We had dinner here the other night. I would give it 3 stars for food, and 5 for the view, so I am averaging to 4. We had the stinky burger, which was very tasty. We also had a cheeseburger with cheese curds. In my naivety I didn't expect them to be deep fried. Our 7 year old daughter had the pizza and ate it all.

This was a first time here. It was really crowded for a Tuesday lunch group which was fine. We were Lucky to get a window seat. I had the Chicken wrap and my other half had chicken tenders. Both were very good. The waitress was very friendly and we will go back again.

Great location, decent service and good food. Not much to choose from on certain days of the week. When in town, call ahead.

The wings are excellent, the bartenders could use an attitude adjustment, pretty much ruined our night there.

The stinky burger wasn't pungent enough for my gross tastes, but that's barely a complaint.

Friday May 22 we took a drive to Spring Green and stumbled upon a restaurant called "Reunion Family…read moreBarbecue" and we agreed it's probably one of the best meals out we have ever enjoyed! While we didn't try the BBQ we had such flavors like no other in the double smash burger and the smoked salmon (baked). The collard greens, grits, (best we have ever had!!) and french fries were all perfectly cooked, food was hot and our server, Rusty, was a pure delight! He was very knowledgeable and he had fantastic recommendations from the salmon to the delightful key lime pie we had for dessert! He was so attentive, but never intrusive. We saw on the sandwich board outside on the sidewalk, that the meats are wood smoked, and so we are already looking forward to trying those next time! We also noted they serve a weekend brunch on Saturday's and Sunday's until 2 pm... so that's also in our minds to check out and spread the word! Dairy free and gluten free items marked on their menu also.... very very highly recommended, they updated their menu about a year ago we were told... it's worth the drive!

There was even a children's section where kids could play around and be supervised by a parent with a drink or something. Great classic kids books in there too -- love the Busy World of Richard Scarry. I would have given this a 5star review because my food was overall 5star, but there were just too many issues in timing and service and such not to make note of. This was an event where all tables were sat at the same time. Tables were getting their first appetizer before we even got our drinks, and our drinks didn't come out together at all. One person in our party had Celiac but they forgot to bring out a gluten free appetizer, so the rest of us finished our appetizer before she even got hers. Probably not what staff was used to with everything at the same time, I get it, it just wasn't a very good start. It was also freezing to start inside and I kept my jacket on through the first course. Then it warmed up. Old building with radiators, also totally get that, but if the seating was staggered and that front door kept opening, it would have been miserable. After our drinks and appetizers, timing worked out on the rest of the meals. Everything was wonderful and the menu was so thoughtfully laid out. The only other snafu was our secondi course of pappardelle with wild mushrooms had no mushrooms in it, like zero. The gluten free dish had a ton of them and looked really good. It wasn't worth bringing up given the timing issues, and even without the mushrooms the pasta was absolutely delicious. Scallops were cooked to perfection, though if the risotto had saffron in it I couldn't tell at all. Still, I didn't leave one single scrap on ANY of my plates. Despite any issues, the staff was so kind throughout and they were all obviously rushing around trying to get everyone everything they needed. Great food, lovely staff, amazing ambiance -- yes, I'll definitely try to come back here if I'm ever out this way.

The space is located along the Wisconsin River and the large windows in the cafe allow for a breathtaking view while enjoying lunch. The menu is quite small which I appreciated but still had a hard time deciding what I wanted to enjoy because they all sounded so yummy. They use fresh local ingredients as much as possible ensuring that they support the local region and aligns beautifully with the concept of Frank Lloyd Wright. It was a rainy day so I opted for comfort with grilled cheese and a soup of the day. The gooey cheese sandwich with aged cheddar and Gouda paired perfectly with my potato bacon soup. My friend opted for the kale chicken salad that included ingredients for a scrumptious fall salad with pepitas, cranberries, butternut squash, goat cheese and sherry shallot dressing. The set up is order at the counter, find a seat and they bring your food to you. It was a really quiet day and our food came out quickly. The staff seemed to be out of sight much of the time so if you needed something it was a little bit of a wait. I had asked for a box but they didn't bring it and I ended up having to ask again.

We decided to start with the artichoke dip which was a generous amount and tasted great. The chips were salty but that's what you get for commercial bagged chips. My Bloody Mary was delicious. Thick and full of flavor, just the way I like them. At least really good for anywhere in WI that I have found so far. I had the thin crust hot honey pizza w added black olives and mushrooms. I can't tell you how much I enjoyed this pizza. It was just so good! Just the right amount of honey sweetness to offset the salty of the cheese and pepperoni! I could have gorged myself and ate the whole thing, but I did restrain myself fortunately. We had a couple slices reheated in the air fryer for a late snack (we NEVER do this!)", and my husband decided he was also a fan. He had a burger and o'rings that he thought the beef was bland and the o'rings were too greasy. Over all, it was a very nice meal and the whole staff that interacted with us were so very friendly. Everyone kept asking how the food was and made sure we didn't need anything else. We drive over 30 minutes just to get other options than the few local places here that don't offer much. We are going back today to have the pizza again.

Wifey had a hamburger with a slice of raw onion. I went with the cheeseburger, pepper jack and a slice of raw onion. Split an order of seasoned fries. Inside, it's all lodge-like knotty cedar on it's high ceiling and walls, and while that may not be novel for this part of the state, it is especially good quality, well-maintained, and nicely designed compared to the interiors of many of the other well-worn taverns in the area. However; that does not carry over to the bar seats that are well worn-out and held together with electric tape. So who cares, no one can see it once their butt is firmly in place. Highly recommended: Prime Rib breakfast every Saturday and Sunday from 8a.m. til 12 p.m. Tender, juicy, lightly browned, served with tasty au jus, eggs your way, and hash browns made "special" with the addition of onion and melted cheese, on request. Noteworthy touches: an adorable, elderly poodle mascot behind the bar, a lazy calico cat with her name embroidered on her own stool, and customers are welcome to bring in their well-behaved pups, as well; I would be remiss not to mention a small but adequate selection of slots in a side room near the screened back door. The requisite beer and alcohol are available but served in plastic "glasses", so do like the natives and drink beer from the bottle. Full, decent quality pub grub menu. Ask the bartender for directions to Trader's tiki bar and food on the adjacent camp grounds on the Wisconsin river. It's called an island and it has the vibe. If the upscale, aggressive bar scene in Chicago is beginning to seem more chore than it's worth, the quasi-dive/restaurants and supper clubs strung like wooden beads on a coir chain along the by-ways of this close-in Driftless Region (Google it) of Wisconsin are well worth the scenic, pastoral drive and time--especially if you're not looking to hook up, fall in love, get married, and have kids. It's simply a great way to unwind, relax, and just be yourself by yourself, with your best buds, or SO--and return home with change for your ten-spot jingling in your pocket.
