We were here to visit this wonderful Mkt on 7/15/26....our Cartwrights in Grants Pass is much smaller and limited in selection understandably; so we wanted to check this Cartwrights in Medford....and of course, a stop at their deli was in order. My wife and I both ordered their Pastrami on rye, and it was delicious and filling..... I'll post pic s of both mine and her sandwiches- and you'll see a pic of mine to demonstrate the substantial helping of delicious pastrami. Oh and the broad selection of products is wonderful overall. GREAT produce section, and a well-stocked full grocery market. This is one of the best places in the area for beer, wine and other beverages. They have an area where you can order from a list of 50 beers and they have a beer cave. They have actually a surprisingly good organic produce selection as well as lots of other natural/organic grocery items. They have a large meat case but I unfortunately didn't see any pasture raised meat. Overall, still a good grocery store. read more

They are expensive in general, but I buy cuts of meat and recently I have been weighing them at home because one felt significantly light and it was over 3oz underweight. I just did 2 more and they were under. The guy at Cartwrights said they weigh them IN the package. People- weigh it yourself if you don't want to get ripped off. I loved visiting this Emporium of all things food, especially meat and cheese. I am not on the market for wine so I didn't go through their wine section. Everything did look absolutely wonderful except for the bread I wasn't buying bread anyway, so that was OK by me, but it's the reason I've put For rather than five stars for this swell place. They sold me a delicious bratwurst made in house which I cooked at home using the Dave's killer bread buns I found at the store. read more

I would like to have not had to leave a review, This was my first visit to Cartwright's Market, However [[HIGHLIGHT]]I did not see any signage that said "no backpacks"[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]], Since i ride a bike and my ID and such is in my backpack i do not feel comfortable leaving it at the door. I was told by the owner who was shopping to remove my backpack and set it at the front door. Which i did. This a high end grocery that offers almost everything your little heart can imagine. When visiting the area we always stop in to fill our growler ($16) and grab a couple of snacks. They offer made to order sandwiches and pizza. They have a huge selection of pre-made salads. Wine and beer selection is on point but the prices are a little above average. Because the prices are a little I couldn't image this being a the spot for your weekly grocery shopping. There's Winco for that! Its worth checking out if you are in the area. read more

Everything is homemade and tastes amazing! The market features an extensive selection of meats that are all high quality. The deli has a large menu all of which are prepared in house. My boyfriend and I got a pizza and salad to share, the leftovers lasted for days! The salad had a ton of meat on it, the meat is the lovely smell which will pull you in the store and send you walking towards the deli. There is a large spot to eat your deli food there too, which is nice. We bought some chocolate for dessert. Then we even came back after our trip and bought packaged salads for the airport. They were chock full of meats and veggies and a fair price. My boyfriend even got a 55+ discount from the friendly check out guy. Score! read more

I prefer grocery stores to restaurants when I travel for work. Cartwright's is a regular stop when working at MFR and an upgrade from foraging at Safeway. It's only open until 8 PM so I have to rush to get done so I can catch them before close. This is a place for vacationers looking to enjoy local flavors. They have a beer and wine bar and a good selection of bottles on the shelves as well as some local cheeses such as Rogue Creamery (at a premium price). If I were a local, I'd probably love the meat counter, but no matter how I angle it, I'm not going to get much cooking done in Medford (let alone be able to store it) so that makes most of the store irrelevant right away. But you're in luck if you can, because the meat counter looks stocked. I even saw elk sausage and they make their own BBQ sauces, marinades and jerky. They also have a good selection of local pastries, cakes and cookies if you prefer sweets. I haven't tried any of these things other than the jerky, but tbh the pnw standby Old Trapper is better. (You gotta go to the CA-NV border to find the next tier.) That said, I usually head straight to the to-go items in the refrigerated section. I've never been there when the pizza counter was open on Wednesday. Their meatloaf, spaghetti and chicken parmesan are all pretty good if salty. Staff are pretty friendly. Everyone seems pleased to be there. Lots of parking. It's a nice place to visit if you want to see something other than one of the big guys to find some produce and snacks but be prepared to spend your hard-earned money because this place is by no definition modestly priced. read more

