Less than impressed with this SW store. We've been buying SW paint for several years and always had a good experience with one of their other stores. However, went to the Beach/Warner location a couple times recently and really don't want to go back. The employees were polite enough, answered the phone and handled my order. However, they offered very little help when trying to figure out which of the different levels of base paint I wanted to buy. The employee told me which one I should get, but I wanted to know about the different options so I could make an educated decision since we were going to paint our entire interior using the same base paint. My paint color was discontinued so they pulled it up from the old list and agreed to make it for me, which I appreciated. However, it was REALLY REALLY off! WAY off! I understood that I still needed to pay the $60 for the gallon that I was going to discard and didn't raise any issue with that, but not a peep from the employees asking about the color problem. When I tried to get a smaller size of another paint (so I didn't end up with another unused $60 gallon), I was told about 3 times that there's a paint shortage so they don't do sample sizes anymore. Okay....so I need to buy a gallon again to try a color? No - they could do a quart. Whatever-that's fine. When I asked for a certain sheen, was told b/c of paint shortage I couldn't pick my sheen and that it would depend on what they had in stock. Okay...so what sheen do you have in stock? Well, it depends on the paint you pick. Seriously!?! I told you the paint color and sheen I wanted. Can you do it or not? In the end they could do it and quoted me a price. When I showed up I was billed more. Not a big deal - I noticed, mentioned it and they refunded the difference. Just annoying and for whatever reason, this store feels difficult. We are now going to Home Depot where it's incredibly easy (and cheaper) to get paint and straight forward answers and finding a color they offer. read more

Honestly I have never been screwed over by a vendor like this low class SW. they charged me for material they did not have in stock and promised me it will arrive no later than lunch time. I gave them more than enough time to gather it all up since I came on the following morning and they still didn't have it ready. They broke company policy and now they won't give me my money back. It's been a couple months since my last review and I decided to go back to the Sherwin-Williams and try it again. After placing an order for four gallons of paint I was told I should wait till Friday. I guess I should appreciate that since if I wait till Friday I get 40% off but what about the project I'm working on today. So at $60 per gallon of paint a 40% discount would be substantial but it doesn't do anything for me today. As an update to my previous post I'll add another photo of the homeless living in the parking lot. Still apparently Sherwin-Williams thinks this is a great idea. Honestly, I'd give this place a zero if I could. The only reason they get a star is because I liked the paint we picked out for our house. When we walked in, the guy at the counter was deep in conversation, in another language, with an older gentleman. So I stood behind him and waited to ask my question. He ignored me. So I walked over to the paint samples, browsed around, pulled the colors I wanted, and again went and stood at the line. Nothing. He kept making eye contact with me, but never once stopped to ask if I needed something. At the time, I was 8 months pregnant, so standing for long periods of time wasn't really something I was wanting to do. So finally, I said "Excuse me, I'm so sorry, but is there anyone else that can help me?" Then men stopped talking, the employee looked me up and down, said something in a snotty tone to the older gentleman and told me no. Ok. Well then. "Well then can you maybe help me out?" Another look and "In a second." Done. I left. 30 minutes later I returned with my boyfriend and a friend, employee is still talking to the older dude. The boys get the supplies they needed, and we head to the cash register. He FINALLY acknowledges us, and my friend tells him that we need to purchase paint, what the wall measurements are, and asks how much paint he thinks we should buy. No joke, the guy looks at him and says "You came to buy paint and you don't know what to buy?" Um...I lost it. Don't piss off the pregnant lady. I looked him dead in the eye and said "No. he was asking your professional opinion on how much we should purchase to get the job done. He wasn't asking you to be an a$$ about it. So why don't you go ahead and give your "professional opinion" so we can be done here and you can go back to being completely unprofessional with the next sorry person that has to walk through those doors. I'm over you and your attitude, get it together." After that he shut up, got us what we needed and I vowed never to go back there ever again. read more

This positive review is only for Patrick and Ken. I've been in this store more than 4 times. On many visits, Patrick and Ken always helped me out and gave the best customer service with willingness to go above and beyond. On one occasion I had a mix up with the quantity of paints b/c Patrick had suggested a certain amount I needed based on my floor plans. I ended up reducing the amount and without any hesitation, he was able to help me get exactly what I needed. *** Only Complaint I have about the other employees is on two different occasions (Weekends) I've come into this store to purchase more paint and a sales associate w/ red hair (don't know her name) and her coworker (Asian guy) sat in the dark with his foot kicked up at the desk in their office chatting it up. They didn't seem to have any customer service compared to the usual Pat/Ken. In fact, it was the opposite. The Weekend associates seem to be unhappy, grumpy and lazy. Sorry to say but its happened more than once and I was greeted w/ an attitude! If you're ever planning to buy paint at this location, don't go in unless Patrick or Kenneth are in the store to help you. read more

Went into the store overwhelmed with what color to choose for my exterior stucco wall. Luckily, ken the assistant was there to help me. Picked out a beautiful color named kilim beige and looks absolutely fantastic on my stucco wall. Ken was very professional and answered all my paint questions. Showed me the right roller cover and proper preparations to make the job o as smooth as possible. I will definitely go to sherwin the next time I have a paint project. read more

Came down here because my local store was out of sample paint cans. First guy was friendly but then the staff proceeded to help every MAN who came in and i had to stand around waiting 45 min to get the samples i needed. So come here if you're a dude. Some of the best employees and customer relationships I have ever seen. This Sherwin-Williams, despite its competitors around them, exceed in their expectations regarding customers, team building, training skills. Their manager, Patrick, along with his employees really show that the strength of a company really does come from its employees, in which the employees take time to get to know the person and create a customer relationship with not only the contractors, but also the DIY customers as well. Every person who works here is an individual who strives to be the best they can be, and works hard for it everyday. Even though the floors were being redone, these employees stepped it up and were able to use teamwork and discipline to get the job done. The workers here are very helpful and mindful, and they exceed the level of expertise in the painting industry, where they are one of the highest profitable stores in California. read more
