After my experience today, I will sadly never buy from this business again. As a loyal customer for several years, I am extremely disheartened and hurt to have been treated so rudely today. My husband ordered a flower arrangement online that looked like our wedding flowers for our big anniversary (10 years together). A florist called to let him know that they did not have some of the exact flowers shown in the bouquet that he ordered. When he called them back after work the florist told him they would still give us a similar arrangement that would look nice. The flowers that were delivered to us were not similar whatsoever, missing white and lavender flowers, as well as eucalyptus and seeded eucalyptus. I can't attach a photo, but they were pink, orange, and bright purple. Instead of being told that our order wasn't possible, we were told that they already "made something nice" for us. My husband said that was okay as long as the bouquet would look similar to the one online. When the bouquet arrived, we truly thought the wrong one was delivered to our home. We called to sort out the issue and were told that we did receive the right bouquet, that this was similar to what we ordered, but actually more expensive. We asked to return the flowers for a refund since the flowers we received were nothing like what was wanted. I mean, when you spend $100 on flowers/delivery, you want to be happy with them! We don't spend that kind of money on flowers for something I don't like! Greg, the Culpeper manager, was extremely rude. He refused to give us a refund, insisted it was our fault, told me that I "should be grateful to get a more expensive arrangement", and finally agreed to give a refund for the incorrect bouquet, but said "you will be flagged to never buy from our stores again" and that I will have a "1 star rating in the national flower system, being marked as someone who will complain" so it will be difficult for me to order from other stores. I am baffled. Myself and my family have bought from the Elkton store for years, dating back to when they first opened. WOW! That's all I can say. On a positive note, the Elkton manager was understanding, apologetic, and in agreeable with my frustrations, for which I am thankful. She thanked us for complaining so that the wrongs could be made right and gave us a discount card for future orders. After being yelled over on the phone and my wonderful day dampened, at least I got my money back from the Culpeper store. Word to the wise, DO NOT order online and/or from the Culpeper location (online orders go to Culpeper). We have ordered via phone/in person from Elkton many times, including for our anniversary every year, without these issues. read more

I was drawn in by all the beautiful glazed pots sitting outside. I spent almost an hour pondering over which one to choose bc there were so many beautiful colors and designs, prices were good too. When I went inside I was greeted by a lovely lady who recommended the glass solar hot air balloons for the garden. I went in here by mistake, looking for the store next door. I don't know if it was the owner or a manager who I spoke to, but she was blatantly unhelpful... I asked her what the address was where I was, I asked her in which direction the address is go so I would know which way to walk... She told me the address, but had no idea which direction I needed to travel in to reach my intended location... It was RIGHT NEXT DOOR!!! Not down the block, not hidden, LITERALLY the next door over... I had fully intended to purchase an item or several items from her store, just for being helpful, unfortunately she was absolutely not. read more

Beware ordering online from this business. I placed an order recently that was delivered not looking anything like the online ad. I called the business to say that I would have appreciated a call when they realized there was a difference between what was ordered and what they could provide. Turns out large floral online providers place their offerings on webpages with a local business. An apology would have been nice; I wasn't looking for a refund. What I did get was a minutes long argument from a man who claimed this was out of his control. You'd think that if a customer reported an issue that the business owner would want to do something to make ordering easier and more accurate. Not here. If you do use this business, call the store directly. Do not order online! read more

