Customer support was extremely disappointing. I attempted to cancel my reservation in advance and worked through a back-and-forth process between the front desk and Super.com. Based on instructions from Super.com, I first contacted the front desk and asked them to send an email to support@super.com, which they did. As I relayed updates from Super.com, their requirements kept changing. Initially, it was just to send the email, but later they stated that they also needed the subject line of that same email in order to proceed. I then called the front desk again to request the subject line. The same staff member explained that their system does not allow them to view sent emails, so she could not retrieve it. While I understand that technical limitations can happen, I suggested a simple and reasonable solution: sending a new email to support@super.com and noting the subject line beforehand so it could be shared with me. This request was not accommodated. Instead, after some back-and-forth, she muttered, "I can't do this," and abruptly hung up. When I called again to follow up, I was disconnected once more as soon as she appeared to recognize my voice. At that point, it became clear that the situation had grown frustrating on both sides, especially given how disorganized Super.com's process had been. However, while I understand that the process itself was inconvenient and that the staff member may have felt overwhelmed, directing that frustration at a customer and ending calls in this manner felt very unprofessional. I remained patient throughout and genuinely tried to work collaboratively toward a solution despite the system limitations. Unfortunately, the dismissive attitude, unwillingness to assist with a straightforward request, and repeated hang-ups left me feeling frustrated and deeply disappointed with the overall level of customer service. It is also uncertain at this point whether I will be able to recover my payment, which adds to the concern. I have been a choice privilege customer for a long time and I travel a lot. I booked this hotel online because I needed a place to stay while my home was getting a new roof put on. When I showed up on Feb 4th to check in, there was a very rude and nasty woman at the front desk that told me "we don't rent to locals." I told her if they don't, why was I able to book a room? They have my information online and know where I live. She said "that's where the problem lies, you booked it online." I told her THAT, was their problem and they needed to fix it. You can't just tell people they are not welcomed to stay there as they're checking in with a reservation. The woman was so cold, unapologetic, and did not like me asking questions, then asked me to leave like I was the problem. This has severed my ties with Choice Privileges forever and if I could give this hotel less than one star, I would. We went across the street to the Best Western Plus where I was greeted by the nicest front desk lady in all my travels, and she heard my complaint about the Comfort Suite Reedding-Shasta Lake across the street, and told me this happens to people quite often. We stayed here earlier this week on the way back home to the Bay Area from Ashland, Oregon. Experience was mixed. The room cost around $200 a night. The beds were comfortable and there was a large seating area, but there were a few things broken (like the clothes hook on the back of the bathroom door) and the temperature controls were sub-par (room was either noisy with a chill blast when the a/c was on, or stiflingly hot). There were a lot of parking spots and a nice lobby area where I watched the Warriors beat the Celtics to clinch their 7th NBA championship. They have a small exercise center and a pool but we didn't use either. We purchased drinks and snacks from the front desk and ordered pizza from a local chain as there was no restaurant on site or nearby. Will try other hotels next time we are in the area. read more

Stayed here July 9-11, upon checking the hotel was aware of their TV services changing. Both nights we had no TV, we have a few kids in the room. We just felt stupid for not figuring out how to work the TVs. Normally I realize it's not a huge deal and my family can suck it up with no TV. My complaint is for the manager Cassandra. She was extremely rude and extremely loud. In a crass attitude. I manage as well, and I would never speak to my members this way. Even for an unfortunate thing. I realize as a manager we can't control it all, but your attitude is one thing you can control. Word of advice beware of the manger. Upon arrival we asked if we would be able to use a different credit card for payment than the one we had provided over the phone to reserve our room. We were told that we could and they used that new card to make payment. Upon our return home we discovered that they had reversed the charges off the preferred card and charged the original card which resulted in overdraft fees for us. Food Check in was super easy & the girl at the counter was very down to Earth. I requested to be on the 3rd floor & I got it :) The room was a lil smaller than what I expected. It looked clean til I went into the bathroom & saw a nose ring on the soap tray & hair stuck on the shower wall Seems like y'all need to hire someone who actually cleans. Aside from that, everything else looked clean. The bed was HARD/FIRM AF, it's so uncomfortable. I booked for 3 adults & a toddler...but got 6 pillow. The PILLOWS are the size of throw pillows!! I had to ask for more. Walls are thin AF too. I can hear every darn person walking by in the hallway & when they close their doors. I can hear the next door's tv which was on all night & passed 1am when my mom went to bed. I'm super sensitive to noise & I already know I'll be tired tomorrow from lack of sleep, because of the noise. Breakfast was meh! Waffles are dried, it breaks apart easily. I've had way better ones at other hotels. Only fruit was oranges ‍ For $185, this was NOT a good experience for my family & I & definitely NOT worth the price tag. read more

