There was no steam whatsoever and I really enjoy that as I feel like it softens my skin. Steam or even a hot towel could've helped soften my skin and prep for the extractions. The extraction part was terrible itself, she was scraping really really hard and mentioned several times how her clients would tell her that her extractions were painful. She said if you don't press hard enough nothing will come out. I'm not the expert but scraping and pulling skin doesn't seem helpful it actually seems harmful. It seemed like I paid for not much service. When she did the blue light therapy she just left me in the room for ten minutes or more. She could've massaged my head and arms or something but instead I'm just laying there doing nothing. Even the face mask felt cheap she just used a sheet mask. My skin has been purging with really bad breakouts ever since the facial it's super bumpy everywhere. I've had allergic reactions from facials before but I don't think this is the case right now. I will not come back based on lack of service and how roughly she deals with the skin. For the amount of the facial it should feel more luxurious than it did and maybe she should rethink doing extractions so roughly to the point where it's painful.

However, I was in the mood for…read moretreating myself to some kind of self-care and a special for a Skin Revival Bundle from Miself Beauty Care popped up on my feed on IG. $125 for what would normally be over $400 caught my interest and I said why not give it a shot as it was going to provide more than your basic facial. This is a first time customer special. I submitted the sign up form through their IG post and was contacted through text that day (which I think is an automatic reply) and received an actual reply from a Lina the next day. From that point on, contacting them was super easy. My schedule was kind of hectic at the time, but Lina was patient in helping me to find a date that would work for me, which was about 2 weeks later. Appointment reminders were non-stop from that point out through email and text. You do need to fill out a survey prior to your appointment that asks about what kinds of products and treatments you have been doing. I was never followed up about this, so I guess there wasn't anything that would be an issue. As I mentioned, communication was super easy. If I had any questions that came up before my appointment, I could just text and they were quick in replying. Karen (the owner and the one who provides the treatments) provided parking directions ahead of time, which made it really easy to find the location and where to park. While Miself Beauty Care is located in Eaton Square, there is a specific parking garage that you need to park in as there is another one for the residents that live in the building. The same thing goes for elevators. One is specific for the residents (and locked to the public), so make sure to locate the elevators labeled as Commercial Lobby. Miself Beauty Care is located on the 4th floor in Suite 401. The suite is shared with 3 other businesses. Karen was super sweet from the very first moment I met her. She brought me into the room and gave me a towel that I would wrap around myself after taking off my top. She excused herself so I could change, but came back promptly so we could get started. The Skin Revival Bundle includes a HydroDiamond Facial, Dermaplaning Session, Anti-Aging LED Light Therapy and a Skin Revival Intro. Karen talks you through every step of the experience. She lets you know what she's going to do and why she's going to do that to your skin. I tried to understand whatever I could, but basically this session starts with cleansing your skin. Then comes the dermaplaning. This is where a scalpel is used to gently exfoliate the outer layer of your skin to reveal newer/brighter skin and remove fine facial hair to create a smoother surface. It was such a strange feeling at first, but I quickly got used to it. I enjoyed the cleansing between each treatment and the hot towel placed on my face each time as well. During the Anti-Aging LED Light Therapy, Karen massaged both of my arms. I think I might have knocked out during this part because I was so relaxed. There was a little more that she did at the end to close up the treatment to provide your skin with tons of hydration, but that was pretty much it in a nutshell. She also placed a hydrating lip balm on my lips that gave it a minty feel. I liked it so much I purchased one to take home with me before I left. Karen provided me with a mini bottle of water and 2 free gifts. What a surprise! One of the gifts was the Idyllic Cleanser that she used at the start of the session and a Chocolate Masque with Enzymes. Yay factor! Parking is validated for up to 2 hours, which should be enough for your session with Karen. Make sure to ask if there are any post-treatment rules you need to follow before leaving. I forgot to ask, so I texted her later in the day and she provided me with the information. You may want to ask this ahead of time as I had a work event to attend the next day and would have booked this treatment on a day when I didn't have anything planned the next day as one of the rules are that you are not supposed to wear make up for the next 48 hours. Thank you Karen for an amazing experience both in treatment and customer service! I don't know that my finances will allow me to come back as often as my skin would probably want, but I now know a great esthetician to both recommend to others and come back to when I want to want a tune up for my skin.

Turns out, I've known Emily for years, but didn't know she did waxing and facials and all kinds of pampering thing for your face! I went to visit her at her prior salon at Windward Mall a few times, and was always very happy with the results. I'd since moved out of Kaneohe and barely visited the mall. In the meantime, she moved her studio to a new location, while still in Kaneohe, it was to a building I was very familiar with. I found out last week I would be in Kaneohe so I sent her a quick message to see if she had openings... she said she would be happy to squeeze me in at 9:30. YES! The studio is located across the street from the Kaneohe Fire Station, with the entrance facing the side of the station. There is an open lot with free parking and a few handicap stalls, with more parking available under the other building. I'd never been in the building with the studio. It is a cute hair salon with a loft, Emily's studio is located upstairs in the loft in a room next to the nail salon area. It was a quick 30 minute appointment but Emily did not skimp on the precision and pampering... I LOVE my brows! I hope to return soon to get a facial done!
