The doctors at this site are awesome- they truly care about you and will do any and everything to get to the bottom of your issue. The front office staff are all so friendly and helpful from making the appointment, to checking in/out and with any billing questions you have later on. They always get me in as soon as possible, I never have to wait to be seen. No issue is too small to be seen.

Making the appointment was easy and her office was close to home and work at the time so there was that. Then I went to visit and discovered that I had finally found the right primary care physician for my needs. Dr. Allison listens to what is going on with her patients and she's very straightforward with them about their results and what they need to do to improve their health for a better quality of life.

I have seen in lower-state South…read moreCarolina, and I would recommend anyone and/or their loved one's needing the level of care this facility provides (for us, we required care in a L-TAC facility for a very serious sacral wound along with rehab. Our elderly loved-one was immobile due to a very serious case of neuropathy and a dislocated shoulder, on top of the wound). I should have written this review some time ago, but I have been in the weeds orchestrating the recovery of my elderly loved one, who has had a very long journey of care that has involved various hospitals and healthcare facilities on his road to recovery, as we've had to navigate the very challenging landscape of hospitals, level-of-care, facility accommodations, health care insurance, expenses, logistics, facility admissions, etc. (i.e., all the things that can make finding good health care tailored to your needs and situation a nightmare). Even though the facility is located more than 2 hours away from my loved one's home-base, the facility sent an amazing representative to the hospital, prior to discharge, to answer all the questions we had and to put in-place all the accommodations we needed to ship my loved-one from the hospital, where his gruesome wound was discovered, to Mt. Pleasant, where his care plan required a 24-30 day stay. This meant another family member and I essentially had to uproot, and figure out how we would be able to manage keeping an eye on our loved one while making sure the level and quality of care necessary for our loved one's recovery was in place. We were very attentive to this concept, because we had previously thought we were closely monitoring the care provided, only to later discover my loved-one had developed the stage 4 sacral wound that was now requiring attention. So, our radars were up, as we had a heighten level of awareness of our loved-one's needs because we had observed and learned the motion of his needed care over the previous months and through educating ourselves along the way (i.e., three educated professionals working together to ensure one could recover and return to life as we once knew it, where being astute, inquisitive, and "sitting on top of the matter" before, wasn't sufficient to prevent the situation that culminated in the stage 4 wound.) Net-net, the representative went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable about our decision to go with AMG, where knowing our commuter situation, she even recommended facilities and programs that were set up in the area to assist with the room and board accommodations and even assured us that there would be no issue accommodating staying with the patient/our loved-one, as needed. From initial intake, everyone was the warmest and most truly empathetic I have seen, yet, while traveling this eight-month journey we are in. The staff and the nurses grew to know us and really showed that they cared for our loved one. In my opinion, the sign of a great health-care facility who truly cares about providing quality care, and that hasn't turned your care into a mere financial transaction, is if the facility is willing to answer your questions without getting frustrated and if the facility is doesn't mind being fully transparent about the administration of the care they provide, where there is nothing to hide, and where they let you know it's ok to look beneath the hood of the machine. AMG was transparent about their administration of care- during our stay, they routinely would bring in whomever was needed to answer the questions we desired to be answered. They would allow us to observe every processes, from bedside, we desired to experience; they allowed us to document the wound recovery; they allowed us to make comfort recommendations for our loved one without getting frustrated at the ask; the professional staff, the support staff, and the facilities staff were all knowledgeable and very empathetically accommodating, i.e., the President himself, and the various functional heads (PT, OT, Nursing, Wound Care, etc.) introduced and availed themselves upon arrival, fielded inquiries, and addressed concerns throughout our entire stay ....the list goes on. I will revisit this post to continue my 10-star rating, out of the 5 stars available for rating, AMG, once I am in a more stable. I am a fan of what AMG stands for and I would recommend the facility to anyone going through the tough and scary ordeal of finding long term acute care, where there is so much to worry about. AMG took care of the health care administration, which allowed us to address and endure the other moving parts of life that needed to be attended to at that time. For that, they are deserving of all of the highest accolades in this space and for the area.

I told my primary care physician about all the trouble I was having when going to see these so called sleep specialists and she recommended that she refer me to Charleston Pulmonary. After a couple of days Charleston Pulmonary contacted me about an appointment, which was easy to get a date that was convenient for me. I did visit the office prior to the appointment to sign consent for them to get my medical records before my visit. The staff did all the "leg work" getting my records for me. When the day came for my appointment I arrived and was greeted upon walking in. I had to fill out some more paperwork; which is the worst part of visiting a doctor these days. After filling out my paperwork I was swept to the back to a room where I'd wait for the doctor. After sitting down I figured I'd be waiting a while so I pulled out my phone and started playing a game; but before the game could load the doctor was in there. First time I've had a doctor see me on time. Doctor Gunn was friendly and straightforward. He already had all my information and was well informed about my current treatment and made some recommendations to improve my treatment. Overall a great visit.

