Best paint quality in my opinion. Super helpful they'll take the product back-and-forth to your car if you need help.

I usually buy all of my painting supplies at my local Home Depot, but this time I wanted to do something different, or try someone different. Like the same thing I did with purchasing some tools. Dunn Edwards have some awesome paint supplies. They are a bit cheaper too. I like what I saw, because I want to paint some rooms in my home, and I need some good paint. So I did that and I will paint my rooms in Febuary. Nice service and good people. WIll be another go to spot for me. read more

I needed to do some touch-up painting on a couple spots on our interior walls but found the little bit of paint I had leftover in a can in the garage all dried up. I guess I hadn't put the lid on tight enough the last time I used it a couple years ago. It was a can I had purchased at a Dunn-Edwards location some time ago. I had the paint name and identification number which I had cleverly written on the lid and made it easy to purchase a new gallon when I was running errands in the Fountain Valley area. The woman at the front desk was cheerful and acknowledged that it could be quickly made since I had the appropriate information on the paint type. Payment was made and 10 minutes later a guy from the rear room emerged with my gallon of paint. Quick and easy! They even properly disposed my old can of dried up paint which is considered hazardous waste. Big thumbs up for this location. read more

I was absolutely shocked at the cost of a gallon of paint. I try to do a lot of jobs around the house myself and I also use contractors. Many of the guys I hire get discounts from vendors but not all. My guys doing my baseboards wanted me to pick up the supplies so I was blown away that paint here was $80 a gallon, discounted to $52. This store is not to blame for the overall cost of this precious liquid and their service was extremely polite and professional. The store layout is clean and they are certainly well stocked. First time That I have Bad experience with This company location! I usually visit all of them in Orange County CA and they always greet you with a smile! But not this time unfortunately. They make eye contact and say nothing! The Manager was standing looking at me and not even hello! Another person was in front of me asking for a color match and the manager told him that it was going to be ready in 15 mins. When I ordered my color match, they told it takes about 1 hour. The place was empty, nobody around and it was 12:05 pm Not like usually is busy in the mornings. Not coming back to this store. She is fantastic in every way and has been so helpful, responsive and knowledgeable. She helped us to narrow down our choices and continually helped to guide us through the process of finding exactly what we wanted. Working with her has been so much fun. Tim Tran is the man! I came in several times to discuss the best way to epoxy coat my driveway. I saw Tim for the initial consultation and he was was helpful in explaining the options I had. I grabbed his card and gave him a call a couple days before execution of my project and he assured me he would be ready with the epoxy and color i wanted when i arrived. I showed up and grabbed the epoxy waiting for me. A couple hours later, I needed more and gave him a call 10 minutes before my arrival and he was already in the process of prepping so I could just grab and go. Just spoke to the very rude unhelpful color advisor who probably hates his job. Wouldn't even help me find a color to match the color I wanted. He said he didn't want to be responsible for picking a color I didn't like. Wouldn't I say I don't like it? What the heck. I needed help with a "professional" opinion but he didn't help. I asked him what paint I should get that is easy to clean and he just told me sheen to a high gloss finish. Dunn Edwards has many types of paints not just finishes! Unhelpful. Deaf to the Customers! Or, "Slow Custom Paint" Syndrome! We visited D-E on 9-23-2019 and experienced Slow Custom Paint! But everyone else was great including the knowledgeable cashier, and the pleasant woman managing the paint samples. She quickly found colors suitable for our project. At issue was the poor customer service by the "paint guy" in the back. Our "10 minute" wait became a 30 minute wait for some unknown reason. The guy in the back seemed to be inefficiently preparing other customers' custom paint, labeling little containers, pacing repetitively with little sticks, stickers and paper bags. He was oblivious to waiting customers who had already paid. He was deaf to the customers beckoning calls. "Please help us kind sir!! Where be our paint??" Finally the cashier found the completed paint. There are D-Es all over this area - We're certainly not coming back here! read more

Came into the Fountain Valley store to buy paint for my patio cover. Since my homeowner's association (HOA) saves the paint colors on the Dunn-Edwards Paints website, it was easy to purchase. The man who helped me must've been the store manager as he was professionally dressed. I ordered a gallon of paint and was told it would be 10 minutes. I left and got coffee and when I returned, the store manager apologized and told me that it would be a few more minutes because the paint mixer made a quart of paint rather than a gallon and that they were correcting the issue now which delayed my pickup. It was no problem for me and I came out with a gallon plus a quart of paint. Very professional staff, I was happy and I would recommend this location for all your painting needs. P.S. I was able to drop off old paint at this store and it was so nice to get the unsightly paint cans out of my garage. read more