Wow, I cannot say enough about the excellent customer service and beautiful flowers provided by Shenandoah Garden Spot. When my online order for Mother's Day flowers did not arrive when anticipated, I called the store and spoke with the owner, Greg. Because I had ordered through a third-party, the order had never made it to Shenandoah Garden Spot. Despite that, Greg went out of his way to be sure that my mother received a beautiful hanging basket on Mother's Day, even more gorgeous than the cut Flowers I had tried to order. And without any guarantee that he would ever receive payment through that third-party website. WOW. This place has earned my devotion for life. 13 March 2021. We were shopping in the store and the man that works there was on speaker phone with a lady. He was telling her that someone was overcharged and she made a comment that it ok to overcharge but not ok to under charge. We've been visiting this little spot since they opened a couple of years ago. They're located in a small, somewhat unlikely spot at the southern-most part of "Main Street, sandwiched between a 7-11 & another small shop that while currently one of those "gold/jewelry buyers", has changed businesses so frequently that mentioning that as a landmark is probably of little help. Anyway, this is Shenandoah Garden Spot's 2nd and newest location, as they also have a place in Elkton, VA. It's a very eclectic business with apparently a little something for everyone. The outside sales area (rimming the parking lot) has a selection of nice glazed pottery planters, along with whatever's in sync with the season. Winter offers cut Xmas trees & other holiday decorations; spring & summer find a variety of garden plants, small shrubs, & even a few tubbed trees; autumn finds a large & interesting variety of pumpkins & gourds (all grown by the owners on their own farm), mums, & flats of winter pansies. Inside the shop you'll find a florist facility with lots of indoor floral & other home decorating supplies (pots, baskets, plaques, scents, etc.), a fridge of fresh flowers, & a nice array of both dish gardens as well as individual small houseplants for you to purchase for your own creations. They also have a selection of different jams, jellies, honeys, sauces, etc. - most if not all Virginia-made - along with a small selection of fresh produce (which may also come from their own farm, but I'm not sure about that). Based just on our personal experience of purchasing pumpkins, gourds, & garden plants here several times - quality has been excellent & prices are reasonable; customer service is friendly, informative, & bend-over-backwards helpful. If I had to ding them on something, I would just wish the place was larger with a corresponding larger selection of garden items. read more

Ordered and paid for 14 trees and for him to plant them 2 months ago. For 2 months he has been making excuses about the trees and then he could no longer plant them. I paid someone else to dig the 14 holes and he agreed to pay half and now he says he sold me the trees by accident and he's not going to pay for half the labor for the holes. I wouldn't recommend him to rake leaves. Bad attitude for a business owner. Looking at these other comments it's not the first time he has done this. read more

Stopped by here yesterday, and had a GREAT time!!! Beautiful plants, THE biggest Indian Corn I've EVER seen... HUGE pumpkins, everything you need for Fall decorating. (We left with all we could haul!) LOTS of gorgeous decor items inside... and priced so cheap you'd think you stole it! And the folks there are so much fun!!!! I just moved to the area last year and was in need of a place to buy plants, etc. I stumbled across Shenandoah Garden Spot and fell in love. The store owner is very talented (which is obvious when you see his floral arrangements) and they have a fabulous selection of plants that you won't see at your average garden supply store. Additionally, I had him come out to our farm and landscape our entrance. He drafted up a plan for us to review and approve and then sent his men over to install and it and it is absolutely gorgeous! We will be using him again next month to landscape the field inside our circular driveway. read more

Stopped in here on my way to my grama's house from out of town. Looked unique. Had everything I needed. Owner was super friendly and helped arrange a simple mum in a gift basket. Had a few baskets of fresh local produce and lots of little primitive gifts and decor. read more

I stopped into this store because of the really beautiful items they had outside. What a huge mistake! I wanted one of the fall scare crows and this guy said they were all sold out but he had a truck coming in on Tuesday and he should have one for me so I paid for it in full more than 150.00 dollars. Well Tuesday came and went and he never called. On Wednesday morning I called him and he said it had come in and he would call me back. Again he did not call. I went by there Wednesday evening and he said oh the item I purchased was broken on the truck. Why didn't he state that in the morning? Something fishy! He supposedly returned my money on my card but after three days it's still no there. I called him again and he was very rude and didn't even try to check the problem out. I also had another item I want to return because it went with the broken item and he told me if I step foot on his property he would have me arrested for trespassing. I would never step foot on the business property ever again. Buyers beware! Looks can definitely be deceiving. I will get my money back even if I have to take the owner to court! Which is what the police stated when I called them. read more
