firm I have used in the past. I got an idea for what the total price, including installation, should be. I got quick responses from several firms on Monday. I ended up speaking to Gary, the owner I think, at Shellback. He seemed knowledgeable and would give me a price over the phone. He mentioned a few items that had recently been added to the code, and which I might need. Nothing extra was very expensive. His technician, Danny, was nearby and I agreed to have him stop by, which he did in about an hour. I liked Danny to and approved the job. He did it in a couple of hours, cleaned up well, and left me a pleased customer. This was a positive experience. In the past, I've had a few unknown plumbers try or actually rip me off. Unfortunately, there are some dishonest operators in this business. We all know this can happen because we, as simple homeowners, really don't know much about plumbing stuff, or what things should really cost. This company deserves the 5 stars. I just moved into a new condo and needed plumbing work on the pipes for my washing machine. The building was going to shut down the water for the entire building at a pre arranged date. I asked Shellback to please be here at a certain time and not a window. He saw where the leak was and also showed me where the tank itself was starting to leak, which I didn't originally notice. He told me what the current code was for replacing water heaters in the Los Angeles area and the reason for the code. He said I could also check out online what the code was and I did. He was right about the code and the reason for it. He was quick, efficient, knowledgeable and answered all my questions in a courteous and respectful manner.
