The cost is not bad at all. This place is an apartment complex, turned into a hotel. So you definitely get a kitchen to cook in. The place was well maintained and clean. The Jacuzzi worked one night, out of 5 nights we stayed. The bathtub looked dirty, but turned out it was cracked and falling apart. The welcoming was rude but the rest of the stay was nice. There was a checklist of items in room. We were missing one of the items. A rubber bathtub mat. Hopefully they don't bill us for that. Next time, we would stay here again. Especially how close it is to walk over and watch the sunrises.

Very helpful in sorting out a medical problem. Let us register early...no charge. Suites have lots of space and a decent kitchen. Big deck and available pool were great. Good size bedrooms. Even helped us print our boarding passes.

Wonderful place to stay! Affordable, clean, quiet, beautiful grounds and friendly staff! It sits across from the beach that is gorgeous, just be careful of the cicadas flying back and forth the path. Great location next to the country mart , shops and some restaurants! Very family friendly!

Nope. Do not stay here, UNLESS you are an adventure traveler, or don't have kids, you are REALLY tight on your budget and are tolerant of substandard living spaces. In my case, the bathroom was "gross." (I can't come up with a more diplomatic term.) As you will read in other reviews, the property's management hides under this veil: "Each unit is privately owned, so, unfortunately we have no control over the quality." So, my advice is to not stay here. Let capitalism do its ugly magic. The owners have no impetus to improve if they have consistent income. I understand "some" units have been upgraded. But, in my case, I stepped into a time warp--a San Fernando Valley bachelor pad circa 1974. But it's not just the dated furnishings that detract from Kauai's tropical setting. The space is downright gross. Chipped paint. Soiled carpet. Lumpy seating. But most concerning was the bathtub. (See: pics) The late check-in time was also a hitch in my travel plans. My confirmation said 3pm. When I approached the front desk I was told it is actually 4pm. (My psychic abilities were not functioning when I checked in.) However, my room was not ready until 4:30pm. On the plus side: The property is relatively quiet and within walking distance to a shopping center.

Simple condon units. We had unit D5 and it was fine for what we needed and more. Located 15 minutes from the airport in Lihue. It is very convenient walking location to a large Country Market and Long's Drugs. There is beach access as well as shops and restaurants nearby. From Bobby V's Italian Pizzeria, Lava Lava Club, and Chicken in a Barrel. The ABC Market has a wide variety of got food and groceries and anything one might need in short walking distance. So location is great and doubly great for seeing the North and South sides as well. Also in the marketplace were some great local crafts shops. Our room was a one bed. We were hoping for a queen but got a double beds room. The room was tired and dated but fine for us. Everything worked, the bath sink was slow in draining but i cleaned the superficial hair and gunk real quick and it was fine. The air conditioner worked well and good water pressure. Full service kitchen, fridge, TVs in both living and bedroom, the room had its own water heater. You collect a safe key and beach towels at the front desk Pleasant front desk. Our room was never made up but we didn't need or want it to be... so we eventually just left the do not disturb sign up eventually. We easily visited the North and South sides of the island from here. Kapa'a and other eateries are 5 minute drive away. Some good places to eat is EatHealthy Cafe for vegetarians and Bobby V's for good pizza and Italian. If you want toes in the sand while you drink and eat, go to Lava Lava Club. Being on the highway side we heard music from blaring cars most nights but with air on it mostly got drowned out and tired from the day's activities so always got sleep. Even with our stompy upstairs neighbors. Would recommend for great central location on island to explore the entire island. Pleasant and acceptable. Never had a problem parking each night.

The suite I paid for, Gross!

This hotel has major flaws, My suite is dirty, literally there is a sign on the wall located in entrance that states"take your shoes off before entering " not takin my shoes off because the carpet is dirty, vey dirty, smelly like a dog or cat did there business on the floor, Gross ! Bathtub is dirty. It's too late on a Friday to find a better place stay. Otherwise I would have left on the spot, It's going to be difficult to sleep. Sleeping in my clothes tonight and with a mask. I give this place two stars only because the location Don't stay here. Pay more and stay at a high end hotel.

