This is a typical old school restaurant/diner. They hand cut their own french fries and they make their meals from scratch. The portions are huge and the blackberry cobbler taste like it came from grandma. Don't dare leave without trying a cobbler or cake! The weight staff are all family and they're very sweet and kind And helpful. This place looks exactly like it did back into 50s. Charming and old school. Easy to find with a good amount of off street parking. I didn't notice specific handicapped spaces but the lot is paved and easy to walk. The entry door faces the parking lot. We were greeted on entry and told to sit anywhere. Seating is a mix of booths and stools at the counter. It was about half full when we were there after the breakfast rush. Menus are on the table. Our waitress took the drink order right away. She dropped off the drinks quickly and said she would come back for our food order. We had our food in less than five minutes! The Working man's breakfast had two eggs cooked as ordered, two pieces of sausage, grits, and a biscuit. I added gravy for $0.99. The biscuit and gravy are made in house and the sausage seemed like it came from a local supplier. Everything was excellent. I did add pepper to the gravy but that is a personal preference. My dining partner's Western omelet was packed full of ham and veggies. The hash browns were cooked to perfection and the biscuit held up to jelly very well. This is a definite stop if you are ever in Clyde and we plan to return to try their lunch menu. read more

This place gets three stars for being a stereotypical greasy spoon and our server was kind and attentive. I stopped here with a couple friends I was visiting nearby. We got our drinks and food fairly quickly and overall you get a lot of food for the money. I had a typical breakfast-two eggs, toast, fried potatoes and eggs. Again you get a lot of good for your money but I wish the food would've had a bit more flavor. My eggs were cooked to perfection and my toast was delicious. This simple little place surprised me with their food. My wife and I each got a chicken salad, one grilled and one fried. They came with two thick pieces of bacon and one sliced hard boiled egg. The epitome of an old time breakfast place. With the fixed barstools at the counter to the menu boards above the kitchen counter, this is the real deal. I ordered a short stack and coffee. Coffee was hot and good. Refilled by 3 different servers walking around with coffee. Food was out in less than 5 minutes. Spectacular service by very experienced servers. Small place that gets busy. Very good. Hubby had the special, stew beef (not beef stew, just the meat with no gravy). Very yummy along with his coleslaw and corn nuggets. The coleslaw was delicious, fine cut cabbage. They cut their own fries fresh and fry them to perfection. As tempting as breakfast sounded, I couldn't turn down the lure of fresh french fries. And this place did not disappoint. There were not a lot of offerings for vegetarians, which is to be expected, but they had a grilled cheese that worked for me - but again, this visit was really about the fries. My dining companion opted for a burger which she gleefully reported to be well cooked and delicious. Again, those fries came along and we were in fried food heaven. Coincidentally, we landed there on Halloween and the staff were dressed up for the occasion in a variety of costumes. The restaurant was decked out in Halloween decorations and made for a fun, festive environment. This was amplified when staff gathered round and wished a coworker a happy birthday - cake and all. The staff was on point. Food came out quickly and accurately. Waitresses routinely stopped by to refill drinks and see if we needed anything else. The whole team worked to make sure that everyone was happy and well-fed. Note: They charge a fee for using a debit or credit card. The max they can charge for credit card use (and NOT debit cards) is 4%, though management here instituted a flat fee for all cards which may be problematic. read more

Best homemade french fries ever!! I will totally stop in here any time we are passing through. Also, the gentleman behind us got a piece of chocolate cream pie that looked to die for. This is a tiny little restaurant with about 10 or so booths and seating at the counter. They had daily specials with their phone ringing constantly and people coming in and out so it sounded like the specials were the hot ticket. The place was HOPPING! This restaurant is as good as its reviews. As noted, the inside is a little small with about 10 booths and counter space for dining. Upon request, our waitress made several recommendations. We got the bacon cheeseburger, chili dog, and hand-cut french fries. Our food arrived quickly, and was very fresh and hot. All three items were delicious and the portions were big. It was a VERY good value, combined with a friendly atmosphere, and great service. We'll come back soon to try some of their traditional southern dinners. I'm sure they will be great. read more