Let me start this with - There was a break in to a car in the parking lot during my stay here! Furthermore, the hotel couldn't share CCTV footage with law enforcement because there were two trucks parked that blocked the view! It was absolutely heartbreaking to see the couple trying to contact the hotel and work with law enforcement and their insurance miles away from the comfort of their home. Apart from that, Rooms are comfortable. The cleaning crew stopped by everyday to redo the beds and replace towels. Breakfast was a good spread and open until 10am on the weekends. But with the turn of events, I don't think I'll be coming back here. It doesn't feel like a safe area. read more

This was a decent place to stay when in Redding. It was about an hour drive to Burney Falls and less than 10 min drive to Sundial Bridge and Turtle Bay Exploration Park. Lots of places to visit nearby including Mt Shasta and Lassen Volcanic Park just to name a few. We had two room suites with two queen beds and a sofa bed in each room. They gave us adjacent rooms which was very nice for keeping tracks of kids. I didn't even have to request. I knew those were limited. Kids under 18 stay free. The hotel also had a heated swimming pool but it felt cold. I had my legs submerge but I couldn't get my whole body into the water. I was just cold. Kids had no problems and they had a great time. I was able to get into the hot tub after waiting. There was a control timer on the wall to activate it. The pool area though had covered machines. It was a small area already then you had this gigantic machines that could be a safety hazard. The breakfast was also descent. They had the usual waffle maker that took two minutes to make. There was also another cooker for small waffles. Kids loved these. Also available were cereals, yogurt, breads, boiled eggs, milks (even almond milk), juices, coffee, teas, hot chocolate and sausage and eggs. The lady at the breakfast buffet didn't seem too friendly but I saw her clean the counters and tables. Maybe just not happy with people eating. It couldn't have been me because I ate like a bird lol. The cleanliness of the rooms were inconsistent. The microwave was not cleaned in one of the rooms. It even had remnants of the pizza box from previous guest. The refrigerator in the same room wasn't very cold compared to the other room. The exhaust fan was clean and quiet in one while the other was very noisy and covered with black dust. The bathroom sink was cracked also. The housekeeper looked like she was going to quit anytime soon. Not friendly at all but we left her a nice tip and hopefully that would cheer her up some. The sofa bed was dirty and the other sofa bed didn't have any linens. I'm a tea drinker so the coffee!tea maker was a nice touch. And everything included was individually wrapped. There was a hair dryer that was bolted into the wall in the bathroom and a flat iron in the closet. It's perfect for families with kids if you're not a perfectionist. Reservation was a breeze with booking.com. Check in and check out we're quick too. We paid $146. Plus tax for each room. read more

