My my the apple has fallen far from the tree... I took my car in for a minor break job and faulty AC unit. Although they fixed both, 2 other issues popped up that was clearly things they didn't put back correctly. When I brought it up to them, the dude was standoffish and wouldn't even entertain the idea it could've been his fault. We've been on a long hunt to find a local mechanic to service our Toyotas and happy to have finally found this place! We buy our own synthetic oil for oil changes and only some mechanics are willing to accept our own purchased oil with a reasonable charge for the oil change labor. Pep Boys wanted to charge us over double for the same service! While they performed the oil change, they found a few other issues with our over 20 year old car and provided us with (what we perceive as) fair quotes for the job. Calling to make an appointment seems pretty straightforward and I like that they text with updates. The actual shop is a bit hard to find since it is in a squishy lot with a bunch of other auto repair stores. I really love the overall location because it is smack dab in Old Town Torrance and it is lovely to be able to drop off the car and go get some grub in the area! read more

Went in to check out a potential oil leak. The mechanic and Natalie were great and made the process easy. The mechanic checked out my car two separate times and answered every question that I had. They didn't charge anything to check my car out. I offered to pay something and they declined. Any time I've gotten a free diagnostic, it has felt like there was no effort to really figure out the problem. I didn't have that experience at Takeda at all. I felt like if there was a problem they would've found it (because they answered all of my questions and explained why they don't think there's a leak). Positive experience. The search for a good, honest mechanic is finally over. Takeda Enterprises is great and honest! They gave me an estimate, which is way less than the dealer. Natalie is very nice and knowledgeable. She answered all of my questions. I made an appointment and after I dropped off my car, it was ready in a couple of hours. She said my brakes are still good and the transmission fluid exchange didn't require as much oil so I ended paying less than the original estimate. And now you have a customer for life. This review is overdue. About a month ago, a piece of the plastic cover on the undercarriage of my car broke and needed it removed. I reached out to a few autoshops on Yelp for a quote and some said they couldn't perform the job or gave me an estimate of $75 and above. Takeda responded to me saying they can do the job no problem free of charge. I went to their shop expecting some sort of bait and switch, but I was gravely mistaken. They stayed true to their word. They took care of me and better yet, instead of removing the plastic piece that broke, they repaired it. After this experience, I will definitely be a future customer for Takeda Enterprises. I would recommend calling or messaging them to schedule before going there because the lot is small and shared by several businesses so it can get crowded. I have been going to my Ford dealership for years as a loyal customer ( and because my car being a muscle car it was recommended by the advisor that I always take it to the dealership for proper maintenance); and in between increased questionable pricing, two to three hour long wait times for simple services such as an oil change, and feeling ripped off for unasked for repairs that I never needed prior due to the low mileage and gentle handling of my car, I finally had enough and decided to find a local auto mechanic with a good reputation as my new go to. Natalie and Angie were very communicative and quick to answer any of my questions in regards to the check engine light that showed on my dash and the diagnostic codes that have been plaguing my vehicle for months now; after getting a ridiculous quote at my dealership I needed to wait a while and do research then finally stopped into Takeda Enterprises hoping for a better outcome/quote/service. I was amazed at how insanely FAST installation of my part was as well as the excellent service that was provided. I highly recommend going to this auto shop especially if you are a woman-- it is very common for male mechanics to assume you know nothing about cars especially at dealerships.
