We had our house painted three years ago and the painters did not leave behind any paint. I was greeted by the most friendly guy, Doug. He searched and searched in the computer for other paints I had purchased there in the past, but we couldn't quite find this one. He offers a service to come to your home to color match your paint. He has an app and went to pretty much every wall in my home and received several different readings. It was determined that the painters watered down the paint to make it go further. He was determined to get it just right so he took a sample of the wall with the paint in a concealed area. somehow with that and the multiple different colored readings he had, he mixed a sampler can for me. He had it ready for me the next morning and I got a tell you, the color couldn't have been more perfect had it come out of the original Ken. I am so grateful for this added service! The Decor Color & Design is gone and no longer in operations. Now, it's Catalina Paints. What used to be a disgruntled place when it was Decor is now a welcoming place that still sells Benjamin Moore paints. I didn't want to go back to that negative space but I'm so glad I did because it's under new ownership and a new business. I can finally come in and get help for once. I would give the new store 5 stars. The last deserved 0 stars. It's the same building and same location that once was Decor Color & Design. Wish I didn't have the experience I did with Jose. The last time I tried to buy paint. Painted the entire inside of my house. Came in and purchased several samples. The place is always busy so I do understand needing to wait. But to be told I need to come back was unexceptable. Then when I came back I was told sorry we are helping other customers you will need to wait. I left the paint colors I needed mixed which consisted of 4 5 gallon pails of paint. Came back a couple hours later and my paint still hadn't been mixed ? Here I was told 30 min came back 2 hours later and still no paint. Now had Jose been curious about it I may have given 3 stars but The pure sarcasem from Jose sent me to Vista paint better price and no attitude. So much for buying local. read more

This place is everything you could ask for in a paint store. They have a great product line, they really know their stuff, and they provide fantastic customer service with wonderful energy. It's just the sort of place you need when trying to resolve tricky paint and finish issues. I'm grateful to be close to such a great store. Example: I was trying to figure out the stain to use on an exterior fence. The manager cracked open a couple of cans of finish so I could put them on a fence picket I brought in to see what each would look like. That doesn't happen at the Big Orange Store. read more

These guys are awesome!!! Way better service at a paint store than I have ever had. They actually want to help you. Do NOT go here and ask questions with an intention to understand and make decisions about your home. Horrible experience!!! Stay clear of Doug, very difficult to get anything done without his ridiculous actions taking over the store. The "Doug show" is offensive and off-putting to say the least. He accosted my girlfriend asking personal questions & it just escalated from there. Made off-handed rude comments including "you Can't help being white." One a second visit, I asked him not to interrupt my conversation, which let to his threatening to "bitch slap me." Time to shop elsewhere, no reason to have to put up with that read more

They were OK but the color was not an exact match, despite the dime sized paint chip that was brought in. It really shows on the wall. Also, none of the staff were wearing masks in there, despite all of us being in the middle of a pandemic. Another masked customer asked about it, and the staff person just shrugged. YMMV. read more

I went in to get some help refinishing my old, chipped and oxidized outdoor lights. John, the owner, spent 20-30 min showing me how to scrape off the old paint, sand down crumbling portions, and figured out for me how the original paint and antiquing was done. He color matched the paint and found the proper metallic finish. It was essentially a private lesson on refinishing lights!