It was pretty evident this was going to be a different experience from the beginning when I walked into the lobby and took my place in line to check in then witnessed the front desk clerk already agitating about the phone ringing and complaining about people with Washington drivers licenses staying there (apparently we have longer-than-usual ID numbers). When I got to the front of the line and requested to check into the two adjoining rooms I had reserved she said that would be impossible as they had no adjoining rooms left. When I tried to resolve the situation by asking for two adjoining rooms that might be different prices (willing to pay the difference if they cost more or eat the difference if they cost less) she--in between several exasperations about the continually ringing phone--connected me to her manager who explained the situation more concisely and clearly. Willing to settle for rooms that were not adjoining but still quite near to each other I checked into one of the rooms. My wife then came in to check into the other room (I couldn't check in to both, for whatever reason), she asked for the manager's contact info to leave feedback. At that point the clerk flipped and said she would not be giving my wife a room. When my astonished wife protested the clerk then claimed my wife had raised her voice and she was going to call the police! After several minutes of going back and forth with the clerk who was only becoming more animated and irrational we opted to leave the hotel altogether. Fortunately we were able to find another one with vacancies (and adjoining rooms) less than 5 minutes away. That said, we will never be returning to this Comfort Suites location to be harangued and threatened by a clerk who clearly did not have the training, aptitude, or skills to be a customer-facing employee. There was no justification whatsoever for her to react like that and leave us scrambling to find another hotel after we made these reservations here weeks ago and expected to have a secure stay locked in. read more

Freeway was noisy and the air conditioner in the room was very very loud,sounded like a old car trying to turn over. Night clerk was short and not helpful. We requested a quiet room away from the freeway side. When we entered the room.it was on the freeway side and you could hear the traffic. When I call up and request a another room stating the about ,she stated it was not on the freeway side ,but on the off ramp side! Really that was a very unprofessional statement. Then she stated that if we changed current room, the currently room had been available since we entered it. Which I felt she was laying a guilt trip on me.So we stayed in the room. Another issue is when we wanted to take our shower in the morning we could not find the soap! When we called the front desk, we were told that they had not received their shipment and ran out of soap .When we ask what are we supposed to do, she said "Just use the shampoo!" We were not told of this issue when we checked in. She showed no empathy in regards to this issue. We have been traveling over 50 years and never heard of any hotel running out of soap. Another issue when I ask where I could get some cold water, the girl at the desk took me that I would need to go to the gym to get. Upon my return my husband ask where I went. I told him I had to go to the gym to obtain cold water. He pointed to the lemon water and ask why I didn't use that. first, I didn't know it was there , the clerk heard me and said oh! What an enjoyable stay! We have to go to great lengths to find a hotel that doesn't fill its rooms with some sort of fragrance. My wife has chemical/fragrance sensitivity. We never really know how it will go until we show up and give it the "sniff" test. We found this room to be what we had asked for. Their cleaning supplies are free from even having what is sometimes called "fresh scent." We also needed a little extra time for check out and were easily accommodated. The suite was quiet and comfortable and wonderfully clean. Enjoyed the breakfast as well. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. We will book again! read more

Another reviewer said "The mattress was like a board atop some springs." and that's accurate. I'm the type that can sleep anywhere, and even I had trouble getting comfortable on that bed. It was also pretty loud, thin walls, whatever. You heard every door closing, every person walking, every water pipe running. Even the neighbor snoring. A brand new hotel, opened April 2014 with very few guests. Why, do you ask? It is more expensive than the other hotels in nearby Redding (around $120 a night), a lot of strange people in the direct area (they appeared to be actively taking meth or some other similar drug), it was loud at night because of the sound of a nearby semi truck stalled for hours with the engine on. The breakfast is only served between 6:30 AM and 9:30 AM, let me sleep in please! No food vending machines or food delivery options provided in the room. In the morning (after barely sleeping) I found someone had tried to break into my car while it was parked in this hotel parking lot. I was told by the person working the front desk this was not the first issue with crime in their parking lot and they would review the tapes and file a police report for me. update: I received an email from the manager of the hotel, alleging there is no crime at this hotel as they have only been open for six weeks and they refunded me the room, which was very nice of them. They allege they will be upping the security from now on. When the hotel alleged they filed a police report on my behalf for the crime/damage to my car, it turns out that untrue. It will cost me between $500-800 to repair the damages to my car, not covered by insurance. read more