I just started painting my house and it's covering great. Usually paint takes a couple of coats but this seems to be doing it in one, and I'm not trying to skimp or accept " That's Good Enough ". The final product looks perfect. The gentleman who helped me knowledgeable and friendly. Now to the reason for a 4 star and not 5 star. I bought five gallons right off to estimate the amount of coverage it will actually cover. I haven't shopped at a legit paint stores in seven or eight years. Drum roll...5 gallons exterior house paint $ 405.63 out the door. The only discount it seemed would be for a painting contractor on file. Unfortunately, I still need at least 10 more gallons, But it is covering in one coat, so, if you double that for the "do it yourself" paint section of wear house stores and not to mention my personal man hours I may actually be doing good. The sticker shock is just hard to take but so was six dollars for a gallon of gas. read more

I took a bucket of paint from Dunn-Edwards to the store on Brookhurst. Plus I took copies Or the receipt when we purchased the paint and a sample color with the name of the color. They sold me the paint took it home and it was not even close to the original color! I went there THREE times and they never got the color right! The service is awful and the person who attempted to match the paint does not know what he is doing! I have taken a Minuscule sample of paint to Home Depot and they have matched it perfectly! I stopped by one of the few stores open ok Sundays. We just hired someone to paint our home and they said the use Dunn Edwards paints. I needed a few more samples to compliment a color we like. I am not good at selecting colors. We walked into the Fountain Valley store and someone named Debbie helped me. Her title on her card reads "professional cot advisor". Let me tell the title wasn't lying. This wonderful lady knows her stuff. She gave me tips and ideas (something they didn't do at the other store that I purchase samples) If I lived closer I would definitely visit this store Debbie's Servixe was above what I expected. They have my favorite paint color and the quality is superior to other paint stores. My favorite is the velvet finish which is equal to satin finish. Walls look nice and wipes up nicely after the kids touch with their grubby paws. read more

He took the paint flake, said they'd do a color match and asked me if I wanted to wait or come back. I figured it wouldn't be worthwhile sticking around, so I asked them to call me. I had to call twice to place an order, and the second time I was on the phone for 20 minutes with a very confused lady, who wasn't at an ordering station so she took the info and said she'd place the order. Of course, 5 minutes later who calls me back with issues? After she finally passed me over to the manager, I finally got the order in. I told them two names to put it under, our company name and the name of the man who would come pick it up. When he showed to pick it up, he was told they didn't have it and he left empty handed. So I had to call back, and they found it labeled "Courtesy Discount" - no other names on it! The guy I talked to by phone wasn't the one who failed at the pickup, so I have no idea what happened before. But all I had to tell him was what the order was and he found it in two minutes - why couldn't someone do that before? I think they have one person who knows what he's doing, and the rest are just there to mess things up. My coworker (who usually orders the paint) actually refuses to use these people anymore, and now I know why. Save yourself the aggravation, go to Vista or use Behr Ultra for the same quality. read more

Went in there today to get a gallon of paint and a color match. They could color match but they couldn't match the sheen so we had to guess on what it was. Well, we guessed wrong and had to eat the cost which was almost $70.00. We were pretty upset because it was all the money we had and we still didn't have the paint we needed. Instead of sympathizing with us, the woman who works there was very condescending. She knew we were upset and when we left said, "Have a nice day!" She was being very disrespectful almost like she was laughing at us. We are senior citizens and have had a terrible month. We lost our son and bought a Mobile home that was filled with mold. We have lost everything so that $70.00 was the last of our money. For her to be so disrespectful and condescending was the climax to a very bad month. You never know what terrible things your customers may be experiencing so a little kindness or sympathy would have been appreciated. read more

This review is really about the paint advisor service. Do it! Terri Dennis was our color consultant or paint advisor. She was absolutely miraculous. I suspect we've all had disagreements with our spouses about colors. Well, Terri not only suggested colors based on the tile/cabinets etc that we brought in, she also acted as a mediator. I'm sure that's not in her job description, but it sure does help! We walked out with samples of paint in colors that neither of us would have originally considered. They are gorgeous! They make the house pop. Do yourself a favor. Make an appointment with Terri if you need help selecting colors. Not only will you be happy with the outcome, but your marriage will survive.
