Chicken Mango Curry with a side of white rice
GiGi G.

Shitake Asian Restaurant has a great happy hour deal in Delray. For one set price, you get a drink of your choice (wine, beer, soda, or tea), two crispy fried dumplings, a fresh salad, warm miso soup, and a full entree. I was pleased with the chicken mango curry, which was flavorful and served with a side of white rice, while my mom had the shrimp Pad Thai, a dish that seemed to be a favorite among our party of eight. Sushi is also available and looked good. Service was efficient, patient, and kind. They surprised us with two delicious birthday treats to share for my mom's birthday. Free parking and handicap accessibility are also big plusses. The only drawback is that the restaurant itself feels a bit dated, but the solid food and good happy hour more than make up for it. Overall, a great spot.

3.5 stars. The people here are very nice, attentive service. The food is slightly better than average. Butterfly Shrimp appetizer weak, like what you'd see in the freezer section of Publix... sauce was good. Garlic Fried Rice was pretty good. Mainly came for a duck dish... we had the Southern Duck with Noodles described as Crispy Duck with yellow noodles, oriental greens, bean sprouts, garlic, peanut, scallions and cilantro. The noodles were good, duck is not crispy in any sense... was ok but can't compare to the excellent duck dishes I've reviewed over the past 2 months.

After trying to find a Disney princess dress at nearby Walmart for our daughter's "Dress Up Day" at summer camp, we were HANGRY! Yelp directed us to this sushi spot in a strip mall and it hit the spot! My wife ordered the sushi boat for one and my eight-year-old daughter and I ordered the Mexican roll, shrimp tempura, and California roll. Everything was fresh tasting and delicious! To drink, we both got the red sangria. It comes in a large glass with berries. It tasted like blueberries or pomegranate, but it was good. Unique, but also refreshing. Service was quick and good!

Very disappointed, we've been coming here for years and years. But last night will be the last! The Quality has gone downhill, prices have gone up and the help has gone by the waist side. What a shame!!!

have been meaning to try this place for a long time people said it's good and they were right. We did it tonight cause we got home late and they were open till 930 which is unusual. The food was very good. The waitresses was very good. the place was empty probably because it was like 8 o'clock, and those people in this area are done by then so we could talk and had a fresh hot food served us. I would highly recommend this restaurant no tablecloth nice pictures of Thai looks like Tibet to me. easy parking

My GPS was super misleading because it almost turned me into an office building center. The restaurant itself is quite beautiful, simple and zen. Waitresses work in synced with one another which I love. Popped in for lunch on a Tuesday and have to say I was shocked by how busy they are. The lunch specials are phenomenal for what you get, quality of what is served and the price. For about $15 a person, you get entree, soup, salad and gyozas. It's a steal! Portion was massive and packed with flavors in every last bite!

Delicious food, AMAZING HH deals, and hardworking staff. Their HH memo is amazing! There's a variety of different options that come with salad, soup, dumplings, AND either sake/wine/beer for around $20!!! The food was very good, and the portions were huge. There was only one person working and the place got busy, but he continued to work extremely hard. All the customers and workers were very friendly. It was a cool place, and I'll definitely be returning.

Another great find thanks to Yelp! Although I did have to call them as I wasn't sure they had inside dining. They are only open for lunch 4 days a week, but if you're in the area then, this restaurant has a lot of options for a good value. All the lunch specials include a salad, miso soup, and 2 fried gyoza (dumplings). And I don't mean a choice of one of these...but all three of them! We came in and they were very busy. All the booths were occupied so we got a table in the middle of the room. We were immediately given menus, and a carafe of ice water. After we ordered, it seemed like in no time we received a piping hot bowl of miso soup, the two gyoza in a small dish with a sweet sauce, and a ginger dressing salad. All were delivered at once. My husband got their sushi set. This had a California roll and 4 pieces of sushi chosen by the chef. I remember tuna and salmon and there were two other types of fish. I had their cashew nuts with chili sauce. I chose shrimp for my protein. It was slightly spicy. Veggies included mushrooms, snow peas, carrots, squash, and scallions. A mound of white rice was on the side of the plate. It was good. So put together organized efficient service, a fast kitchen, tasty, well prepared food, a filling combo of value added extras, and you've got a winner. I'm sure we will be back as there are lots more items on their menu that I'd like to try.

First, we had Alexis as our terrific waitress. She is personable, knowledgeable and experienced. We came knowing we were having their signature dish - the Peking Duck served traditional style with cucumbers, scallions, pancakes with Hoisin sauce and their 5 star fried rice. We ordered two of those plus two appetizers: the edamame and their ribs. This was the best we have had anywhere. The duck was so tender it comes sliced to the table on a huge wooden platter. The edamame was charred and in an incredibly tasty sauce. The ribs were meaty and falling off the bone. Hats off to the chef! Thank you for making this dinner so memorable. While we waited, we ordered some drinks from the bar. They had warned us that the seating would be a bit tight, but it wasn't too bad. It is best to do things family style at this restaurant, but our group wanted too many different things and was worried about the costs. Things are a bit on the pricier side here, but the food is pretty yummy. I ended up getting a rainbow roll and hotate nigiri that I really enjoyed, but my sushi came out to almost $50. It was great for our group, just know it's on the pricier side. I recommend going to the bar for their happy hour!

We had a wonderful lunch here…read more They weren't busy when we came in. Just a couple other tables were occupied. One room is the regular dining room, and the other is a huge sushi bar taking up the length of the restaurant. The restaurant is a Korean restaurant with Sushi and Dim Sum and a few other Chinese meals. The regular menu is large. Plus, if you are there during the week, ask for their lunch menu. My husband ordered their sushi bento box from the lunch menu. It came with a house salad with ginger dressing and miso soup to start. The salad was crisp, and he liked the ginger dressing. The miso soup was served hot and had pieces of tofu in it. The bento box had 5 pieces of sushi and a half hamachi roll (he could have also chosen a half tuna instead). He said the fish was very fresh and delicious. I started with an avocado salad -- from the main menu. It had a lot of slices of avocado on top of the lettuce with cucumbers and tomato. There was a vinegar-based dressing on top of the salad. It was good, but I preferred the ginger dressing which I got a bit of on the side. Then I ordered a few items from the Dim Sum section of the menu. I started with their turnip cake. It was perfectly cooked on the outside and soft and creamy inside. It's one of my favorites and usually if they do this one well, then all the others are good. I'd wanted to try their shrimp stuffed eggplant or the crispy shrimp with taro but they didn't have any of these in house. So I had their classic steamed crystal shrimp dumplings. I liked these as well. We had very good and friendly service throughout. We even got a taste of two of their kimchi's as a comp offering. There are a number of Korean dishes and combos with different soups and grilled meats and fishes that we'd like to try. I know we will be back here -- I'm hoping that it is sooner rather than later.

Unfortunately they didn't have Uni or any of the fish bellies. The chef said they couldn't buy them bc they're brand new and don't have the customers yet. Hopefully they'll speculate soon, bc people aren't going to be happy when they do show us and several top offerings are unavailable. I will definitely be back and I look forward to trying Korean entrees and dim sum soon. Ambience is nice and comfortable.
