I also appreciate that he has walk-in hours available for emergencies so you're not waiting for weeks (or even days) when you have an emergency or need to see the doctor urgently. (I've even had to schedule an urgent pre-op appointment and they worked really hard to make it work with my limited timeline and the doctor's limited availability). His front desk is also really great. If I need something, I don't need to ask for any specific person, they all know how to handle questions, cases, and concerns. Truly, they are great at what they do and they're incredibly efficient. When I ask for a referral or let them know about a concern, I know I don't have to follow-up and I will be hearing from the doctor or the office SOON. I even had a more urgent case that I wanted dealt with as quickly as possible, so I called and got the office's email and sent them the necessary paperwork before my specialist did and I had a referral and follow-up material within 24 hours. When you have lab tests, tests or xrays in general, or anything that requires your attention, someone will call and follow-up and update you on the situation and potential next steps. They may not be the gentlest about it but I prefer a straighforward approach so that I can handle whatever I'm dealing with as quickly and as best as possible. This office is kind, efficient, and very good at what they do. I've been coming here for YEARS, have gotten my family to come here as well, and hope to continue to be coming here for many more years to come. A truly fantastic doctor and office.

She addressed 100% of my questions and was personable enough. She seems knowledgeable and very professional. She is the type of doctor that tests before she pushes a drug which puts her at an advantage to other Doctors in my eyes. I don't like the trial an error method that many physicians use when treating their patients. It's dangerous and careless. Dr. King did thorough testing before she diagnosed and prescribed. Specifically, she discussed respiratory problems and fertility challenges. I felt that she met and perhaps exceeded my expectations of my office visit. I visited her at Irvine Odyssey, so perhaps it is fair to also give feedback on the office as well. It's clean, modern, warm, and most importantly efficient. I don't think I waited more than 5 minutes. I hate that awkward feeling that you get when you're in that uncomfortable hospital gown, the waiting room is cold, and you just keep wondering if you should take your socks off too?... there wasn't too much of that during my visit. It was easy to make any appointment. Although the front desk was busy, which made for a less warming welcome- you can tell that they work like the old school type offices where the doctor interacts with the staff and everyone keeps informed and on the same page. I should've given this review 3 weeks ago after my initial visit... but it wasn't until now that I got the chance to. I just called today because I needed information about allergy testing and Dr. King talked to me on the phone. She sounded rushed- which makes sense because she didn't make me wait while I was in the waiting room, others shouldn't have to either. I would've liked to have finished my sentences- but I appreciate her taking the phone in the first place. I would recommend you seeing her- and if you're the type of person that requires extensive time during an office visit, ask the front desk to schedule you during one of the SLOWEST times of the week. That's what I would do! As for me, I usually prepare a list of questions- do research at home- and I show up prepared to listen to the Dr. and learn.

I don't think I've ever left a review on Yelp for a practice...but this center is worth it…read more After transitioning from Kaiser Permanente a few years ago, I needed to find a new PCP in Irvine. I've been under the care of Dr. Buten. I appreciate his efficiency, but also his time to care about my health and goals. I feel like he strikes a great balance with not spending forever at the doctors office, but also gets the job done. I've primarily only visited with him, so can't speak for the PA staff, but think his care is great. He is also very responsive on the portal, which is much easier than calling--love that feature! All of the staff are courteous and nice when I've had to come in. It's somewhat easy to get an appointment within the week or so. Office is clean and organized. Usually don't have to go too often, but glad I've found a place that is comfortable for me to go to!

When I tried to make an appointment it would have been 3 weeks before he had time available. I told them all I needed was to renew my prescriptions. So they told me Alison the PA could help me with that. At least she was able to see me within 5 days. And it didn't start well with her but it ended well. First of all, the chart that she reviewed before seeing me wasn't mine but she corrected it. Second, with the new Memorial Care system, some of my information was missing so I had to let her know how much MG some of my medication was...annoying. What I like about Alison was she was very thorough. She had requested all my lab test and one blood test that was the latest in testing for cancer. Today, I got my results back from Quest (which took 2 weeks), let's see if they follow up on my results. I guess no news is good news. If no one follows up I will definitely switch providers. In the meantime, I'll go on Quest website and see if I can figure it out.

I was on 60 mg of prednisone when I saw her and steroids is known to cause a ton of unwanted side effects including weight gain. She immediately started associating any sort of pain or health issue I had with my weight (I was and currently am not overweight) when I've told her multiple times that weight gain is normal for steroids - I've been on it multiple times and the weight just sheds off right away when I'm tapering on this medication. She proceeded to tell me I can only eat 1200 calories and some absurdly small amount of sodium a day and gave me a sheet of what I can eat (according to the other reviews it looks like she does this to everyone else). Her office also runs like it's the 1900s so nothing runs off of modern technology. I've seen MANY MANY doctors in my life and this was probably the worst, most unprofessional experience I've ever had with one considering I only needed a specialist referral. I switched doctors immediately and have since lost all of the prednisone weight after tapering off of it as expected. TLDR; If you're not stick thin you're just wasting your time going here because she's just going to associate anything with your weight and provide extremely unhealthy recommendations for your diet. Please look elsewhere for a doctor!

I posted regarding the experience, and was given a generic response about contacting them if I wished to discuss the matter further. Why would I wish to discuss the matter further, since it won't do any good? Just look at the ratings of this hospital. Look at how many dissatisfied people are posting and receiving a generic reply. How about insisting nurses treat their patients with care, compassion and empathy? How about giving mandatory in-service classes regarding these valuable traits? it would go a long way towards building trust and comfort-particularly for terminal patients and their families. If it had been up to me,he would've been removed from the premises immediately after having requested pain medication for him, and being told he was going to be given Tylenol. It was known that he was in agonizing pain. It was known that his cancer had metastasized. He was agitated and in terrible distress, and it was all traded very cavalierly. What is Tylenol going to do for him besides nothing? 45 minutes later, there was still no sign of the Tylenol. As I stated before, this is unacceptable and absolutely disgusting. To top it all off, his nurse was told twice his catheter had become separated, and bodily fluids were leaking all over his bed. While she twice acknowledged she was aware his catheter was leaking, she made no move to fix it. Whatever happened to common decency and treating others with dignity? For context, my mother, sisters, and myself all worked in hospital settings for years. I have never seen such egregious disregard in a hospital setting. Absolutely outrageous and inexcusable.
