After reading all the positive reviews I thought I'd give them a try with something simple--replacing my headlight. I called and they said just to bring it in, no appointment necessary. So I brought it in around noon and they jumped right on it. Knew the right way to get to the headlight, had the highest quality part, replaced the bulb--all in about 15 minutes! Got our car smog check done here. The owner is very shy but kind. I ended up waiting because it was done so quickly. He's smog certified so it was super easy to log into the dmv website afterwards and finish that paperwork and fee. Highly recommend this place. The only downside is the guy who runs the convenience store attached. He is maskless and CONSTANTLY smoking and hocking loogies outside. It's gross. The auto center man doesn't wear a mask either but he works outdoors so I get it. Not great to do that, but I get it. read more

Apparently I was taken advantage by the classic unethical used car sales person. The car John sold me had over $3000 worth of repairs. I guess that's why he was pressuring me with "other people that were ready to pay cash already." He promised a new headlight after purchase- didn't happen. His fake smile also disappeared after I purchased the car. Very interesting how he made me feel like I wasn't even in the room. Beware of unethical snake oil salesmen and cheap businesses like this one. This is the reason why I only buy and service my cars at reputable and official brand dealers ever since. read more

The test took about 5-10 minutes total and that includes the transmission to the DMV indicating that my vehicle had passed the test. Vick-is the guy I dealt with at this station. I would trust him with my girlfriend and ATM card. My experience began by being towed to this station as it is the closest AAA blessed repair station near my house. I was VERY skeptical. I have a favorite mechanic but...he just happens to be 25 miles away. "Sorry previous mechanic but I'm breaking up with you- no don't cry - it's a distance thing." I had a fuel pump issue and it was diagnosed for free. Then I was given options and they were all honest and reasonable. My definite go-to for any auto need. I moved to the Valley (and LA in general) less than a year ago, and after such a drive (from Austin) - of course there were car needs to brush up. I've been here for oil changes, brake replacements - even windshield wiper updates during rainy-night fiascos! And they always take care of me right away - or let me know when to call them to do so. Today was such a day - an oil change - to remind me to write this review! Vick had other cars in front - so instead of waiting, he told me to call him an hour from to check in. I got some record-shopping done at Freakbeat, called him, and he told me to come on by to fit me in between his other clients. I zoomed by (as quickly as traffic and construction could allow me) and he got me in right away. He's really great at explaining what my car needs, without making me feel silly for not knowing much about cars. He also told me my options, and when I considered synthetic oil - which would be more expensive - he told me to not go that route, since it wasn't what would benefit my car. And I very-much appreciate that he delivers the truth over profit. He's always busy, which proves his popularity, yet always efficient and reliable - in that he doesn't waste one's time, whilst always being there for them, and is honest and prompt on top of it all! - to warrant my return service. He explained how I needed coolant and transmission-fun for my next visit - without trying to hustle it for today's trip, and while explaining it in a way I could understand. So yes - I will be back to Vick for those exact things. And, oh yes - the brakes work great, as LA traffic is certain to ascertain soon-after. Very grateful for Vick's work. If you read my review about Just Tires, then you know the story. After getting the run around from them, I called these guys who gave me a quick quote over the phone. Brought my car in for an oil change, and was out in 25 minutes. Price was 1/2 of what Just Tires and Jiffy Lube wanted to charge. I really like these guys. They're a small shop, not some big box store, so they take care of their customers. They know customer service means more business and referrals. When it comes to mechanics, I'm usually a complainer. But this mechanic, John and his team, are amazing! John is friendly, honest, and efficient - all things you want when dealing with your vehicle. I took in my Toyota Celica because the brakes had been squeaking for a little while. John came highly recommended from my dear friends, and since my former mechanic packed up and moved to Hawaii I went to John. I told him the problem, he took it around the block, then brought it in, jacked it up and took the tires off to examine the brakes. He actually let me walk over and look and here's where I know he's honest. He showed me that for safety purposes my back brakes needed immediate repair, but that my front brakes still had some life in them, if only a one or two. This was perfect for me because I couldn't afford to get all four brakes done at the same time. He quoted me a reasonable price and said it would take a few hours. In an hour and a half he had my car done and his son came to give me a lift back to the shop. Also, while I was waiting for John to give me a price quote, one of his team members noticed that my license plate was dented. I had been backed into by an SUV a few years back. Without hesitating, he unscrewed the plate, hammered it out, and then put it back. No charge. HOW SWEET! How often do you hear a mechanic being referred to as "sweet"? I have had no problem with the work and look forward to going back to get my front brakes done. I know I can trust John and that means a lot to me since I spend so much time driving. Vahik and his team are great. I took me and my bf's car here initially for an oil change last year and I got great service at a decent price. Both cars were done in about an hour. When my A/C stopped working on my car this month, the 1st place I thought of was to bring it to Vahik since he gives complimentary diagnoses. I decided to proceed with him fixing the expensive problem b/c I just can't go without A/C in this hot LA weather. He did a great job with the part replacement and repair and I was on my way. BUT, weeks later, the A/C started blowing hot air again, so I went back to Vahik to look into the problem because I thought it was fixed. He hooked up my car to the diagnosis machine and assessed the engine with his colleague and found another problem with some loose wiring/circuit . He told me to leave my car for a few hours and repaired it free of charge. Now that's what I'm talking about! :-) Sucks that I had to take the car back since the problem wasn't fixed the first time, but I really loved the customer service i received and the time they spent on my vehicle without asking for more money. Hopefully I don't have to go back anytime soon, but if I do, at least I know I can trust Vahik. He's a very honest man. *On a side note. if you plan to use the Yelp Deal, please let them know before they complete the invoicing. read more

These guys are the BEST. I first came to them because of the good reviews on Yelp. They provided great service and it was done about when they said it would be done. No BS. I have since been back a couple of times and every time I leave there I am grateful that I found them. My car has a few years and miles on it so it requires semi regular attention. More than once they have given me options that were less expensive and considerate of my limited budget when they could very easily have stuck it to me. I needed some maintenance on my car and a friend referred me to Vick. My battery had died and my tires were just about worn out to the rim. Not only did I get a great deal on the products, but I received fast and excellent service. I had previously taken my car to one of those chain auto repair shops and they quoted a ridiculous amount to me. They also told me that I needed to change the bearings on my tires because they were making a strange noise when I would brake. Not only did Vick charge me way less than what I was quoted at the chain store, but my tires stopped making the noise and I didnt need to change my bearings.
