We stayed at this property in August 2026 in their Oceanfront Suite and compared to the other Sheraton on the island this is definitely much worse particularly for a $1k+ night room. While the staff is super friendly and helpful, that's unfortunately the only good thing about the hotel. The property itself looks ok from the outside but if you look closer you'll notice that pretty much everything metal is corroded or rusted (including TVs). Unlike the other Sheraton, their parking situation is much better as the lot is huge and will never fill up. The oceanfront suite is very large but full of issues: - AC unit is insufficient even on colder / cloudier days and extremely loud - To make things worse, the AC filters are filthy and looked like they haven't been changed in years (which is probably true) - The room has no carpets and the floor looks just ugly and cold (although it's not actually cold because the AC is garbage) - The shower has the most idiotic design where someone turned a great idea into a flooding situation and every time you use the shower the whole bathroom fills up with water To top it all, there are no decent restaurants on the property and pretty much all the food you can buy onsite is overpriced food court stuff. If you're on the island of Kauai and must choose one of the 2 Sheratons, definitely go with the one in Poipu. read more

Good hotel location as a jump off point to different activities -- however definitely catches wind. Rooms were a little run down and we had to ask to get the filter changed for our A/C unit, which they did. The filter they removed looked like a science experiment from a 2nd grader on how much dust they could pack into it and make it stick... let alone the dust it flung into the air during the replacement process. Pool is really nice and plenty of gathering spots for parties of all sizes. read more

I'm so glad I spent my week here! I was looking for a stay near Kapa'a and this Sheraton happened to be part of the Costco Travel bundle with rental car and flight so I gave it a try. They have ample parking, the lobby is large and welcoming, and the staff are friendly and helpful! The pools are spacious and hot tub is clutch. I also loved their direct access to the beautiful beach. Their wrist band room keys were very convenient. My room was perfectly furnished and the features were clearly well kept. I would definitely book again. read more

This hotel turned my disappointment of hospitality on the island around. The hotel staff from the housekeepers to the front desk were a 10/10. The welcome was upbeat when I arrived with welcome drinks true spirit of Aloha! Kekoa who checked us in, had that old school Marriott spirit to serve. Patrick and Paul the bellmen were so friendly helping with my mom's mobility scooter in and out of the car. They were never grumpy or asking why. They were both warm and gracious to those who had low mobility, which I appreciate. On the last day, I met Lissa and Tarih at the front desk who sent us off well. The hotel is truly diversity-friendly. It didn't matter what you looked like or where you came from; you could feel that everyone was genuinely welcomed and treated with kindness and respect. The hospitality was warm, personal, and inviting. It honestly felt like being welcomed into someone's home rather than just checking into a hotel. That feeling of comfort and acceptance really stood out to me and made the experience even more enjoyable. I would definitely stay here again! Stayed here for the first two nights of our stay on Kauai, and I'm so glad we did! The aloha hospitality, ocean views, and poolside atmosphere were the perfect welcome. Since we only stayed a couple nights, we didn't have the chance to try any of the on-site dining, but there are tons of great options nearby. There is even a drugstore within walking distance that was super helpful in purchasing forgotten toiletries and snacks. Our only negatives were the loud A/C at night, and the fact that the resort fees did not include all the activities on property. Based on the proximity to the shoreline, and the great amenities, the Sheraton Coconut Beach is likely your best option for the east side of the island! read more

Bathrooms are infested with mold and we saw mice at the Crooked Surf for dinner in addition to the nonstop cranes that drove by the pool all day. The attached photo was finally taken on my fifth sighting of the crane after I could no longer ignore the noise. We had to ask for body soap, shampoo, towels, and robes multiple times throughout our stay. Sheets were changed twice throughout our whole week of visiting. Truly disappointed and will never return. Especially for our honeymoon and first ever Bonvoy experience. read more

