As a captain of our restaurant club from Valencia Sound, I took my 10 neighbors to Furin Sushi and Thai this Wednesday evening. This was a first for all of us but certainly not our last. Everyone agreed that the food was excellent- very fresh with good flavor and had great presentation. The menu depicts a picture for every item offered. It is vast and at first overwhelming. But our amazing waitress, Sasa who not only took care of our whole group with great care, patience and grace, she also attended to all the other tables in the restaurant. It's a small clean venue with Asian murals surrounding us. I thought it was adorable. We were seated at a long set of tables put together in the middle of the room. It's hard to talk and get to know everyone with this arrangement- a round table is best- but we were very grateful that they accommodated us. They also have outside seating with lighting that was festive and adorable. They offer a wide range of sushi rolls, noodle entrees and hot and cold appetizers. They also had wine and beer. It did take a reasonable amount of time to get served but that was understandable based on the fact that we ordered lots of sushi rolls and they were generous portions. This is not a glamorous, high end establishment, but you can expect great authentic food. They also gave us separate checks without a problem. It's a neighborhood gem!

This is my first time at Furin Sushi & Thai. My friend ordered the Red Dragon roll. She says that it's delicious, and she gets it every single time. She also ordered chicken Penang curry. It has just the right amount of spice. My other friend ordered the tofu fried rice. She said it was delicious, and the tofu was absolutely superb. I ordered the steak teriyaki with veggies and jasmine rice. I usually order medium well steak, and this one was cooked perfectly. The rice was very fluffy. Our server was also very nice.

Service was excellent! Eggy was very personable and has a great memory. Although the serving size was nice - on the large size - the sushi was bland. The salmon, tuna, etc had no flavor like it should. The chicken appetizer was greasy. Overall, not impressed with the food. However, I will go again because I believe the Thai food is probably their specialty so I want to explore this before I write off the restaurant.

Good service, food is fresh. Unfortunately my Furin pad Thai was so sweet I couldn't enjoy it. I took it home and fed it to the kids, they like sweet. I would not get it again. I'll have to try something else next time.

Definitely a hole in the wall sushi restaurant. Just happened to come across it while grocery shopping in the area. They have a giant menu with a variety of options to cater to everyone's dietary needs/preferences. And they have pictures in the menu which I love and found to be quite helpful. The food was delicious, the staff super friendly and all items were reasonably priced. Can't wait to go back and try some other items.

I'd been hearing rave reviews from friends, both locals and visitors alike, all saying, "You HAVE to try this place!" So, when one of my friends suggested an early dinner there, I jumped at the chance. First off, I had no idea where this place was located since I rarely venture "west of Federal," but turns out it's in the same plaza as the Aldi off Linton. (My one and only visit to that Aldi left me with mild PTSD from battling senior citizens for lettuce - West Delray adventures, right?) When you hear "hole-in-the-wall sushi spot," Furin Sushi and Thai should come to mind immediately. The place is rather small, with just a few tables, giving it a cozy, intimate vibe. But don't let the size fool you - this small restaurant tucked in the strip mall delivers some seriously impressive food. The menu is HUGE - think Cheesecake Factory-sized, but for sushi and Thai delights. Navigating through the menu could be a whole evening's activity in itself, with page after page of mouth-watering options. From traditional sushi rolls to a wide array of Thai dishes, there's a lot. If you're feeling overwhelmed by the choices, just ask your server. They're incredibly helpful and eager to make recommendations based on your preferences. We started with a few different kinds of sushi. The portions were generous, and the prices were just right - a rare combo around here! The sushi was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. It was clear from the first bite why this place has such a loyal following. But wait, there's more! We also some ramen. It was everything you'd want in a comfort food - rich broth, tender noodles, and savory toppings that made every spoonful a delight. The contrast between the cold sushi and the warm, hearty ramen was perfect for our mixed cravings. The atmosphere might be unassuming, but the service is top-notch. Our server was attentive and genuinely interested in ensuring we had a great dining experience. She checked on us frequently, refilled our drinks promptly, and even shared some insider tips about their favorite dishes and how they're prepared. It's the kind of personalized service that makes you feel like a valued guest rather than just another customer. Despite being in a strip mall, Furin Sushi and Thai has a charm that's hard to beat. The small space adds to its appeal - it feels like you've discovered a secret spot that only the lucky ones know about. So, if you find yourself "west of Federal" and craving something amazing, make your way to Furin Sushi and Thai.

