I had a cutest experience here yesterday. One of my employees and I came in, and without exaggeration, we needed to buy eight screws. I don't know how to act around candy, so I ended up buying some M&Ms and was snacking on them as I walked around this charming little Ace Hardware. If you ever gone into a general store in a small town, you'll know exactly how this feels. When I was paying for my tiny order, under five dollars for everything, I asked if they sold soda. They did not, but the wonderful tiny little Indian lady behind the counter, I'm assuming one of the owners, asked her, I'm assuming again, husband if they had any soda and he offered me a Fanta From their personal fridge. What??? How sweet was that. Customer service like that just doesn't exist anymore and it never ever exists in a five dollar transaction. Giving me a one dollar soda would've completely blown their whole margin for the transaction, but they're just sweet people. The exchange had me smiling for hours. It's the next morning as I write this and I'm smiling right now thinking about how sweet this couple was. I own construction company here in Huntington Beach and I will definitely be back. I'm going to instruct my staff to get supplies here as well. If you like supporting local businesses and visiting with friendly hard-working people, this is the spot for you. read more

I felt so at home here, he helped me pick out the proper tool that I needed for one of my socket bits (it was so hard to describe it so i brought the physical item with me) HE WAS SO HELPFUL and didn't make me feel weird for not knowing much which I've felt in other shops in the past. Convenient. It definitely looks smaller than it really is. Once inside, you realize it's a lot bigger. There's a department for fixing screens (doors and windows) which is nice. Turnaround time on those not too bad. We asked about dryer vent ducts because I didn't want to buy from Amazon when I can support local, and the man suggested X to buy. We found out it was too short and tried to go back to exchange for longer size because his suggestion was too short. What he suggested was the max size and they didn't have anything else longer so we had to make due with what they had, but it would've been better if I had gotten that off Amazon to be able to exchange for correct size. The store is good for simpler things that can be easily exchanged or returned. Parking is easy, so there's that. All in all, okay. Good to have brick and mortar business around. read more

This is an older Ace but not with the employees that are usually bustling to help. Most Ace hardware store have ten or more employees running around eager to help. Here there is few on the floor. Maybe an occasional guy which I think is the owner and one other guy that doesn't communicate well. Their stock is not really up to date. But in an absolute pinch they may have something you need. I needed a couple of replacement screws for my walker. First, I went to Home Depot, the gigantic store that has everything, 'cause it's a lot closer. I asked an employee for help, but he said he was on break. He came back a few minutes later, apparently break time was over. I showed him the kind of screws I needed, he held it up against some they had, but none matched. So he told me I should go to Ace Hardware, 'cause THEY have everything. I went to Ace, and someone helped me as soon as I walked in. I showed him the screw, he said "Wait here" and walked away. In a very few minutes, he came back with the screws I needed. I was out of there in less than 10 minutes. I recommend them highly. read more

Such a gem local business! I had a broken key, was locked out of my house, and I showed up to Ace 10 minutes before closing. I had just spent an hour and a half at Home Depot getting the run around about how they can fix my key (they couldn't!). The owner happily made me a new key within 10 minutes and I was on my way. I needed a small tool to tighten some parts on my new bike. Went to this shop bc I wanted to support a small business. The moment I walked in, the male owner tripped over a sign when he saw me and his wife started chewing me out and then started muttering under her breath, something about people tripping and falling and suing them on account of me. The owners are rude and have ZERO customer service skills! Good luck returning anything at this POS business if something is wrong with the product you purchased. They don't speak english very well and do NOT care about their local customers! I left immediately, after an unacceptable exchange, with the little man-owner. I went STRAIGHT to a great, orange -colored business, where the customer service reps gladly helped me with the product exchange. I even admitted that I purchased the product at the USELESS ACE HARDWARE on Springdale & Edinger. I will NEVER give ACE my business again. I am remodeling my ENTIRE house in the Harbour. My general contractor was sending his guys to get supplies from this ACE. I have stopped that and I am getting a new GC. I refuse to give businesses with "rude owners" my hard-earned money! Had me go home and take a picture of the fittings underneath my sink to make sure I got the right replacements. Then he recommended a plumber who did great work and saved me hundreds of dollars! The staff is very friendly, knowledgeable and you will have your part and be on your way home in minutes. They always greet you when you walk in. Let them help you, they know exactly what you need and where to find it. If you're looking for nuts bolts, screws, springs, grommets, washers etc... they have it. They sell each piece individually, so you don't have to waste your money buying a whole bag/box when you only need one. On my last visit I was looking for parts to repair my sliding glass door roller. To my surprise, they actually had the exact roller that fits my door, so I didn't have mess around with fixing the old one. This saved me lots of time and it was less than half the price I found online. None of the big box home improvement stores carry the part.