That said, my Dentist Dr Scott Kibler of Old Trolley Dental referred me over to innovative Endodontics. I literally was over there as soon as my procedure with my dentist concluded; that's how fast they got me in. At Innovative Endodontics, located behind Food Lion, they will take very good care of you. That said the parking lot is very easy to get in and out of and it's in a very safe section of town. Walking in, it's very clean and sterile. Moreover, the people here are phenomenal! From the front desk, to the assistants and so on they're all extremely kind. Moreover, they had the info from my dentist, along with xrays sent over so the process to get started went extremely quick. When I first got in the chair they went over my issues and I met Dr. Jason Umbach a very charismatic and knowledgeable surgeon. He went over his plan of attack and made sure I was at ease. The only issue I have is I hate, HATE my face being messed with in terms of mouth or anything like it. Therefore, I requested nitrogen, of which they don't offer. But they did numb me to the point I didn't feel anything other than pressure. Sorry, that can't be avoided. He was quick yet he did offer intermissions to give me a break. I mean I believe he was quick then again, I'm not sure how long it should take; however, it seemed ok. The process was a smooth as could be expected. Overall, the experience wasn't painful or unnecessarily extensive yet detailed and their work which included numerous xrays which remedied my situation. The price was as expected and there were no "gotchas." The staff were excellent and I love the surgeon. I believe you can have faith in this practice that they have your health in mind when taking care of you. If you have some serious work that needs to be done, I would call them. I trust your visit will be as rewarding as mine.

We moved a couple of…read morefamily members from vulnerable populations to South Carolina after the death of another member of the family. This patient hasn't had medical care in years, has moderate cognitive and substantial short term memory issues, and didn't know how to navigate support systems. Dr. Morgan has been helping us identify specialists to deal with his laundry list of medical needs. One of the most important aspects of care, especially with vulnerable individuals, is to treat the patient with dignity and respect. Dr. McKoy addressed our patient directly and has crafted a plan to deal with his issues. He has a care team to support our preparation for surgery and to help our family member and us through the process. I feel like we're in really good hands. One final note. Dr. McKoy is a person of faith, and asked if he could pray in advance of surgery and right then. He paused and offered a prayer in the moment. Why is this important? Haven't we all been seen by a medical practitioner who was arrogant and less than supportive at some point? No matter how brilliant they might be, their demeanor is painful. Frankly, I believe it's critical to have skilled providers who are able to engage with their patients on a human level. Dr. McKoy is an excellent example of such a practitioner.

Best orthopedic surgeon! So happy I was given a referral to Dr. McKoy when I couldn't get any…read morelasting relief from physical therapy for my shoulder. He performed surgery, and my pain has been gone for years. In the past year, Dr. McKoy has replaced both of my hip joints. He is personable, caring, and a wonderful surgeon and I would trust him to do any necessary operations. He is also a great doctor for accidents to the skeleton that do not require surgery. He explains what has happened to your body in an easily understandable way. Unlike many medical practices I have found the billing office is also competent and easy to work with. Dr. McKoy's medical assistant, Jason, is easily accessible and takes time to explain and assist you as a patient, too.

Let me start by saying it has been over two years since I've been there, but my experience has…read morestayed with me. They know their stuff, and I never had a bad PA or MA in my entire 1.5 years going here. However, I needed a biopsy of my thyroid and the way in which I was treated by Dr. Henderson has me hesitant to recommend them, regardless of what they know. I went in for the biopsy fine, and left in tears. Since then, I've learned that I am not as sensitive to numbing agents as most people (meaning I require more than the average person). I was numbed up, but when she went to get the biopsy I could still feel the needle, and I told her that. She then got very annoyed with me, to the point that even her assistant in the room with us said maybe they should numb me more. Dr. Henderson responded (nastily) that I just needed to "SIT STILL." I kept telling her I could feel it and she finally huffed and stopped trying. Said I would need to be put to sleep to have one done in the future. I've been to other specialists since then and have not had experiences even CLOSE to that. Save yourself the stress of bad bedside manner. You don't have to let a doctor talk down to you just because they're an "expert." I hope for the sake of other patients things have changed. I know plenty of people have had fine experiences, but that's mine and I wanted to share it.