Really fun and friendly staff!

One of my best friends raves about this place and I see why! We decided to go so I could experience this delicious and fun restaurant. Off the beaten path in the Aldi plaza is this hidden gem. First off, the decor is very quaint and playful, and as you enter, bountiful greetings from their friendly staff. This is a restaurant that appreciates your business and wants to make sure you enjoy yourself. Rod, the chef/owner was very friendly and the staff is trained well. Started with edamame, and had a few rolls: tuna lover roll, Delray roll, scorpion king roll, crazy salmon roll, and one other. ALL winners. Actually, everything coming out of the kitchen looked great -- and you can tell the restaurant takes pride in their dishes. I'm really glad my friend broadened my sushi horizons with this place because I'm adding it to my list of "will be back" for sure.

Spicy Crab Temaki

We've seen this spot next to Aldi and Sal's and always wanted to try. So after a Sunday night grocery shopping we decided to give it a try. Really off the radar, not much of advertising or super wow decoration for the place but let me tell you!! The temaki (sushi cone) of spicy crab, super filled with meat like it was really chubby!! Really tasty and not that spicy tbh (for my fellow spicy scared). My roll wasnt that much I expected on taste, maybe i missed by ordering it but let me tell you, 10 piece roll and thick thick pieces. So come in hungry because it will be too much and u'll need to take home Service was ok, greeted and had drinks promptly. Will be back!

Been coming here for many, many years and it's by far the best Sushi in Florida. Worth driving to. Family owned and operated. Very clean

Raining needed to get out and landed here! Great greeting from staff makes you feel special. Ordered Tom Yum soup with veggies and an Ocean Roll. The roll is important because many restaurants serve everything with potatoes and rice- I eat neither and this is a different roll with lots of fish and no rice! Great presentation and mostly absolutely delicious!!! Whoever designed this roll is an artist! The restaurant was very quiet in fact I was the only one here for awhile. FURIN is a great restaurant with sincere taste and care for the patrons.

We had a really good time trying out Furin for lunch. We were the first customers to arrive upon opening. So service was quick and food was piping hot. The server kindly explained the menu as it was our first time and patiently waited for us to decide. I ended up getting the lunch combo which was an excellent deal. The sushi was okay but the cashew nut with shrimp was excellent. The food definitely has an umami taste so I can see why the crowd picked up while we were eating. I would definitely consider this place a hidden gem as it's in a plaza with a Aldi and Big Lots nestled in Delray by Military and Atlantic. The weather was nice so we ate outside although I was attacked by a bee. I gave this place four stars because my water was never refilled and we didn't have soy sauce for the sushi. I'd love to come back to try more food items.

I really liked my lunch here today. They have a lot of lunch specials of both sushi/Japanese and Thai offerings --plus their regular full menu. So many items looked appealing that it was hard to choose which one to try. Service was welcoming and friendly. The kitchen was pretty fast, as well. We both decided on their Thai "crazy mix". You get a choice of soup or salad. Then a choice of two appetizers and a main entree with white rice -- all served in a compartmentalized bento box. I had their salad which was mixed greens with shredded carrots, cucumbers, and a grape tomato. The dressing was carrot ginger. I think I'll try the miso soup next time. For my two apps, I chose the crispy shrimp tempura (two lightly battered pieces of shrimp) and their fried pork gyoza dumplings (3 pieces). Each had its own dipping sauce. For an entree, I had their shrimp in ginger sauce. Along with the shrimp, there was zucchini, red and green peppers, carrots, mushrooms, and celery. I had requested no onions. All the shrimp and veggies were in a ginger sauce with actual slivers of ginger. It went well with the white rice. We both really liked our lunches. The prices are also quite reasonable. I look forward to coming back and trying more of their menu.

