The entrance is like walking through a castle to a whole new world gated inside. It was clean, grassy, huge and open spaces with different areas to play for the kids. There are benches and picnic tables everywhere too. They also have restrooms on site too. Lots of grassy and shady areas to hang out as well. Our grandbaby had a great time running everywhere to her hearts content and she cannot wait to go back again with her parents.

And I do not say that lightly. As soon as you enter through the castle doors, you are transported into a mini Disneyland found in Vallejo, CA. As someone who was raised in this city, I did not expect this. This park truly Wow'd me for several reasons. One, the uniqueness of the play structures. There's a handful of them including a tea cup/ tea pot area, train station and train, pirate ship, pumpkin carriage and more. Our personal favorite; the tea cup with the connected slide, so fun!! My family and I easily spent two hours here. You can also book some spots for parties. I highly recommend checking out the GVRD's website. Theres shaded gazebos and many picnic tables. They even have story time and other events here. Theres a parking lot available and hours as well. They are closed on Tuesdays. 100 out of 10 recommend this park.

There's a lot of picnic tables, bbq pits, a bathroom and trash cans around. Plenty of shade for those hot summer days and parking in the residential neighborhood as well. It's kind of hidden and tucked away next to a middle or elementary school. There's a small parking lot and a bathroom too. What sets this playground apart from others is - it makes me think of Disneyland! The way the structures were made, so fun, colorful and bright! Lots of interactive and sensory opportunities here too, including the instruments, shaded sand pits and more. I love how much shade there is. All parks should have this, but sadly they don't. Most of the area is gated. However, for the older kids, the gate was open to a busy street.. I didn't like that. There were also a lot of spider webs. I wonder if there's any regularly scheduled maintenance done here. If there isn't, that's something worth looking into. Other than that - 10 out of 10 great park!

The wooden construction of the structures makes this one of my favorite parks to come to because it is just so refreshingly different. I will mention no swings, but there are slides of varying sizes. Benicia is such a beautiful place and there are so many great hidden gems here. This park is adjacent to a large open grass space where we noticed several birthdays happening, one with a jump house :) This park is all sand, fyi. There are places for parents/guardians to sit, and so many nooks and crannies for kiddos to explore and play. It's a nice perk getting to adventure to new spots for elevated parks, and this is one of them. Plenty of street parking, we can't wait to come back!

The playground is shaped like a boat with sea creature sculptures, making you feel like you're surrounded by water. There is also a sandy area for kids to build sand castles. Around the playground, there is a nice sidewalk for people to walk around. It may be small but it feels very safe and peaceful. During the day, I usually see a lot of students walking and running around the park. I like to go there in the evening to enjoy the sunset and breeze. I also see a many people walking their dogs to the park. This is a great place to enjoy if you live on Mare Island. Be careful in the summer though! There are a lot of mosquitos.
