I love this. I enjoy planning my own winery snacks. I was bummed when many wineries quit allowing food because they opened kitchens. So if I have to pay $30+ for food. I'm buying less wine. We took the guided tour ($8 for seniors) and had a phenomenal tour guide. He was a recent graduate with a degree in history. His tour was very informative and he tried hard to dispel some of the myths surrounding Daniel Boone and some misconceptions based on the Festus Parker protrayal of Daniel Boon on TV. He was great. After the guided tour of the house, we did a self guided tour of the historic village. This was well worth the visit.

The brisket was the best I've ever had and so was the Mac-n-cheese made with some ritz crackers on top. The manager was very friendly and welcoming. They showed us the smokers up close which was very cool. They have 4 different sauces to try all made in house and all delicious. Liked it so much we are going back for dinner. I've been on other food tours across the country and this one gave us the most food for our money. I've been to others where we left hungry but not here! If you take this tour at 11 am like we did I suggest you do not eat breakfast! I would definitely recommend this tour if you are visiting St Louis both for the food and to learn the history. A young man (I wish I remembered his name!) helped us right away. He explained the rental terms clearly, was incredibly friendly, and made sure we had the right size helmets. He also walked us through the bikes in detail, which was super helpful since we were new to e‑bikes. We weren't familiar with the area and weren't quite sure how to get to the riverfront. The owner, Joe, stepped in and personally guided us in the right direction. That level of customer service is rare and so appreciated. Everyone in the shop was welcoming, helpful, and genuinely kind. And let me just say... they have some AWESOME sunglasses. I may or may not have walked out with four pairs (lol). Highly recommend this store -- great people, great service, and a great experience all around.

We were able to stop along the way at some beautiful spots. They picked us up and shuttled us back to Defiance. They went above and beyond my expectations.