We like the decor and ambiance. There are points that are negative, but my wife insists I only write a positive 5 star review.

Came here for the first time with my family while visiting Kauai. We booked through Expedia.com because the rates were much lower than anything else that I researched. When we got here to check in, I noticed that you can upgrade your room AND get a 10% discount when you check in on YELP. I was so pumped lol only to find out that it only applies if you book through them and not a 3rd party like expedia.com, priceline.com, kayak.com, etc. Our assigned room was E4 and it was very spacious for my family of 4. They had little areas of the rooms that needed minor repairs, but it did the job. Unfortunately, the flash flood and tornado warning got us locked up spending majority of our vacation in our room plus the whole coronavirus scare. The TVs have basic cable and a dvd player. A lot of lighting, full size fridge and stove plus pots/pans, utensils, dish rack, and cleaning materials. Our room had a king size bed and a sofa bed, nice little patio that led out to the little courtyard with one of those lame sports like cricket or bocce lol. There are 3 different pools and 2 jacuzzis. There are probably other amenities, but we didn't get to explore too much due to the weather. The staff are very nice and helpful. They have unassigned parking stalls available. This place is located across the Sheraton Coconut Resort and the beach. And right next to the Coconut Marketplace where there are restaurants, bar, and some shops are located. I would definitely come back here if we ever visited Kauai again.

1972 called and wants their timeshare back! WHAT A DUMP!!!!! Let's just say we got duped when we booked what we thought would be a great week on the beautiful island of Kauai. How could anyone with a conscience let human beings stay in a "crap hole" like this. And this is no exaggeration! Carpet, tile & drapes from 40 years ago, a stove that you would see in a 50's movie and the so-called balcony looks out at bushes you can't see over with the busiest road on the island right behind it...noise all day & night long. You can feel every spring in the mattresses on both beds and the pullout couch is like sleeping on the floor. All I can say is RUN! Faraway. Don't look back & don't pass go! Living on the streets is better than this awful place. Please continue your search. Mahalo!

BUGS! This place is absolutely disgusting. Filthy! Has not been cleaned in years. Literally mold dripping from the ceiling on the walls in the bathroom. Horrible smell. I got a refund and the management was not even surprised. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!

We checked in, and right away, the room wasn't impressive. There was a strange scent lingering in the air--like something was being covered up with multiple plug-ins. Everything felt dated: the furniture, the decor. The kitchen looked decent with updated appliances, but that was about it. We tried to brush it off and went to the pool (which looked much smaller in person than in the photos), then came back to the room. That's when the real nightmare began. My youngest daughter went to take a shower in one of the bathrooms. Moments later, I hear screaming. I run in and see sewage--yes, actual dark, smelly sewage--coming up from the shower drain. My daughter is crying, I'm shaking, and the stench is overwhelming. We immediately called the front desk, and someone was sent to "unblock" it. I begged the manager to move us to another room due to the smell and potential health hazard, and all he said was: "There are no rooms. You can check out, or stay and we'll send housekeeping." Excuse me? This isn't a spilled drink--they're talking about cleaning up sewage with a mop? I asked if they planned to professionally decontaminate the area, and the answer was no. Just their regular housekeeper. It wasn't until I was clearly desperate--three kids, nighttime, a trip we booked months ago--that they finally offered to send us to their sister hotel for one night. But we'd have to pack up, drive there, then return the next day--basically waste precious time and energy. This was a special occasion trip. We paid extra for an ocean view, and it was supposed to be an anniversary celebration. And to make things worse, nobody seemed to care. The manager responded with a condescending tone like I was overreacting. He actually said, "These things happen once in a blue moon." Okay--then have a plan for when they do! It honestly felt like he thought he was doing me a favor by offering a one-night refund or a small room at a different hotel. No real apology. No accountability. Just a lot of shrugging and gaslighting. We ended up staying, but were only refunded for one night. The second bathroom was out of commission (we didn't feel safe using it), so our whole family had to share one shower for the rest of the trip. The awful smell never fully left the room. Also--the in-unit washer and dryer? The washer smelled horrible, was full of sand, and looked like it had mold in the plastic lining. Just gross. This whole experience left a horrible taste in our mouths. I honestly don't understand how this place is being managed. If the rooms are owned by individuals and managed by this hotel group, do the owners even know how badly things are being handled? What was supposed to be a beautiful anniversary trip with our kids turned into one of the worst travel experiences we've ever had. Stay far, far away from this place!!!