We stayed at Sheraton Coconut Beach Resort for 4 nights to celebrate our anniversary, and it truly felt special from the moment we arrived. The welcome was so thoughtful -- we were greeted with beautiful leis, a box of cookies, and complimentary champagne. When we walked into our room, they had decorated the bed with towel swans and spelled out "Happy Anniversary." It was such a sweet touch and made the trip feel even more memorable. The property itself is beautiful. We really enjoyed the complimentary bicycles, and the pool and jacuzzi were both relaxing and well maintained. It was the perfect place to unwind. On our last night, the AC went out in the entire building, which was obviously unexpected. But the staff handled it the best they could -- they brought fans to help keep us comfortable and were very kind and communicative about the situation. They also gave us complimentary 2pm late checkout, which we appreciated so much, and they held our bags securely until 6pm when we came back before heading to our next stay. That flexibility made our travel day much smoother. It's definitely not an inexpensive stay -- there are daily resort fees and self-parking fees -- but the staff truly make it worth it. Everyone we interacted with was welcoming and accommodating. I also appreciated being able to get free hot water for my thermos at the coffee shop every morning without any issue. Overall, we had a really lovely experience and felt very well taken care of. We'd absolutely stay here again. read more

This hotel had just about everything we hoped for on a week stay. It's only a few blocks from Old Town Kapaa. We could've used the bikes they offer for free but it's only a first come first serve basis. We did a sunrise ride but the bike path is only less than a mile. The room was on the smaller side but we really enjoyed the beach view each morning. Totally worth it. Bathroom has a small counter. No full length mirror. But everything else was nice and clean. Gym was humid but there are fans. It can get crowded so we generally got an early start. The pool and jacuzzi were never overcrowded. The beach is fairly unusable due to the coral reef and choppy water but there are nice chairs and hammocks to enjoy the sunrise and sunset. Staff was always pleasant and attentive. We ate at the Starbucks cafe which is nice if you need a quick coffee and meal. Their small restaurant Daybreak offered a brunch which looked popular but we stayed conservative and had a delicious egg white frittata and meat lovers omelette. 9/10 for sure! Game area looked fun if you have kids including corn hole. Yoga looked popular. Price and stay was easily a 4.5 star and we would gladly stay again. Aloha! read more

The Sheraton Coconut Beach is a lovely hotel. The beds are super comfortable and the cleaning staff does a great job making the beds and making the rooms feel cozy. It is within walking distance to an ABC store which was our kids favorite part. Now the negatives, the bar drinks are not very strong, and the lanai's are very small. We paid for an ocean view room and you can only see the ocean if you stand in the very corner or our tiny lanai. Overall it is a great hotel for families. read more

Checked in for our staycation/vacation. Got a upgrade to beach front. Check in was quick and efficient. I always was curious about these beach front units. Entered and did my usual room inspection. Clean! Did the bed inspection, pass! Bathroom, clean. No bugs, no hairs, etc. No leaks, mold etc. Impressive! Wifi works well. Like our room, very peaceful and right on the beach. A/C world great, bed comfortable. Used the pool today, water was nice. Pool is small, luckily not to much kids. More lucky to find lounge chairs available for us. Pool side service was attentive. We've stayed here many times before. Only thing I wish they had a spa for massages, it would be perfect. read more

This location isn't the better of the ones on the island. While it isn't in shambles, it isn't in the best of shape. The bathrooms were actually pretty poorly remodeled and left something to be desired. The beach is pretty limited, not a lot of space to hang out. Pretty pricy for what you get, the current rating is 3.8 stars and I'd say that's accurate. Staff was more about what they couldn't do for us and not really accommodating. We are Bonvoy Members and it meant absolutely nothing!!! For instance, check out is 11 and you cannot check in until 4. So you have a lot of time where you paid for a hotel Room and cannot use it. We asked for late check out (our flight wasn't until 10:30 that night) and the kind young gentleman said he could let us have 11:30. When we got to our room there was a notice we had til 10 am to be out because the exterminator would be treating the room. Restaurant and bars are pretty good, but pricy! The breakfast buffet is $35/pp and you can get a pretty good breakfast. The coffee bar onsite is good and the staff friendly. Again, not bad, but not great for the money. Feel like hospitality died of COVID and you're a number at most hotels. Sheraton used to be special, but pretty much just another money grab. read more