I stayed at the comfort suites for business doing travel nursing but it wasn't the best. When I first got to the hotel, I asked the lady at the front desk about possibly staying long term and she rudely replied saying they don't allow long term stays. I called throughout my stay to speak to the manager and they were never available. The wifi was slow to the point where I couldn't even use it and the business center's computer was down so in the end I had to go to the library to get any business done. My key card stopped working 3 times during my stay which I didn't find out about until I made it all the way up to my room and had to come back down to the check in desk after working 12 hour shifts 6+ days in a row. Our experience at Comfort Suites Redding-Shasta Lake was horrible. Their front desk management can only be described as hostile and aggressive. While checking in, the front desk agent, Chad, was unhelpful and could not figure out how to verify our booking. When I followed up (politely) pointing out that he incorrectly input my information into the system, he became defensive and aggressive. I chalked it up to it being a long day and didn't think much of it. Upon checking out, I received an additional charge to my card. I called to inquire about it and spoke to Cassandra who was rude, unhelpful, and vindictive. She could not provide a valid reason for these charges and proceeded to berate me, yell at me, and hung up saying "it's her word against mine and she will make sure I do not get my money back". This is appalling customer service- mistakes happen and I do not inherently fault her for the erroneous charge, but what could have been resolved in 5 minutes now has turned into a massive dispute. There are plenty of other hotels in the same price range in the same vicinity. I highly recommend finding another facility. It is not worth anyone's time or money to be treated so horribly and unfortunately based on other reviews, this is not an isolated incident. read more

We stayed at this hotel on 10/08/23, and we had a good overnight stay. We stayed again on our way home on 10/13/23 and it was a different story. We had reserved an accessible room with one bed, as my wife is in a wheel chair. We arrived later in the evening only to find the we got had two beds and was not an accessible room. It was late and we just wanted to go to bed. My wife is a diabetic and I put her insulin pen in the refrigerator. In the morning, I found that her insulin pen was frozen solid. We packed up and went to check out. I told the front desk about the problems we had encountered at the hotel. The desk clerk was extremely rude and told me that the reservation they had in their computer did not list an accessible room. I told her that was not what I had reserved and she started arguing that it was. I then told her about the destroyed insulin pen. She told me I had put it in the freezer. I told her that that was not the case. I then told her I wanted our receipt and to talk with a manager. She said she was done, turned abruptly and walked away to an office out of sight. After calling out several times with no response I rang a bell on the counter. Another clerk, who identified herself as the on duty manager came out. This is not a very welcoming place. I was checked in by a woman name Shannon. She looked so pissed off that I felt like she really didn't want to be there. She was very rough and definitely had an attitude. In addition, this place is not very comfortable. The pillows are too tall that they gave me a stiff neck in the morning. The curtains are sheer so I woke up at 6am due to the brightness. The floors and walls are thin so you can hear everything around you and people walking above you. Honestly if my company didn't put me up in their hotels against my will I would go somewhere else, no question! I had a bunch of points built up over the last year practically living in the comfort inn over the summer on business. I needed to use them before they ran out. I also needed a hotel in Redding. It was only going to be one night and it was free so I thought I'll give it a try. To my surprise this was they best of the Choice/Clarion/Comfort Inns I have stayed at. It was clean, quite, nice showers, and staff was helpful. What a relief! I can't say I will ever spend my own money on this chain of hotels but if you are looking for a place in Redding and the Hampton is full you should be ok here. read more