We left a credit card deposit for half of our meal and made reservations weeks in advance. Taki Omakase's curated 18-course chef's choice menu offers traditional Japanese nigiri and cutting-edge, innovative seafood & wagyu dishes. The seafood is flown here directly from Japan using specialized torch-searing and Binchotan charcoal grilling, some dishes finished with the opulence of genuine gold flakes. The menu celebrates bold flavors and exotic textures, featuring luxurious accents such as truffle, foie gras, yuzu, and plum. We found street parking in front & opened the nondescript door with Japanese characters. We had one of the 12 seats at tonights only seating. We chose the Delray location which is more modern than the traditional Omakase at the Mizner Park, Boca Raton restaurant . I appreciated the opportunity to engage with Patrick our Michellen star chef while watching him prepare each course with precision & love. We started by sharing Tatenyan Kitty sake that was light of fragrant with a gentle, sweetness and dry finish that was well balanced. I enjoyed watching Patrick prepare each dish some torched, with gold dust, charcoal, and minut details with tweezers. Patrick told us about each course & the ingredients contained. He gave us the Japanese name of each fish as well as the American translation. Every piece of fish was buttery, interesting & exceptional. I ate & ate for almost 2 hours salads, wagu, toro, sea urchin, miso... for dessert we had a refreshing lemon sorbet topped with a baby peach.

My favorite was the Miso cod and Wagyu steak. There's nigiri pieces, a hand roll and a nice sorbet to end the night. Besides uni, my highlights were the sea bream and mackerel. I also requested hot water with lemon and it came in a pot with a tea candle, very well presented! I was impressed. Our dining sets were cleared very efficiently. Wish the servers would be more friendly and smiled more though. What left a bad impression was the server was in such a rush to check out our group, she ran my card twice and then said she refunded and ran my husband's card once but upon checking my CC statement, nothing was refunded so we were charged 3 times for 2 people. When I called to clarify, she said there's nothing she could do as everything on their end was correct and I needed to contact my bank. After much turmoil back and forth, she was able to find the mistake (she refunded the wrong guest) and finally corrected it. Frustrating experience.

Good presentation, simple, did not fall apart, tastes good. Price and portion was a plus 2) Salmon Carpaccio ($12)- comes with 5 pieces, topped with fried garlic and yuzu/truffle oil. I barely tasted truffle and I would think it would have came with more pieces, at least 6-8. Overall, tasted good 3) Beef short rib skewer ($9)- comes with 2 skewers of bite size pieces was underwhelming, a bit pricey. It was dry and def needed some oil and salt to make it juicy and some flavor Service was great! Sushi chefs did a great job with the rolls and apps. Do recommend for happy hour!

The Korean style beef was okay, but I needed to add eel sauce for some extra flavor. The 1/2 California Roll, gyoza and side salad with ginger dressing were fresh and delicious. I enjoyed the sushi roll the most. My two coworkers both ordered different types of sushi rolls. One had fish and the other was a sweet potato roll. The restaurant packed both of the rolls in the same box, which resulted in a mess, as the sauce on one roll got mixed in with the other roll. This was my first time visiting Yama and three things popped up on my mind as to how they were able to stay in business for so many years. 1) The warm hospitality of the owner chef who was Korean, still tending to his sushi bar and his customers after working behind the sushi bar himself for decades in his younger years. 2) The beautifully and intricately designed interior that reminded me of upscale looking Izakaya dining space that was still affordable. 3) The fresh quality ingredients that they use and in house made salad dressing was a nice touch. The sushi was decent. There was too much rice used and too much going on top of the sushi pieces for my liking, but I still managed to finish them.