We arrived early in the day so we're not able to get into our room but the staff held our luggage and recommended a few places to eat and watch football. Once able to get into our room which was on the 3rd floor looking over the pool area but far enough away from the noise. The room was quite large with a great kitchen area with granite counter tops and nice appliances. Also a large bathroom with tub and separate shower area as well as two toilets. It was a one bedroom. There was a small lanai off the bedroom and you could open the sliding door from the living room. There was also a washer/dryer in the room. The view from the room looked over the whole pool area which has a winding pool that you can walk around over to the main pool. They also had gas grills to use and many people did. One note is if you open the sliding door in the living room area and don't match up the line in the top of the doors, the air conditioning doesn't go on. We thought the air conditioning quit. After calling the front office someone came within an hour. Told us about the line. We also had an issue with the washer and after a call to the front desk a maintenance person was there within an hour. The staff we interacted with were very friendly and very helpful. Giving us recommendations for a place for fresh fish to grill. There is also a small restaurant which we tried a few nights for some drinks and appetizers. The views of the ocean are great. There are also chairs to sit on the beach area and enjoy the water. The beach is not large but very clean and nice to relax at. Check-in took awhile, but the front desk people were super friendly and provided us a complimentary bottle of wine when they heard that we were staying for our honeymoon. Daily housekeeping is apparently not offered, but we did ask that fresh towels be provided daily. This request was hit or miss, and we often found ourselves needing to go to the front desk to ask for a change in towels the next day. The room itself is surprisingly spacious and clean, although older and dated. It was quite amazing to wake up to the sight of the beautiful Pacific Ocean right outside our patio window every morning. Although the waters on this side of the island were not protected and too rough for us to think about jumping into the ocean safely. We were told that seals and sea turtles would occasionally make their way onto the beach, however this was apparently more of a rare sighting and never materialized during our stay. We actually just wound up going to Poipu most evenings to see the sea turtles come in to rest on the beach. There is a DVD machine near the front desk where you can rent movies for free. And a Playstation in the room to watch the DVD's with. However, the dual shock controller definitely had taken a lot of abuse and would just rumble randomly whenever the power was turned on. And most of the buttons either did not work or would only work sporadically. There are no elevators here, despite the various buildings being at least 3 stories tall. We wound up having a 2nd floor room and found ourselves hauling all of our heavy luggage up multiple flights of stairs. If you are elderly or disabled, you should definitely request a 1st floor room. Additionally, they do not have any real lighting on the outdoor common areas that connect the rooms with the front foyer. Instead, there are just the small, garden solar lights stuck into the ground along the paved path. This is honestly quite a safety issue as the area is literally pitch black at night as you're either leaving the property or coming back. With only the small lights on the floor to guide your way while you hope you don't trip over any cracks or unseen objects. The hotel has a large, private parking lot that is shared with the nearby businesses on the same property lot. However despite the large amount of parking spots, we constantly found ourselves needing to circle the lot looking for a free spot whenever we returned back later at night. We suspect that some locals may be using their parking lot for temporary/long-term parking, as we did see a few vehicles that had multiple tickets on the windshield during our stay with warnings of towing due to abandonment. Despite the tickets/warnings, we did not see any of these vehicles actually towed during our entire stay here. Despite the issues outlined above, we did overall enjoy our stay here. And would recommend this property if you're looking for a slightly more affordable option than many of the high-end resorts that dot this island.

