After many decades of drumming and taking every opportunity to see the awesome bands of my day, my…read moretinnitus became more than a minor daily annoyance. I knew I needed help with my tinnitus and hearing loss, but I didn't want to be one of those persons who spends a gob of money on hearing aids, then doesn't use them. And here's where Dr. Kelly Hanscom really helped me out. I sport a shaved head, so it's not like I have luscious locks to help hide hardware behind my ears, so I really wanted to go with jamming the whole shootin' match in my ear. Dr. Kelly advised me on the available options and clearly explained the pros and cons of the different styles of hearing aids. I used a set of loaner hearing aids until my ordered units came in. Dr. Kelly tuned the loaners (and then my person devices) so that I would receive greater amplification of the frequencies in which my hearing is deficient. But she didn't overdo it. This seems to be where a lot of new hearing aid users experience frustration. I've heard several people say, "I'd wear them, but they're too dang loud!" Dr. Kelly artfully managed the acuity and volume of my hearing aids over the course of three months. As she explained, if a new user gets too much volume at first, it can be "jarring." That's the perfect word. So, over the course of three months, Dr. Kelly eased me into the "power" of my new hearing aids, and she also spent plenty of time ensuring that the fit is perfect and that I understand how to maintain and care for my new devices. I love wearing my hearing aids. It's been four months. The tinnitus therapy is wonderful! In fact, my wife can tell by my mood at the end of the day if I have been wearing my hearing aids. Without the tinnitus therapy, she says I am noticeably more anxious by day's end. And don't forget to say 'hello' and be nice to Franchesca at the front desk. After just a few visits, she had my name down and she regularly offers me cookies when I visit. Don't struggle another day with your tinnitus and hearing deficiencies. It's not only affecting your quality of life, but it's also affecting the quality of life of your family, friends, loved ones, and co-workers.

In Dec 2025 I saw a dif't ENT who told me that the RhinaAer would never be covered by my insurance…read moreso I found Valley ENT in my insurer's portal and called to find out if they perform Clarifix instead. They do. Booked the appt. Found out 2 days before my Valley ENT appt that my insurance approved it after all, but I was already scheduled to see Dr. Kelsch @ Valley ENT so I kept the appt. I explained that I already had a scope and sinus ENT 2 weeks prior but they said they needed their own. Fine. But then when we were ready to discuss the 2 options, Dr. Kelsch left the room and returned with 1 pamphlet for each (not super helpful when you want to know deeper, and pros and cons). He stood in the doorway, one foot and his body halfway out, and apparently my appt was over with no oppty for education or Q&A. WTH? Fine, so I asked the out-nurse about the procedures. She looked at me funny. I told her I didn't get education or Q&A from Dr. Kelsch and she said that was very strange. Ok, sounds he normally does, but did not for me. A few days later I left a VM asking for websites Dr. Kelsch recommended for self-education, and an oppty for a phone call Q&A with him. No reply. Fine, maybe VM not working. CALLED AGAIN, talked to a medical assistant, explained what I needed. Three weeks later, STILL NO REPLY. Fine, I'm already approved at the other ENT so I'M GOING BACK THERE. I think I've given AZ Valley ENT the benefit of the doubt enough times. I initially chose to call them since the reviews were good on my insurer's portal but seeing the reviews here, I realize that I should have also checked Google reviews. Maybe other ppl get a better experience but they kept dropping the ball on my end. Good thing it wasn't something URGENT.

