Please be wary of this guy! I was charged $350 for Ron to show up at my house (at the incorrect time) and he spent literally no more than 5 minutes diagnosing the leak on the side of my house. Long story short, his diagnosis was COMPLETELY incorrect and due to his advice, I had the plumbing company cut the wrong pipe. I now have no water going to the hose bib on the side of my house, and the plumbing company had to come out three more times to fix the correct pipe. I still had to pay $350 and Ron didn't seem to care at all, and he didn't even attempt to offer a partial refund after his screw-up. i heard running water behind my bathroom wall. I had Sherlock come out to find a leak after having a plumber out and verifying that it wasn't in or under the house. I called after the plumber and In about 30 min Amid was able to find the leak in an old galvanized line that was split off the main line before coming to the house. Amid was east to talk to and walked me through everything he was doing. It was a flat rate fee to come out but worth it. I am not sure how I would have figured it out otherwise. I found this company based on the Yelp reviews. However, their huge error (causing my plumbers repair bill to double) and Sherlock refusing to respond immediately to correct the error made me rate them this low. I suspected a slab leak and hired Sherlock to locate it. They responded, and I was told by them that I had a cold water slab leak in hallway of my entrance. (This is marked by an X in the house hallway picture.) When the plumber responded and broke open the slab, the leak was no where to be found. I immediately called Sherlock and asked them to re respond and locate the leak which they mis diagnosed. This was at noon on a Monday. I was then told that they were booked for the day and could not respond till 24 hours later. I informed them that I had paid for their services a few days before, they badly misdiagnosed it and I requested they cancel a new job in order to take care of a job they previously failed at (mine.) I was then told they had no one available. I then called American Leak Detection in Ventura. American Leak Detection's owner responded 45 minutes later and located the leak approximately 5 feet away from where Sherlock said it was. This is marked by the lines at the foot of the step picture. (As you can see by the pics, its way off.) Now more demolition is needed, causing undue stress to my family. This has significantly increased (doubled the cost) of my slab leak repair, since the distance is so far off, the plumber is charging me for a whole new slab demo, repair and rough concrete. I emailed the Sherlock asking for a refund, and still no response. To Ron the Owner, please contact me and explain why a new customer is more of a priority than a customer that already paid for your services and you misdiagnosed, and how you will remedy the situation you have caused me. Clearly for Sherlock, doing as many $300 leak detection jobs a day as possible is more of priority than responding back to a customer that already paid you and correcting a huge error made by your technician. read more

I have used Sherlock Leak twice recently for two unrelated issues and they are fantastic ! The owner returned my call very quickly and both times sent his technician Amit out to my home within 24 hours Amit very quickly identified the leaks. One a faulty sprinkler valve and a leaky buried old galvanized pipe and the second time a hot water leak under the house. They have "ears" that no plumber does and are worth every penny Once the problem was identified my plumber was able to come over and get the job done without "hunting" for the problem. Called for a leak detection and Raanan arranged for Amit to come out a few hours later. Given the leak showed up as spots on our carpet overnight without any sign of its source, we were dumbfounded as to where it could be coming from. Amit showed up and was extremely thorough in searching for the source. Using all his technology and experience, he looked at every possibility and still could not find a leak. We ran appliances and still no signs. He had an idea that he may be able to access the ceiling area above where the spots had shown up by getting into the return airway, so he removed the filter and climbed up to find - voilá - the source of the mysterious leak! We were in a desperate state. A leak inside the cement slab was detected because we could feel the heat that radiated (110-120 degrees) but didn't know exactly where the leak was originating. To compound the issue, we had very few left over marble tiles (they were imported). We didn't want the contractor to just start breaking tiles with a hope and a prayer of landing on the pipe and the spot of the leak. So when Ron came the very next morning, we were nervous. It took effort to find this leak. He told us that it was a small leak, but he did not just want to give us a rough idea. After a bit of detective work, he marked the spot. We were hopeful. Sherlock Leak Detection is truly the best leak detector company I have ever used. They were originally recommended to me by my plumber who told me they are the best they use. I had them here this week when I had a leak in my yard on a main line, meaning I had to turn off the outside water to my irrigation when not using it. It was 33 gallons leaking each hour as reported by my water meter and by the water department Well sure enough, within an hour or so, they found the leak under some bushes and about 2 feet down!!! First, they listened to each of my valves to try to hear flowing water, and when that didn't help, they used air injected into the water line and used something to find the "hiss" of air leaking from a pipe. Amazing. But the thing that made it a pleasure working with them was their politeness, knowledge, concern for finding the issue, and reasonable price. As a sign of how dedicated they are, on Sunday night before they came on Monday morning (on time too), they reminded me to turn the water on outside and confirmed when they would be there the next morning. Ron came out to assess a leak I had going on in my backyard. I called just about noon, and he was able to come out around an hour after I called. He checked the back yard water lines, then also showed me that the water meter was slowly moving, indicating an active leak going on. He checked my sprinkler valves outside and found that one of those was making noise even when it was completely off.