Our stay was terrible. There were issues the whole time. First, we received a letter in our room about a pest control issue in the building that required treatment. It didn't indicate whether our room was affected or when the treatment would start or stop. Then the next day, the wi-fi stopped working. We came back to our room to find 2 men inside working on the router without notice to us. Third, the TV didn't work. Also, this hotel claimed to have daily housekeeping when we booked, but that was a lie. They actually clean every 3 days. I don't mind this frequency, but I do mind false information. The AC is very loud. Couldn't sleep. On top of all of this, they charge a daily parking fee and a daily resort fee that felt completely unjustified. Book elsewhere and avoid this mess. read more

The shower in our room (#438) was permeated with mold inside and outside the shower. The toilet hinges were also permeated with mold. We complained 2 times to no avail. Management at the hotel has not responded to email correspondence. The rooms are well appointed, comfortable, clean and convenient. The surroundings are perfection. I've returned to spend time where my partner and I spent several vacations before his passing this last year. I knew I had to return. I knew it would feel welcoming even though it's an emotional time in my life. This trip made me realize this is something I can do on my own and I don't have to feel sad. There's just something special about the island and this resort is the perfect place to capture the essence of Kauai. I am so grateful to be able to spend time there. We stayed here for four nights in October. Location is convenient and many cafes and restaurants to walk to. Rooms are substandard, service is mediocre, a the hotel restaurants are ok. There is direct beach access but not the best beach and it is not swim able due to rocks. For the price and what is offered, I'd recommend to look for other options and compare what available. If you find rooms for a bargain, then worth it if you can get over the rooms. read more

Love this hotel! The ambiance alone keeps me coming back. A pool for every person in the family, open access to the beach for that morning coffee/stroll. We had a wonderful stay! We were celebrating my daughter's 10th birthday, and the staff went above and beyond by creating a towel cake decorated with flowers and plants on her bed. She was absolutely surprised and thrilled! The property is fantastic for kids--both pools are shallow, which allowed them to play safely while giving me peace of mind. Every day there was something fun for the kids, like s'mores, shaved ice, and other activities that made the experience even more special. There's also a great bike path around the hotel area. We borrowed bikes from the front desk and used them to explore and grab snacks nearby, which was a lot of fun. A big shout-out to Brittany at the front desk--she was absolutely awesome and made our stay even better! read more

While we had a fine stay, we probably should have read more reviews outside of the Marriott website. The pool is small which can only mean during the busy season, get up at 5 or good luck finding a chair at the pool. We had an issue with the AC in our room the first day. At first, the staff told us that's a HI thing until they came and looked and realized our chiller was out. The food is decent but the nicer restaurant on property is way over priced. The mahi mahi was awful and smelled fishy. As a platinum member, I expected more. read more

While the staff at this hotel are beyond lovely and try to go above and beyond for their guests, we, unfortunately, did not have the best experience at this hotel due to the uncleanliness of the room. I travel with a blacklight and we spent the better part of two hours throughout our trip trying to secure clean sheets - only detectable via a blacklight (see attached videos). We had a few other cleanliness issues such as bugs that were there upon check-in and went unaddressed for the duration of our 5-night stay, as well as random water leakage from out faucet for 2 nights. But the bedding was the most concerning. Please watch these videos. We were absolutely disgusted by the stains we discovered. Especially for the money paid! Again, the staff responded well, bringing multiple sets to our room until we found sets that weren't stained. They are fantastic. Otherwise, we had a nice time - pool scene, while busy, was nice and the location is fantastic with direct beach access. read more

