A+ for these folks. We had intially got someone from a locksmith advertising on line. They came and were awful - made the situation worse and kept trying to upsell me. Got rid of them - they tried to bribe me not to do an honest review - but then I found Sherman's and the guy immediately knew what had to be done and did it for a VERY reasonable price. My advice - stay away from the fakers and go with Shermans. Even if you have to wait a day or two it's more than worth it. read more

why use any other locksmith? Jeff and his staff are fantastic. Sherman's is what a lock & safe business was always like and is still today in 2024. I was referred to them by a competitor of Sherman's. Over the phone I told Jeff what I wanted. He promised to call back within 48 hours, her ordered the item, did not ask me for my credit card, he called within 48 hours as promised and the cost was very reasonable. Need I say more? When you live in an old house having a locksmith is essential. Sherman Lock and Safe is excellent. Recently the spindle in our front entrance door hardware broke. It is not possible to order parts for hardware that is more than 100 years old. Jeff was able to find a spindle and to reattach the door knobs, not an easy task. It works perfectly. Guess the do not have to many of these but.. I called with an issue with out store front door locking itself when it closes. We made an appointment for days later for them to come out and fix the lock. They told me someone would be there between the hours of 3pm-5pm. When 5PM came and went and no one arrived I called to ask if someone was still coming (5:15 PM). I got their VM stating they are closed (Close 5PM). They know what they are doing. I have had standard house keys cut that worked the first time. I have had a 2004 Lexus key cut that no one else (other than Lexus) were willing or able to do. They even said that I could save some money buying the key that they sold me (for a reasonable price) on Amazon the next time I needed a spare. You can't go wrong with this local, family run business. I called them up because I needed my locks changed and was easily able to schedule an appt for the next day. The woman that answered the phone was pleasant and cheerful as she took my information. The next day, I received a call letting me the locksmith was on his way. He changed out all 3 locks and made me five new keys in about 20 minutes. All the keys worked in all the locks unlike some of my other keys made at other places (I'm looking at you Ace Hardware). The prices seemed very reasonable to me and it was a snap to pay with a credit card. Love them. Hopefully, I won't have to call them back because I locked myself out taking out the garbage. read more

I recently bought a motorcycle with which I received only one key. I went to Home Depot to make copies, and they informed me that they don't make copies of motorcycle keys because the cartridge won't fit into their key cutting machine. I wasn't exactly sure what that meant, but one of the workers recommended Sherman's. So, I went to Sherman's and was surprised how quickly and cheap they made copies. Two keys in under 10 min for $8.50. He also helped to grind away a slight protrusion and took the time to show and explain to me the reason behind the grinding. Very friendly staff. I've used Sherman Lock for duplicating keys for a few years, they have always been great. I went there today and they were fast, courteous, and inexpensive. I was trying to remove my keys from the ring and they offered to just duplicate the ones I pointed out, still on the ring; and they were pleasant when all I had was a $20 bill for a charge of a few bucks. read more

Sherman Lock installed two very different types of locks: an electronic Schlage keypad on my front door and an 1800's antique-style lock on the 1/2" door to the basement. Since the house was built in 1800, some extra effort, creativity and custom installation was required and Sherman Lock came thru with flying colors and did not charge any extra for the work. read more

So I have one of those File sized Sentry water/fire proof safes... Literally the big clunker that doesn't fit anywhere but in the back of your closet. It has a spring loaded handle to open it. Some how this slipped off its track. Of course this is where I keep all the documents I need to travel. So in a pinch I called Sherman and they said bring it down for a peek. This guy was the best. Broke out his flashlight and his lock pick... Popped it open and didn't charge me a dime. A little good will goes a long way. Im a customer with this guy for life.