I have to write this because I had an unpleasant experience few months ago…read more My right ear was hurting from flying Paris-Phoenix in mid July and as soon as I landed in phoenix I called the office to make an appointment. I didn't get to see Dr. Weiner until mid August, you know how it is that you can't get in right away. By the time I went to see Dr. Weiner, my ear was already fine. He checked my both ears anyway and he said that my right ear had wax, so he did the cerumen removal. Everything went well, so I was happy with the service. Prior to the cerumen removal, I was ordered to get hearing test. I told the hearing lady that my hearing was fine and I didn't need a hearing test, but she insisted and made me to sign the paperwork. I asked her multiple times that the insurance will cover for the test and she said yes! On the following month I received bill from this office with amount of $120.45. I called the billing company and she said yes I had to pay that amount after insurance deductible. In the statement description also they charged me $221 for a new patient. I was like really! I wasn't new because I came to this office for wax removal before.Plus I never heard doctors will charge for the new patients, where was that come from. Dr. Weiner was a wonderful ENT, but unfortunately the management was very poor. So disappointing.

Dr Weiner picked up my nervousness immediately and the first thing he did was cracked a pretty funny joke, which immediately took the tension off. It was perfect! The surgery was completed in no-time, a few days for recovery and I can tell you wonderful it is to actually breathe through both nostrils at the same time and to have a better sense of smell again. Very pleased with the outcome. You never feel Dr Weiner is rushing things during office visits. He is completely present for you and your questions. He is just a pleasant doctor and good-hearted person to talk to. He cares.

She removed my whole thyroid and also, without my knowledge removed all of my parathyroids. I was released from the hospital with no meds, no instructions. and no knowledge that she had removed my parathyroid. She was pregnant and ready to deliver, I think it was her last ditch effort to make a final buck before she went on maternity leave. I went home and procceeded to have a huge problem, I had to call 911 as I was not aware of needing any meds. I was never told that I would need ( for the rest of my life) to take medications, and not being aware that she removed my parathyroids, I had no idea that I could have gone into heart failure. I had several very bazar spells or episodes over the next several days and called 911 several times until I finally went to an endocrinologist whom them found that I was not on meds to substitute for the lack of my thyroid and did an ultrasound and found I had no parathyroid. Over the next several years, I have had many episodes that I thought I was dying. Not until this year did I find a doctor that resolved my situation. But I lost 10 years of life struggling with an unknown issue. Until this last year. I finally have my life back. I have to take several meds at four different times of the day just to stay alive. So, please stay as far away from this woman as possible. She almost killed me. Oh I forgot to mention, after the surgery for some reason, I can not longer sing. She obviously damaged my vocal chords. This is devistating for me as I am a musician.

Oof - this is a painful review to write…read more Stay far away. If you are considering an ENT for your child, do not take them to Dr. Cheryl A. MacKechnie, MD. My daughter's tonsillectomy was a year ago and was an absolute nightmare. A simple and common procedure that resulted in permanent disfiguration. Worse yet - no accountability or follow-up care provided by the doctor or her office. Their explanation of what happened in the OR was like a scene from Black Mirror. I wouldn't be exaggerating to say that this was traumatizing for my family. I waited a year to write this review - with hope my daughter's scar would heal and choosing Dr. MacKechnie wouldn't still haunt me. No luck. My daughter has a permanent scar on her cheek due to a burn from the cauterization tool - a careless mistake. This doctor and her office have done nothing to even attempt to rectify this. Of all the decisions I have made as a parent, choosing this doctor is probably my biggest regret.

The surgeon had to stop surgery and come out to explain situation to me. Debating cancelling the case, waking him up and sanitizing the scope and putting him under again. It was terrifying and completely avoidable. Not the surgeons fault. They ended up getting a scope from another facility and doing the case but he was under anesthesia for almost an hour unnecessarily. And it could have been a really bad outcome. The director came to talk to me and never once apologized, asked me what they could do, assure me they would look into to make sure it doesn't happen again. Said nothing that a director should have said. Simply told me they got another scope there fast and my husband was fine. Also she had the conversation right in front of a mother patient's family member which was very inappropriate but not surprising considering the way she handled the event. She never checked on my husband after surgery or apologized to him..complete lack of empathy which is surprising for such a huge mistake. The nurses were all top tier. Unfortunately, I am now questioning what else was not properly sterilized and am checking him constantly for any signs of infection. Have already contacted the accreditation organization but thought patients and families should know.