We arrived in the late evening after a full day of driving. When we arrived at our room, it was unclear if it had been cleaned. The bed looked like it had been made quickly after someone had taken a nap. There were three pillows on one side and one on the other, it was flat on the bed as though someone had recently slept there. The extra blanket was wadded up and shoved into a shelf with the extra pillow also jammed in to hold it in place. I found a toy on the floor. We called the front desk to ask if it had been cleaned. We weren't excited about switching rooms and it isn't a great feeling to wonder if the sheets are clean. The front desk clerk appeared put out by my question even saying something to the effect of "do I have to find you another room?" It appeared I was viewed as "high maintenance". At one point she said "I'm sorry, there are supposed to be 4 pillows on the bed". I replied there were a correct number of pillows but it was unclear if they had been used. I was told a member of the cleaning crew was autistic and had probably been the one to clean the room. We were so tired we left it at that. We tried to watch tv but it kept freezing and the volume was broken. My daughter turned it up to 52 without any change in volume. There was zero acknowledgement of our situation. There was no offer to look at what we were asking about or offering a discount for being in a questionable situation. You can definitely hear the freeway traffic. I can see why there aren't many reviews for this hotel on Yelp or anywhere else... because it's an AWESOME location and ridiculously comfortable, clean and classy. Three C's. We moved here from the Red Lion which was a haunted house in the making. Just know whatever the Motel 6 clientele likes to do us also brought next door to the Lion... But I digress. Place is the stuff of dreams. Rooms are huge, NEW (opened just a year ago) and everything is cleaner than your grandma's house covered with couch protectors. I may have been the first person to sit on the throne in the bathroom. Staff are awesome and nice and accommodating as well. Smaller place and family oriented so it's nicer and less trashier than the Red Lion (aka 3-figure Motel 6). The swimming pool and jacuzzi are indoor and extremely nice! The gym is very small with three machines but worked for me since nobody else was there when I was. Could be better but it's all new and shiny so it don't matter. Rooms all include a couch and nice work desk which suited me perfectly... Would come back again and again and almost want to delete this review to keep it a best kept secret of a place but they deserve to have higher ratings on Yelp. Especially since the negative reviews seem slanted at the billing problems they had than the awesome and new facilities and rooms here. HIGHLY RECOMMEND. So much so I Caps-Locked that. Breakfast isn't anything to write home about but that's probably my only complaint. It does have eggs, waffle maker and delicious gravy biscuits and the usual yogurt or bagels, etc.. But yeah it actually doesn't sound that bad now that I wrote it out.. just trying to convince some people to not come here so I don't get sold out when I want to come :) read more

Thieves work here and lie to say they didn't steal. Stole our iPad right after we left to get dinner and gas. Rummaged through our bags as well. What else were you looking for? At 3 am (when breakfast shift starts) we heard women laughing. Asking eachother 'how many rooms did you get last night' Never, will we stay here again. Lost business of loyal guests. That what happens when you're dedicated to being loyal thieves. We were given room 109, which is the worst. We were told not to ask for it next time. Well, technically we asked for a quiet room or we could go elsewhere. I understand noise, freeway noise, loud guests, but having something stollen from you and questioning them makes you loose all respect. My first impression of this property is like a brand new box of cheap tissues. Spotlessly new, pretty to look at, and rubs your nose raw. The location is only a few years old, so I was very impressed with its newness. The exterior and lobby look very inviting. The rooms were also nice, with new bedding, nice furniture, glass tile accents in the bathroom. But settling in, I began to realize how small everything was. The walls started closing in, the bathroom was narrow, and the shower/tub tiny. It was like it was a cheap hotel trying really hard to be upscale. The pool was also sparkling, but tiny. Not sure if being indoors was good or bad. It sheltered us from the summer heat, but it was kind of dark and humid. Jacuzzi was also very nice, but had this weird foam after jets were activated. The staff made the difference, in a not so good way. The check-in process was all business. Not rude, but not friendly or welcoming in the least way. Wasn't sure if she was going to actively tow away all cars that didn't exactly match license plates. Wasn't sure if she was going to yell at my kids for walking across lobby with wet feet. But they did kick us out of the fitness center. I guess walking on the treadmill 45 minutes after closing time is too much noise for the property. We stayed here because my go-to hotels in Redding were sold out. I think I would have been more satisfied if priceline list view didn't have it as a three star. More like a two, two and half tops. If you're going to pay three star prices, oxford suites is even better, despite being older. read more