Stayed here a couple times already. It's in Kapa'a and is central to be able to go to Hanalei and Poipu without spending too much time on the road. There's a bar and restaurant on property, but I didn't dine in them. It's beach front, however the water on the east side is pretty rough and not really meant for swimming. There's chairs and hammocks to sit and enjoy the view which is nice. The pool is not bad and overlooks the beach. There's a gym and some pool tables and games in the lobby. There's a luau that takes place on the resort a couple times a week. We were able to catch it from our patio and it seems just ok. Parking is plenty, but be careful parking under some of the trees, your car can get bombed on by all the birds around in the evening. The location is walking distance to the Coconut Marketplace and there's a Safeway, Starbucks, ABC, Ross , and quite a few restaurants close by. There's even a Longs Drugs in the same parking lot. They give you a wristband to wear that is also your room key. The room is clean, nothing amazing. Good for the price. If you are planning on being out all day and not spending too much time at your resort, this is a good place with it being comfortable and clean. read more

We had the worst experience at a hotel ever at this place. Our hotel room door was left open by housekeeping 2 of the 4 days we stayed there! The door to Room 360 needs to be pulled shut, but the housekeepers couldn't be bothered to make sure it was closed. They would have checked at their own hotel room... The first time the door was left open (all day on our first full day there since we came back at 9) we were nice and forgiving. Our keys didn't work so the guy at the front desk reset them and also had security escort us since our door had been unlocked. He also said he would notify housekeeping so they can be sure to close our door next time. Security had to contact maintenance who had to replace the battery (?) in our door to make the keys work. Nothing was stolen. I left a note to housekeeping the next day telling them to please lock the door and that it had been left open the day prior. One of the housekeepers wrote a nice not back apologizing and stating that she would notify her team so this wouldn't happen again. Well, I did not leave a note on day 3 and we came home to another opened door! I was livid. The guy at the front desk and the housekeeper said they would take care of the issue but neither actually did! Talk about incompetence! Thank goodness my laptop computer and expensive bags were still there. Thank goodness my friend's wallet was still there! It was probably opened for at least 7 hours that day! We called the guest services # but no one answered. (During our trip we called them once around 8PM and another time around 1PM. We got no answer both times!) So we went all the way back to the lobby to speak with a manager. He apologized but said since we ordered through Costco he could not give any refunds. He could give us one free buffet breakfast, even though we were staying for 2 more nights. Weird and pathetic. We should have gotten at least one night free or something similar. I will be filing a claim with the BBB. Also, the shower was broken so half of the water was coming out of the faucet by my feet while half was coming out of the shower nozzle the whole time. In addition, the bath tub was clogged and kept filling up with water while we showered. Gross. Sadly, the bathroom door never even actually closed! There was about 1" space (see photo) keeping it open. And it was loud, clicking when we slid it open and closed. We basically had no privacy. Every time we came home our AC was also blasting. We set it at 79 but the AC would be on even if it was below 70 degrees! They claim to focused on being sustainable yet blast AC and waste water in the shower. What an ordeal! I was in shock when my friend told me this place is apparently a 4 star hotel. Stay away. You have been warned. read more

Our flight landed around 10am and we drove straight to the Sheraton to see if they had a room available (which they didn't have, that's ok). We dropped off our luggage so we wouldn't have to drive around with it while waiting for our room. We got a call around 2:30pm that our room was ready, Great! The property has a good food selection. We ate breakfast mostly at the Day Break (Moa Moa restaurant at night) and breakfast sometimes at First Light (quick service). The staff are really friendly and helpful at Day Break (Shout out to Kimi). The room we got was a corner ocean front (great view), large and 2 queen beds. The pool and gaming area are open rain or shine, 2 pool tables, 1 GIANT foosball table, a few classic arcades, darts, etc. We were lucky to get decent weather while we were there. The hotel is centrally located on the east side, about 30-40 minutes to Princeville (north) and Poipu (south) and about 15-20 minutes from the Lihue airport. read more

