I called the store to ask if they could match a nickel-sized paint chip for touching up a wall. I…read morewas told yes. I then asked what the smallest container size available was, since I only needed less than a tablespoon for a few touch-ups. I was told the smallest size was a quart. When I asked about the cost, I was told it would be $11. I went into the store yesterday, and they told me the paint chip I brought in wasn't large enough to match. Since my apartment complex purchases their paint from the store, I asked if they could look up the formula and mix a quart based on that information. They were able to do that. However, when they rang up my purchase, the total came to $37 instead of $11. I was surprised and said, "I was told it would be $11," to which the manager responded, "Oh, did you want a sample?" "When I called, I asked what the smallest amount would be to get a paint match. I was told a quart" The manager replied, "The samples are the same size, a quart, but the sheen won't match. Did you want a sample?" I replied, "I need the paint to match the existing walls, so if the sample won't match, I need whatever paint will match." I left with a quart of paint for $37, and felt taken advantage of as I paid and walked out of the store. I'm still upset about it. On the plus side, the two men were both friendly and attentive and focused on providing the correct paint that would do the job, and I must say the paint is a perfect match. However, I felt duped. I was told the nail holes would not be deducted from my security deposit, but because of one faulty Command strip, the one that pulled a nickel size chip of the paint with it, I felt it needed to be touched up in that spot. I don't think my deduction would have been more than $25-$50, and now regret that I didn't just leave without the paint. I resent when I am quoted one price and then charged a higher price...in this case 236% higher than the quote. I have already told several people what happened, and my lesson learned is to confirm upon arrival at the store the quoted price for the product.

The service is a one…read more I went about two years ago and was so poorly treated, I don't remember in what way, but I remember every time I drive by that it's not a place I should be going to. A few days ago I needed to get some key copies made so I was nearby and went in. I asked where the key copying was and a guy pointed to the far back corner. I went over there and sat on the chair near the cash register because I was not feeling well, and saw a guy 20 feet away with the sun behind him, he was not wearing a red Ace jacket like others there did, and I asked "do you work here?" His reply was, I've been pretty accurate here, "no I just like cleaning up stuff for fun in my spare time." I was sitting on the chair by the cash register which should be enough for him to say don't sit on the chair by the cash register, I felt that was very rude but perhaps he would follow up with a OK but how can I help you. No. That was all he said and then he continued cleaning up around the key duplication machine for another minute or two before I said that I would like some key copies. He had a short name perhaps three letters? I went and paid at the register, asked a guy if he was the manager and he said yes and I told him what happened. I said someone like this shouldn't be working anywhere, much less at an ace hardware store. If you're interested it did seem that they had lots and lots of supplies and things that one might need, but I think that there could be other better, nicer, friendlier and perhaps cheaper, do your own research, places to go by whatever it is that you might need.

And after multiple years of struggling with various whites by Sherwin Williams, I really learned that Benjamin Moore has some of the purest whites in the game. So when it came time to repair the house, I knew I wanted to use Benjamin Moore. I selected a number of paint colors ahead of my store visit that I was either familiar with or discovered online but Brian was such a help in identifying the swatch cards for me and talking me through how the paints might appear on the wall. For instance, I frequently use Chantilly lace, but he let me know it might come across as quite sterile if used throughout a room so it's better to use on the trim only. Just that level of information was so helpful in assessing and discussing the various colors we were considering! I'm really excited with the paint selections we made and to see how they translate onto the walls. I felt really informed, listened to and advised by Brian. He spoke with me and my husband about the sheens which I thought I knew a bit about, but I ended up feeling quite ignorant after learning more so again he added value. He also discussed with me the various levels of paint quality offered by Benjamin Moore, which was super informative, and I didn't realize there was that number of options available! I think we're going with the scuffex by Ben as it's more durable and less prone to dings and blemishes. All in all, this was a great experience. They do offer more than just Benjamin Moore paint colors as well. I noticed they carried farrow and ball as well as some others.

Came here to get a quart of BM Sea Pearl off white to paint an area we patched. Well 1 quart I…read morereceived was a heck of a lot lighter and not the same color. Go back with my 2 cans I had to reference formula.. doesn't use either formula. Tells me to take a chunk of my wall off so he custom make the same color since he feels that he's selling a different product of BM Sea Pearl now. Get a sample of the plaster wall that I'm trying to match and bring in to this guy who then is arguing with me about the sheen level. I know what I painted my Walls 5 years ago and I know the sheen I used also. After 20 mins of this man arguing that He's right I made decision to go with my gut on Matte finish and trust he's going to exactly make the perfect custom color for my wall with my color chip I brought in from my plaster walls. Well here she is in all her glory, customized Sea Pearl BM Matte paint to perfectly match my Walls. You messed up guy. And you wasted so much of my time and emotions going through the process of trying to adjust the 1st incorrect color you mixed me.

When they came to the door they said they had already closed everything down and sent me to Lowe's.