We are newcomers to Medford. Several locals gave them a referral and we have enjoyed their high quality meat and fish. My husband is the chef in our family and he loves to shop the meat counter here. We came in for fresh, wild caught halibut. The piece we liked was a little too big so the butcher eye-balled the cut for the exact amount we were asking for! It was great to be able to find everything we needed for our dinner at one stop. I wish you could give ten stars! We just had the most amazing experience ever in a grocery store. We are trailer tripping through Oregon and a friend reccomended Cartwright's to us. What a beautiful store and awesome deli. They do a lot of things right here. The meat counter is beautiful. A lot of special cuts you won't find in box stores. Smoked meats, in-house smoked sausages and cured meats. The beer and wine selection- expanse and unique. The baked goods looked beautiful though we did not buy any. Which, as I'm driving down the freeway I now regret. A marionberry hand pie would be good about now! But the highlight of the visit was our Ruben sandwich, the 60 craft beers on tap and the awesome tap manager. She is very 'beer wise' and great at customer service. Actually, customer service is very good at Cartwright's. The Ruben was chock full of delicious smoked, thinly sliced corned beef. Slathered with 1000 island dressing and really good kraut that was not too overwhelming against the meat on toasted marble rye. My husband said that baked beans were full of burnt ends, but I wouldn't know because he cherry picked it before I got a bite. This used to be a somewhat upscale place. We enjoyed the consistency of their deli and their wine bar to this day is still pretty decent. Recently we've noticed their deli hours have become less consistent as well as the food. We have also noticed the growing number of homeless pillaging the store several times. In front of staff the walk about the store openly stealing and walk out. This seems to be a policy they have adopted and it honestly sickens us. The store is over priced already with not much outside what you can find at Winco for half the price but now through allowing & condo I g theft you've allowed hyper inflation and pass the buck to the hardworking class of people. We don't make a lot of money but we pull our share. Please stop passing the buck onto tax payers. read more

Skip the turkey aisle, however. Our thanksgiving meal was ruined by an overpriced 'organic' turkey breast (Marys Turkey) which was gamey smelling, tough and just the worst turkey ever purchased !!!! If you come here for the right things, then you'll probably agree with 5-stars for this place. So what are the 'right things'? Well, first, meat. Their meat counter is pretty amazing. It's gigantic, high-quality, and supported by excellent service. When we asked to get 3 steaks, the counter lady suggested we consider their family pack which was cheaper. Yay! Their sandwich deli is also fantastic. Unless you have a ridiculously large appetite, a half sandwich will probably be more than enough to fill you. I love their Italian Grinder, so consider that for your lunch. What else? Their beer tap bar and general drinks selection. Ursula does an awesome job there, and she can hook you up with something new. So, if you go for those 3 things, you're doing great. The best BBQ in town is at Cartwright Market where they have a house smoked meat deli all the time but on Sundays especially have a great spread of fresh Barbour. We got a rack of smoky short ribs we inhaled immediately. The store has perhaps the largest selection of beers and ciders on tap we had ever seen for mostly $4 per pint. Ya you read that right. Lots of specialty snack foods, frozen locally farmed yak and rabbit meat, insane meat sticks and a nice selection of produce. The staff are super friendly and really seem to like working there. Whether you're staying in the rogue valley or driving up i5 looking for a quick place to get road snacks - definitely give Cartwright's a visit. Now back to the ribs. read more

Cartwright's is about a mile from my home, which is very convenient They have a huge selection of fresh meat; however, NONE of it is grass-fed, grass-finished. I might be wrong but I think it all comes from feedlots. I don't think humanely-raised is on their radar screen so I don't buy meat there. Even though they advertise as an organic, natural grocery store the emphasis is on natural rather than organic. As those of us who eat organic know, the term natural doesn't have any real meaning or value other than the fact that it isn't plastic. Sooo ... I rarely buy vegetables there because they just don't have much to choose from that is organic. Oddly enough, they do have pasture-raised eggs, butter, whipping cream, and cream cheese. In a pinch, this is my go-to place for those products. They have fresh sliced mushrooms, both white and Crimini, which I appreciate and buy often. They have a wide assortment of all kinds of condiments, rubs for grilling, jarred salsas, etc. They do carry some of the brands that I use so I utilize Cartwright's as a back-up for those as well. They have a huge selection of wine, cheese, pates and other things for a party or get together. They do have a growler bar although I've never tried it. I have bought really good wines by the case there for a very good price. I found the people who work there to be very service-focused and kind. They appear to genuinely want to help you find whatever you need, which I deeply appreciate. This is a very large, well lit, spacious, and attractive grocery store. Went into Cortwright's to grab two corn dogs the other day. I've been going here for years!

We've had really good items from this store in the past, but today we bought a pumpkin pie at $15 and it's terrible. The pumpkin filling is runny and the crust uncooked. I'm thinking it was baked only half the time. We had to throw it away. Expensive and disappointing. Cartwright's, please be careful who you hire for baking. One more thing -- The young checkout woman looked really sick and she was talking to another woman about how sick she was. That made us feel really comfortable -- NOT!!! read more