We had a garden-facing room on the third floor that still offered a decent ocean view. The room was a bit dated, but I loved having a little kitchenette with a fridge, microwave, and sink. Plus, the DVD rental in the lobby was a nice touch since every room has a DVD player. There were a few surprises, like no elevator, so lugging our bags up three flights was a workout. Our room wasn't ready when we arrived, but we got two free drink tickets for the Tiki Bar, which made the wait more enjoyable. However, the Wi-Fi in our room was spotty, and there wasn't much help available. Luckily, I managed to hop onto the neighbor's Wi-Fi to stream Netflix, though the local TV never worked, which was a bit of a bummer. The early morning rooster calls were definitely new for me, but I came to appreciate them as part of the island charm. Parking was tricky if we got back late, but on the bright side, the location was fantastic. We could walk to the Coconut Marketplace, and the vouchers and coupons we received were a nice perk. Overall, despite some hiccups, the beautiful island setting and friendly service made my stay memorable.

The staff is extremely welcoming. They really want to help you and take every opportunity to. After our realization that our booking wouldn't work (from our own planning error), they used their taxi to drive us to the other resort to make sure we were situated, and gave us waters while we were waiting for the taxi. We tried to tip them and they insisted not to. Kind people with genuine heart. At the buffet breakfast one of the staff even gave my mom a full papaya to take home since they connected over it. Definitely fits the bill for a resort, super clean property with amazing views that make you really feel you're on vacation. It's probably too expensive for our own wallet but since the company covered our meals and things, it was a great experience.

We loved our 2bedroom villa, while we had plenty of space the property itself is small enough that walking anywhere doesn't feel like a chore. Here is where we fall off and don't quite hit the 5 stars. Our villa was super clean. Toilets weren't fully cleaned upon arrival and they definitely didn't do a better job during our stay. The couch and blankets had a few mystery stains that grossed me out. Cocktails and the restaurant are insanely expensive. We are talking 28 dollars for a cocktail. Additionally the staff member Nancy (pool attendant) was rude to me. I wasn't able to locate a dry chair in the sun at 4pm. so I asked an employee for permission to use a chair near the cabana. Permission was granted but she wasn't happy about it. So asked me to move, while I didn't have issue with moving I did find it rather unprofessional of her to yell at me for not reading the sign and while she offered to help me when I asked to a dry chair on the sun she walked away ranting about my lack of awareness. To make matters worse the same employee had a separate issue with my husband in reguarda to pool towels. When I tried to address it with the front they weren't very helpful. All in all we did have a great week there and hope to go back.

It's an open restaurant with no doors and being steps from the beach it should've been breezy, especially New Year's Day. They had fans over head but were not using them. I asked if they could turn them on and the lady said she would and never did. That was horrible. Trapped heat and me do not agree. The other thing is the bathroom. It's in the hotel and when asking where it was, I was told "that way" with a point. I went that way and entered the first doors but those were the hotel rooms. I left and went in the next doors and there they were. There was no sign. The "that way" direction was not helpful besides knowing which way not to walk. I've been to a few luaus and they usually split up the different islands in dance and it's apparent. Here, I was lost. It felt rushed and the story didn't -- well ?what story? Really. It was still a wonderful night. We celebrated my son getting engaged that day. Nothing could've killed our night. There is another one on Kauai that is more authentic. I forget which one since it was in 2012 when we went but it was amazing. One thing that was very disappointing was being steps away from the beach yet no viewing of the pig being unearthed. That's a huge part of the luau experience and that was the biggest disappointment. My sister, nephew and (now) daughter-in-law had never been and we were excited for them to see it.
