just like the name, thing are cheaper and selections are amazing. The staff is super friendly from stockers to the cashier and including the guy manning the ice cream store. I ended up getting few pastries from local company, bomber from local brewery and on the way out, grabbed scoop of ice cream for around $2.50 and it was delicious. If you have lot of grocery shopping to do, this is the place you must stop by.

I was sure I had written a review of this grocery the last time I was out here, but either I forgot or it mysteriously vanished. This is a no frills grocery with lots of pluses and a few disadvantages. They have good prices and carry some real bargain items, rather plain produce, but some very nice items, like a good selection of quality cheese from local Rogue Creamery as well as specialty organic and gluten free packaged goods on par with my home town high end full service stores. The organic pasta selection rivals the Boulder CO Whole Foods and much of the gluten free specialty goods come from producers based in Boulder County. The staff is very helpful in guiding customers to products as the store feels a bit disorganized in layout. It's plain and older but always seems very clean. You need to bag your own purchases but they do provide bags if you need them. As an out of town visitor, I did. My hosts shop here fairly regularly for certain products. The parking lot is ample for all size vehicles with spaces far larger than I am used to at home. I usually find myself here each time I visit Medford.

Upon arrival in Ashland I did some research on grocery shopping in the area. I came across Food For Less as being open 24/7; with my severe jet lag I was awake very early and decided to check it out. I have to say I was pleasantly surprised and quite impressed with the assortment as well as quality of the store. First of all: staff is super friendly, not unimportant to me. Secondly: I noticed a pretty well-stocked beauty and health department that puts Trader Joe to shame. Certain items are not super cheap, but the fact Food For Less sells this is pretty impressive. Their fresh produce section may not be the very very best, but I'm sure I can find good things here. There's an organic section too with great salads at a sweet price. I even noticed Thai eggplant and rather sad looking ginger roots. I'll try their fresh produce next time. Moving on from fresh produce I came across a big bulk department. Anything we need but sometimes just a little less or a little more is being sold here. Even a variety of spices. It's basically what high-end stores such as Whole Foods in LA or other natural stores are selling. Good for you, Food For Less! Their meat and fish department offers a good variety. I've never seen that many tortillas in a supermarket and an aisle of Latin products made me go "wow!!" All in all: this store has a lot to offer. I will most certainly buy items here. I'm not a huge fan of prepackaged bread, so that I won't buy here. Other than that: prices are good and their assortment is impressive. With a staff that is helpful and friendly you can be sure I'll become a regular. And open 24/7.... what's not to like?

I'm not particularly a Trader Joe's fan. I take issue with the very large percentage of Trader…read moreJoe's items being pre-packed in plastic. Putting this aside , this is a great Trader Joe's. However, I am taking one star off because most of the golden berry containers contained some moldy fruit at the bottom. I'm severely allergic to mold so this is definitely a pet peeve of mine. Now for the good! The store was very clean, including the bathrooms that were sparkling clean. There was abundant staff around, so I could always find help; including when I brought attention to the moldy golden berries. In the produce area, there were at least two employees if not three. I asked about the strawberry plums. One of the produce workers shared that the strawberry plums are wonderful, and because of strawberry flavor, the plums are ready when firm. I had been hesitant to buy them because they all seemed quite hard... but she was definitely right and that container of plums did not last very long with us at all... so good! Checking out was easy Peezy with each checkout stand having an employee present and the employee I was helped by was super friendly, packed everything up efficiently and well. 2026 #12

In a time of both "shrinkflation" and inflation, Trader Joe's does a great job of providing top notch products with competitive prices. I buy a lot of things here, including pasture-raised eggs, half-and-half, whipping cream, organic butter, large 72% dark Belgian chocolate bars that I use in cooking, potatoes, organic produce of various kinds, ground, turkey, ground lamb, turkey at Thanksgiving, prime rib at Christmas, artisan cheese, Australian, red shrimp, the best beef bone broth, as well as chicken and turkey bone broth that I have ever purchased, and many seasonal items. I thoroughly enjoy how sweet, happy -- and knowledgable -- all of the employees are. It is such a pleasure to go there. It's sort of like attending a party with friends while grocery shopping!!! I would give our Trader Joe's 1000 stars if I could. Thank you for all that you do for Southern Oregon.

As a housewife who does all the grocery shopping and a former child who grew up watching The Price…read moreis Right, I have a good grasp on what items cost. I visited this location as someone who doesn't live in the area and was shocked to see that the prices are way higher than regular Costco and are equal to or sometimes even a dollar or two more than just buying the exact product at Walmart or Fred Meyer. For the price of 1 loaf of Franz gluten-free bread, $7.79 for less than a dollar more I could go to Costco and get 2 loaves of Canyon Bakehouse gluten-free bread. 14 oz Tajin is $7.99. I can buy the exact same size from Walmart for $6.98. Here, 19 oz Mae Ploy canned coconut cream is $3.49 a can. Walmart online sells it individually and as a 6 pack for $2.58 per can. $3.59 for American Beauty 8 oz manicotti shells here. It's $3.49 at Fred Meyer in Medford. 16 ounces of jumbo Campfire marshmallows here are $3.39 whereas 16 oz Kraft Jet Puffed marshmallows are $2.99 at Fred Meyer in Medford. $8.69 for 24 Flav-R-Pac frozen corn cobettes or $2 for 6 Great Value frozen corn cobettes at Walmart. $14.19 for 2.125 lbs dried hash brown shreds here. Same size at Costco is $8.99. Costco sells in-store and ships #10 sized canned products so I'm confused why people are shopping here when the prices aren't wholesale, they're often slightly higher than retail at the local Fred Meyer and Walmart. There aren't many specialty products here for varied diets or cuisines, so if you're needing gluten-free or something more diverse than soy sauce or tortillas, you're going to need to order from elsewhere. I ended up buying a box of True Lemon (they didn't have the True Lime I came for.) Visited October 2024.