Not sure of the other reviews, but we had an amazing time! We stayed here for the second part of our honeymoon and absolutely loved it! The restaurants are good (the cafe pink machine smoothie was my fave) and the beach is right there! We also received delicious chocolate on our arrival for our honeymoon and were greeted with so much Aloha from Leyla the manager and we made new friends from Colorado (ironically where my husband is from!). The staff at the hotel were so nice and the luau was great! And Art sang to us at MoA Moa Restaurant for our honeymoon. All in all a great stay! read more

We stayed here for our honeymoon, which was 7 nights. For the first 4 nights we had lukewarm water. We went down to the front desk the first morning and mentioned that something was wrong with the hot water and they acknowledged that they were having a water heater problem and that multiple other guests had complained. since the issue persisted for a few more days, we also called the front desk one evening and mentioned that it was our honeymoon and we would really love to be able to enjoy a hot shower. If this was a bed-and-breakfast, I would understand the sort of issue being more common, but this is a Sheraton. We expect a certain level of professionalism and urgency to solve the problem. they apologize and sent a handyman up who proceeded to argue with us on the temperature of the water. I wouldn't say it was cold, but it was definitely lukewarm. we also mentioned that when we booked the hotel, we had asked for special treatment, even if we had to pay for it like a bottle of champagne, chocolate, rose, petals, or just something to acknowledge our special celebration. None of that was acknowledge and they did nothing for us. They apologized and said they would send up a box of chocolates which they never did. Overall, we were generally disappointed with the quality of service, the overly priced food and drinks and for the cost per night the overall dated I'm an idiot. Our shower even had black mold, and our lanai was cracking, and the floor was bubbled. Overall value, I would say it is pretty low for over $500 a night to not have a very clean and updated appearance. I've been a Sheraton member for a long time, but this is definitely the last time we will ever be staying at the Sheraton. read more

I stayed her just under 7 years ago when it was the Courtyard Marriott Coconut Beach and I am not sure if it is because I had such a short stay or I just didn't know much about amenities (if they had them)....but I basically booked for a 1 week stay here and this place is great. There were slight hiccups here and there I would say but I don't expect perfection especially on a rain soaked night I arrived and another rain soaked morning right after....but first off... STAFF = 10+ Check In Desk - Awesome friendly helpful answered questions (the gal who checked me in even knew where I was from in CA)....At times I would go down to ask for a small item and they would grab it for me.... Valet/Bell Desk area everybody always welcomed you when you came in or out of the hotel. Concierge - Karen and Natalie were awesome help! Housekeeping was awesome... Maintenance - fixed my tub drain when I was out Couple of hiccups - I asked for a microwave and they put one in my room and the start button didn't work so I put it out and if I knew there was a microwave so close to my room where the vending and ice machine were I wouldn't have asked for one....the ice machine on this floor didn't work so I had to go down one level to use that one which was fine.... Gym - Clean and good amount of equipment I utilized it multiple times during my stay...only thing the A/C in there is bad so they compensate with a portable one as well but it just isn't strong enough.... Finally, one extra bonus is the Hospitality Room offered because I had late checkout but my flight wasn't way until 9:38PM so I was able to check my luggage in with the bell area and after doing some things I was able to take a shower in the hospitality room get my items and leave...awesome! read more

Stayed here with my wife for our Babymoon. We had an unfortunate incident in our first room after we checked in where the bathroom ended up flooded with water. The engineer said water had come up from the under sink faucet handle because it had not been shut completely. My wife and I were shocked by this since we definitely didn't see it leaking water at all before and we couldn't even reproduce it. Anyways, we asked the front desk if we could be moved and they were able to accommodate us with a larger room and even removed our resort fees for the stay! The rest of our stay at the hotel was wonderful. The staff is very nice and looks genuinely happy. The concierge was very helpful in giving us ideas for our itinerary. The pool and bar were a nice place to relax for a bit every day. It is located right next to a beach and ocean however it is not ever really in a condition to be going into. We didn't really try the food at the restaurants since there's so many other places to eat around the area. The hotel is nicely located so it's a short drive to Kapaa town and about 30 min to Poipu, the airport in Lihue and even the north shore. The coffee shop is okay and the wait can get very long at around 8 am. We were able to find a much better coffee spot that became our go to for the rest of the stay just a few minutes away. I think this hotel is just missing a spa but we were able to find one close by in Kapaa. Overall it was a very pleasant hotel to come back to every day and relax and pretty centrally located if you want to explore the entire island. read more

