I came in a hurry to pick out some paint samples as this was the closest route near me even though I occasionally buy from Dunn Edwards. Honestly, I am so glad that I came to this Sherwin. A young lady with beautiful long black hair that goes by Jocelyn took her time on helping me pick the best color for my bedroom walls. I went in looking for a simple gray and white color & didn't realize all of them had different undertones. I felt overwhelmed at first but she made it 10x more easier for me. Although it was a little busy, she still managed to offer me coffee & certainly took her time in providing me with great quality paint. When I entered this store, I felt a little nervous to think that it would be full of men employees only. Just to find out, I was wrong! At Dunn Edwards, I felt like a bother when it came to asking questions regarding color samples to the men working there. NEVER AGAIN. It felt relieving to see two beautiful ladies working on the floor & having patience. Overall, my interior home decor looks amazing with the color that was chosen for my walls. Minimalist & modern look? FANTASTIC! If I need more paint, I will definitely be coming to this location. read more

I came here about 6 months ago and again this week and had the same uncomfortable experience. The service is just not welcoming, it's weirdly tense. No smiles , no welcome. It's like the 2 ladies that were working just were so lax and just getting through the day. They went to make paint samples and didn't say anything something like " this will take about 15 mins so please look around, have a cup of coffee, we will be right back with you". They just disappear, I'm standing there, no one says anything. They came back 10-15 mins later with the samples. The reason to come here vs Home Depot is for personalized service. read more

I simply cannot say enough about the Sherwin Williams team in Hermosa Beach. I have, or should I now say had, always been a Dunn Edwards customer. However, recently I decided to give Sherwin Williams a shot. Boy was I glad that I did too!! Not only do they offer quality paints and accessories, but their staff at the Hermosa store are second too none! I have been in this store three times and usually on a Saturday. Tori and Rafael have been working during these days. Honestly, they were so incredibly helpful by taking the time to help me match colors with a particular granite that I was having installed. Their patience, professionalism, and flare for design could never be found at Dunn Edwards or Home Depot. They really seem like they enjoy their jobs and it clearly showed. Also, their prices were much better than the competitors, not too mention that they always have lots of great sales going on. I ended up saving 30% on my order. That was nearly $600 as I was painting my entire interior of my home!!! That was huge.. In conclusion, Kudos to the management team at the HB Sherwin Williams for a job well done!! I went to this paint store because I wanted customer service with some questions I had about a paint project I was working on. I had purchased the initial concrete paint at Home Depot and wanted something darker and wasn't sure what kind of paint could be put on top of the existing concrete paint and how to get a much darker color. I literally went there to BUY THE PAINT. I was the only customer when I walked in and there was 2 younger staff members who gave the bare minimum. First I started with a young woman who answered a couple questions with "it's up to you" and then she disappeared in the back while I tried to figure out which paint. Then a younger man was there and didn't seem to really know enough to make a recommendation. I was so frustrated, I said I would just think about it and without a thought, he said OK and went back to sit behind the counter (did I mention I was the ONLY person in the shop?). My suggestion is to ensure they always have one expert on staff to help customers especially on weekends and maybe instill to your employees that their role is to drive sales so try harder to help out. I went to a different local paint shop and had great service and spent even more money. I won't be coming back to this place again. read more

I have had a wonderful 5 star experience so far with Keith at this store. He is professional, patient, and knowledgeable. However, I made the mistake of going in to the store to make a slight color change on a color match for my home in Manhattan Beach, and the manager was very rude and I left very upset. Some nice painter (VEGA paint Co) tried to help me but she made me feel very unwelcome and I left. Today I called the store to see if Keith was in and she told me, in a very brusk tone, that I should not come in today because they were very busy and I should come in on the weekend if I want help with colors from Keith! I am thinking seriously about taking my business elsewhere, despite Keith's kindness. I have been in customer service for 28 years and have never felt so upset by a manager's LACK of customer service. If you go there, and need help, make sure you go when Keith is working, or you, too, will leave angry. I hope this helps potential home owners trying to figure out paint colors for their homes. Only Keith will give you personal time at this store. He should be the Manager!! read more

Love their products, not their service. Visited this location on June 18th waited while 2 phone calls were taken before me... Only to find out that the Sherwin Williams CAB-acrylic lacquer isn't in stock, and was told by 2 millennials to go to their Lawndale store. Not even a suggestion to bring it in from another store for me or to order it and ship it to my home. No wonder brick and mortar stores are disappearing.... it's hard to find any service anymore from a younger population that has no clue what service is. First off, there is parking behind the building. My first visit I wasn't sure if I would need to find street parking. I had a very pleasant experience purchasing paint for an office remodel. Normally I would go to Home Depot to buy paint but this store is closer to home so I figured I would try it out. I thought that the paint would be more expensive compared to HD, but it turned out to be pretty comparable. The clerk helped me choose my paint and finish. Then he prepped the paint quickly and I was on my way. They had a stool for me to sit on while I waited and Harry Potter was playing on a TV nearby. I couldn't ask more from a paint store. I'll definitely be coming back. It was a way calmer experience than your standard Home Depot. read more

This review is for the Hermosa Beach store. One star for this particular location and the other star for most of the product sold there. I am a DIY homeowner with multiple properties. Have always used and liked Sherwin Williams paint. I put up new drywall and did the standard plaster work in my garage. Didn't get carried away but still like to see a nice job after a lot of work. There was the usual SW sale going on and wanted to get some primer. The store I usually go to said sale did not cover primer. This has happened to me before so I called Hermosa and asked the same. They said we will discount primer. I went. Salesman greeted me and asked what I was doing. After explaining the job he suggested SW Drywall Primer. I normally use the Multi-Purpose primer. He said to use the Drywall. Cheaper, designed exactly for what I was doing and I will LOVE it!. OK, one is Multi purpose and the other has ONE purpose. I bought it and got to work. First coat didn't cover great. I applied another. It didn't quite cover the expected pencil marks on the drywall. Not good but I was into it. I had purchased the SW A-100 exterior paint. They said it was a bit more durable for a garage since it was exterior. Applied the topcoats two coats. Covered pretty well for a cheaper paint. By the way, it STINKS!! You are warned especially if you use it inside. Took a long time do dry but the next morning I could see EVERY bit of plaster work. Screw holes and seams. It sucked into the plaster and looked HORRIBLE! I called SW customer service to see what might have gone wrong. The Rep said it was the primer and offered the opinion that it is the worst product in the line!! She said to only use the Multi-Purpose for drywall work. Uhhhh. Doesn't the other state one purpose? It got a bit odd. She kept saying "don't call the store manager"!! We will get back to you and make it right. Never called me back. I called a second time and was told exactly the same thing by a different Rep. Never got a call back. Couple days later got a call from Hermosa store manager Jasmine. Told her the whole story. Got some bad advice from her store and was unhappy. She was nice and sympathetic. Promised to look into it and get right back to me. Never happened. My experience. You have been warned. I doubt I would patronize or recommend the Hermosa Beach Sherwin Williams paint store read more
