I had the keys to my BMW stolen and i thought that having AAA would be a huge stress relief for me but unfortunately they chose this place as the locksmith to handle my key replacement needs. when i got the call from whoever it was from this foul company, he tried to tell me that someone had already called about my car and that a scam service showed up and tried to work on my car for hours and did nothing but messed up the computer in my car and that it wouldnt even be driveable anymore. he said that his company showed up after this scam comany did and was not able to cut a key bc of the faulty locksmith work before. i told the man that he was wrong that ive never had anyone come out and do any kind of work on my car locksmith wise as well as anything else and this man and i literally ended up in a whole argument about it. come to find out by the end of the call ( because he used my neighbors name ) he was getting me and my neigbor mixed up bc they used to have the same year make and model bmw that i do but the colors are different.. i tried explaining that to him and he refused to believe that he was mistaken..what should have been enough for him was the fact that my neighbors name is shawn and there is no one named shawn on my AAA policy so besides the fact that i had figured out his confusion already it would have literally been impossible for him to be speaking about my car being that the owner of my bmw is not a shawn.. little fun fact, the car has to be legally registered to you for AAA to accept the claim and payout for any kind of locksmith services..but not even that WELL KNOWN fact was enough for this man. so long story longer, this man literaly argued with me despite being completely in the wrong and was proven so many different ways but he also was so forth coming with A TON of my neighbors personal information and didnt even hesitate to try and fill me in about all kinds of not my business. TLDR: Sherman Security & Lock is competent, thoughtful, and the only Locksmith I will ever call or recommend while I live in Thurston County. I don't know if I have written a yelp review before, but I needed to for these two champions. Sherman's dispatch, Todd, (did not catch title, sorry!) and their Locksmith, whose name I did not catch unfortunately but will talk about later, dealt with me at my worst, in absolute crisis mode. I had to call as many locksmiths as I could FROM Seattle to do a job in Tumwater. I unfortunately sent at least one other "locksmith" "company" from "the area" to help some people I locked out a couple hours prior. Todd was the second or third dispatch I talked to and he was calm, thoughtful, and exquisitely blunt. He said Sherman was IN LACEY and a Locksmith from Sherman can be there in 20 minutes because they were actually IN LACEY. I said we already tried a couple places I found on google before Sherman and their Locksmiths are XX amount of minutes away. He said they're not reputable and to be careful of scam "locksmiths" you find on google. Here are the important things that Todd told me the first time that I should have listened to more carefully: BEWARE OF SCAMMERS -They will say they're local and they're not, the dispatch is on the other side of the country -The dispatch will call someone """local""" and say they're an hour away and you may not have a """locksmith""" for 2 days| -The person they send out to you WILL NOT KNOW HOW TO PICK LOCKS, they will drill any lock you present them with and charge you for it, HARD. Before we hung up, he gave me the most important piece of advice from the whole dang fiasco: If the other guy gets there first, tell the person who is there, "if they try to drill the deadbolt, SEND THEM AWAY." Told the locked out party, immediately, and the other "locksmith" showed up a few minutes later and tried to get into the garage door to avoid drilling the deadbolt (his only other option, great call, Todd) and did a pretty substantial amount of damage to the garage door. Then Sherman's Hero Locksmith showed up. They got the locked out party in in just a few minutes (door lock 1000% intact), and I heard nothing but glowing reviews about how well he treated everyone involved. While the Locksmith from Sherman got the lock taken care of, I got a call from dispatch about how upset they were with me that "their technician got there and someone was already working on the lock." They gave me an absolutely unintelligible company and technician name and I asked them if their guy could pick the deadbolt. The dispatch said no, their only option was to drill the deadbolt. I said absolutely not and resolved I it as kindly as I could. It turns out the technician from the scam dispatch was extraordinarily upset with me, the locked out party, et al. because he drove so far and did all this work and this other COMPETENT LOCKSMITH was on their way already. Between the time I got the call from the obscenely upset scam dispatch until they hung up on me when I denied their service, two things happened: *The snake oil "locksmith" tucked tail and ran basically as soon as Sherman's Locksmith showed up* ***Sherman's Locksmith had already finished the job and provided extraordinary service while they did it*** There's will be only one Locksmith in my phone for Thurston and I'm proud to say it's Sherman Lock & Security. read more