Of all the experiences, tours, meals on my entire Kauai vacation, the only thing I disliked was my hotel. Gets a star because of location and view. The switches were sticky, luckily we had wipes we cleaned the surfaces ourselves before unpacking. Maria confirmed I paid the highest price I could without upgrading to villa which was unavailable, yet I was placed on second floor directly beneath a family with a baby that cried from 7am-10am nonstop. Sliding doors to balcony were not sealed so we had winds howling loudly through our doors every night, very poor sleep. There were also ants. Considering the price I paid I have learned my lesson and will only stay at Grand Hyatt or 1 Hotel Hanalei when visiting Kauai. Way better properties and staff truly does make a difference to the vacation you've earned. Genuinely feel I did not get my moneys worth at this hotel. read more

The door handle to the balcony was dusty. You know housekeeping doesn't wipe it down between stays because there's dust build-up on the top and bottom of the handle. The same goes for the nightstand and table/dresser; dust & water ring stains. I always wipe down tabletops and door handles when I stay at hotels, but this is unacceptable. 1-ply toilet paper? Really? This is the Sheraton, not Motel 6. Please use better toilet paper. Sheraton should know that we have 3 guests staying in the room. Every single day we had to ask for more towels. We called both housekeeping and the front desk 2-3x before we got an answer. Again, unacceptable. Hotel activities for kids are always around 3 - 4 pm. Why? Activities should be earlier in the day (not just AM Yoga), or later. As tourists, we have activities planned as well. Sad that my daughter missed out on ALL of the activities Sheraton had to offer. As for Christmas, not a lot was offered for kids. On Christmas Eve, a trolley was pulled out for kids to pick. Toys from Oriental Trading. We were also NOT given a lei or welcome drink upon arrival. A $40 resort fee per day is severely overpriced when the only thing available for us to use is the pool and gym. No cameras. No bikes. No class for us to enjoy because we had excursions already planned. We are very unhappy with our stay and at $2200 for 4 days, we will not be returning. read more

We booked a 2 queen bed room months ago. This is what was confirmed in confirmation email, and what we were expecting. A day before we were set to arrive my wife checked in online and saw that we were only given 1 king bed, a scenario making it impossible for mom and dad to have their own bed from the 2 kids on the reservation. When we called to inquire they said they're sorry they've oversold the rooms. Overselling is a practice of trying to ensure 100% occupancy, but renting out over 100% of the rooms, so that cancellations don't dent the 100%. We asked by they didn't tell us about this ahead of time and they said oh, we never call people to let them know this kind of thing, "never"! It's wild not letting people know they're getting a drastically different room than they contracted for with the room reservation? It's also a bait and switch, getting people to invest their time and money without being honest with them about what they're getting and also not giving them a chance to book alternate accommodations. If this happens to you too you too should file a complaint with the State or Hawaii Office of Consumer Protection for this deceptive business practice. read more

We made a quick stop for 2 nights at this property. We were upgraded to the one bedroom suite as Titanium Elite member and was not disappointed. I had preordered champagne and charcuterie for the room and it was there and wonderful. The service in the restaurant was 5 star. Our server was Art. He was spectacular in all aspects. He even serenaded us with an A cappella native Hawaiian song. We were visited and thanked by the Sou Chef as well as Resort Operations Manager, Timothy. We are extremely pleased and appreciative of the top level service. The food was so much more than we expected. We'd highly recommend dating at this resort and giving the restaurant your business.
