On a cold, rainy afternoon working in the area, I stopped by the Wagon Wheel for some good country cooking. The staff provided service with a smile. The coffee was hot and fresh. Tucked away from the main road it was almost easy to miss. We kept it simple with their Working Man's lunch (cheeseburger, fries and slaw) and a grilled chicken and bacon sandwich. The burgers were hand made patties and char grilled just right. The chicken patty was grilled too. All was delicious and the service was spot on. The decor is rustic but fairly clean. Last visit the chicken livers were served raw and when they were returned twice then told to forget the order ...we were told by the server the charge could not be taken off the ticket because it would make the owner "mad"...? This place isn't really on yelp but maybe more reviews can help with that. Hubby found this place while we were just passing thru town. Definitely a "hole in the wall" kind of establishment. When we went it was a seat yourself style. There's a ton of tables and they were pretty busy. I ordered the French toast with sausage and hubby ordered biscuits and gravy with sausage and home fries. Both our meals were pretty good. Service was kind of slow but I think it was only because they were understaffed big time. I would probably give it another go for breakfast. The server was nice although my cup was empty about 30% of the visit. At the end he did put my refill in a to go cup on my way out. My grilled cheese was American cheese which would have been great if it had been melted. The bread was lightly toasted and golden. The fried okra was more than likely from the freezer but the fried squash was freshly fried and well seasoned. It was definitely the highlight of the meal. read more

Not quite a meat and 3 but similar concept and food offerings. This is a hit or miss on your entrees. Some items are very TV dinnerish then some items are more fresh such as their burgers are pretty good and steak tips but their country fried steak is the perfectly round formed frozen patties. They tend to be generous with their portions considering their low prices. read more

This restaurant is the epitome of "hole in the wall restaurants have the best food." We have lived in this area for 3 years and we are sad we just found this place! We would've been eating here regularly. The pancakes were excellent. We had both plain pancakes and blueberry pancakes. The real blueberries were huge and perfectly ripe. The oatmeal was delicious and steaming hot. The eggs and bacon were made perfect to order. The biscuits were clearly homemade, and although they looked like they might be dry - they were wonderful!!! The portions were generous but not ridiculous. Our service was friendly and fast - we couldn't have asked for anything more! We are looking forward to trying the French Toast, a Breakfast skillet and a breakfast sandwich. When we saw those delivered to other tables and they looked delicious. read more

Nothing fancy, just plain and good. I have tried quite a few things on their menu. My favorite is the bacon double cheese burger. Just a good ole fashioned American burger that is always fresh and well cooked and fills that comfort food need. Oh, and they have the thick cut crinkle fries, no shoestrings here. Been goin here now for almost 5 years. Have never had anything I did not like. It may not look the greatest on the inside, but don't let the look fool you. We found this place basically by accident, but we're so glad we did. The staff is vet friendly, the atmosphere is welcoming, and the food is amazing. I ordered the veggie omelette which was great, but I couldn't stop eating my son's blueberry pancakes. They were light, fluffy and and delicious. I highly recommend them. The hash browns and biscuits are also delicious. If you're nearby, make sure you have a meal at the Wagon Wheel. You won't regret it! read more

We were starving and there were few restaurants open due to the pandemic. The place was clean and the waitress friendly. However, it turned into a poor choice. The epitome of a local, small mountain restaurant. You can just tell that everyone knows everyone and it is a favorite place amongst them. The prices are pretty cheap an you get a decent meal. The waitress is always very kind and tries to make sure everything is fresh and hot! I had the Veggie Melt and some jalapeño poppers, which were great. My husband had both the chicken sandwich and the sirloin steak sandwich (two separate occasions) and he liked then both. Food is decent and the prices mostly reasonable. This is a good, typical breakfast/lunch place. I haven't been for dinner. They would get another star or two but, unfortunately, they mix politics and religion with the business and not everyone feels welcome here. The staff seem friendly and I'm not especially sensitive but the conversations I've overheard between patrons and patrons and the owner/staff sometimes make it impossible to enjoy a meal there. I just paid over twenty dollars for the worst food and service I have ever had. If I had to describe this place in just one word it would be CHEAP. Everything about the place is CHEAP. You walk in and no one even greets you. They all stare at you but don't say a thing. Then you go to sit down at a table and surprise no one comes to greet you then either. You look around and all of the tables are dirty with crumbs and there is food all over the floor. They seriously walk past your table or look at you and continue on to the front counter. You wait over 15 minutes just to have a person acknowledge you. They run out of the thing they are specializing for lunch that day at 1pm! When you get your food, everything is fake and processed. I got grilled chicken which was a frozen chicken patty that wasn't even seasoned with mashed potatoes which were from a box and runny and turnip greens from a can. When the lady brought our food, the just plopped it on the table along with our ticket, didn't say anything and walked away. The condiments they use are left out all day and just passed from table to table (even salad dressings). How they passed inspection I will never know. We were not checked on the entire time we ate, but we did get to hear a lovely conversation in which two employees had complaining and cursing about how something wasn't done. Then, when we went to pay we stood at the counter for another 15 minutes as all of the workers ignored us and walked right past the counter. None of them even acknowledged any of the customers standing in line (there were at least 3 tables waiting to pay) They are TERRIBLE. If you are considering eating here, do yourself a favor and go to the hardees instead. Its cheaper, tastes better and you get better service read more