They service a wide variety of cars. We had them work on a retro land rover and they had to work extra time to modify the key while no one else would do it. Mobile service, offered a AAA discount. We lost ALL our keys to a keyless car. I called 6+ locksmiths that could only duplicate an existing key. ACE Hardware can make a key as well, but again, only if there is an existing key. Sherman Security erased my prior keys, coded two new keys, and cut the emergency entry key in less than two hours. So I called Sherman Lock after attempting to program a keyless remote for my car... Unfortunately my car had an aftermarket alarm system that disables the started if the alarm isn't deactivated. Well my attempt to program failed, my cars alarm was blasting every time I opened the door, my neighbors were complaining and I couldn't start my car. I called them and the gentleman on the phone talked me through how to disable my alarm (not gunna reveal how, want to keep a secret). He did this just out of a willingness to help, nothing else. Hopefully once my next pay check comes around I can give them a call again to come out and program my remote properly. Thank you so much for helping me! I highly recommend Sherman Security! My husband and I were locked out of our home on accident (faulty garage door-- it opens/closes on its own sometimes) on a Sunday afternoon around 3pm...after an hour of trying to get inside, I called Sherman Security expecting them to be closed. I got ahold of Todd who took my info and gave me the quote and told me it'd be about 45 minutes...this would put me at at least 2 hours being locked out and it was an emergency situation where I needed to get inside ASAP. I let him know the emergent situation and that I needed faster service....Todd shows up 15 minutes later and rushed to the door and got us in the door within minutes. I called on Monday to get my vehicle's ignition cylinder lock replaced. Todd answered and was very helpful and friendly. He said he was probably unable to make it that day but would call the next day when he was on his way. He gave me the quote over the phone and I happily agreed to it. When I hadn't heard anything by Tuesday afternoon, I called and left a message. Called again Tuesday evening and left another message. I called this (Wednesday) morning and left another message. It's close to end of day Wednesday and nothing. I'm being ghosted by a locksmith! I hope others get more responsiveness but be forewarned of what happened to me. Will update if I ever get a return call. UPDATE: Todd called back and apologized profusely. He inadvertently marked my number as spam. He is scheduled to be here tomorrow. Will update this review once the work is complete. UPDATE 2: Todd showed up as promised. Unfortunately the issue is not something he could repair (not his fault). He did not charge us a show up fee as he didn't return the call or show up before, which was appreciated. Will definitely call Todd again should the need for a locksmith arise. read more

I spent about five hours calling various locksmiths to see who could reasonably make a duplicate key for my car and program the key fob. Sherman Security & Lock stated it was something they could do over the phone. They are supposedly located in the local area. It's impossible to tell since they don't appear to have a brick and mortar building. The locksmith stated he would contact me on Wednesday. No phone call from Sherman Security & Lock. I called again to ensure the service was still a go on Thursday. The gentleman that answered the phone assured me that the service was still on. He didn't mention not coming for service on Wednesday at all but said he would come on Thursday afternoon. He even asked if he gave me an hours notice, if that would be enough time for me to meet him at my car. I said yes of course. Thursday came and went with zero efforts from Sherman Security & Lock to contact me. A totally unreliable locksmith. It's so easy to call or text even to just said you are unable to do the service. It cost me two days of waiting to get keys cut for my car. I finally contacted the dealership and to my surprise, the dealership was even less than the $378 for the key & $ 78 for the key fob plus whatever programming fee Sherman Security & Lock would have charged. Beware of any business that will ghost you and not show once, let alone twice after committing to complete a service. Lame.... read more
