Have another go-to Thai place in the neighborhood, and wanted to try something new, so found Ichiban Sushi and Thai just south of Delray Beach. The food was great and I will be back! Apps: Ordered a spicy tuna roll, which had 10 pieces of semi-spicy tuna sushi with avocado and cucumber; it was delicious and balanced. Spring rolls - another hit, which I'd get again. Also had a yummy wonton soup, which was flavorful and a nice treat during a relatively cold week in South Florida. Mains: The ginger sauce with steak came with a healthy portion of meat and veggies in a flavorful brown sauce. The strips of ginger were large and noticeable. Also had a Panang curry with shrimp - there was a good amount of shrimp (7-8), and the sauce was flavorful. I didn't taste/crunch any peanuts, but it was still delicious. The curry had enough leftover sauce and veggies to mix with a homecooked protein as a second meal. Both sides came with a scoop of rice in a Styrofoam container. The parking lot was easily accessible, with plenty of parking, and there was only a couple seated at the bar when I took out my order. Came here for a late sushi dinner. Got the crab ragoon and fried sticky rice appetizer. I got a roll and a miso soup. It was pretty average. Not bad but nothing to write home about. read more

As I walked up, I saw leftover food on the tables outside. You could tell there were sitting there because there were flies around the plates. Not a good impression. I entered and was greeted by a not so friendly brunette waitress. I told her I wanted to place a to go order. She pointed at the small sushi bar where there wasn't anyone there so o stood there. She came over and asked what are you getting? I asked a couple of questions, one being if they had lunch specials and two, I asked about a couple of items on the menu she handed me. She pointed at the dish I asked about and read the description on the menu. Did not give me additional information. Very rude. I asked if the food had been started yet (1 min after I ordered) because I noticed there WAS a lunch menu she didn't tell me about. She went in the kitchen, a man came out (sweating) looked at me and went back inside. So strange. She comes out and said yes. I took the food, tried to eat it but I threw it out. First time here and had a good experience! Service was good! My boyfriend got the California roll and said it was good! I got the chicken spring rolls and to be honest I've had better but still decent. He got the chicken hibachi rice with extra rice and I got the chicken and broccoli ! We both got a salad with ginger dressing with our meals. Felt the salad needed more dressing because mine had barely any on it. The meals though were really good! Stopped in for lunch. They have plenty of tables outdoors. We sat inside. It was dimly lit. There were 7 tables and a  bar with 6 seats. I hope they are busy at dinner or with takeout because we were the only diners. The lunch specials include soup or salad. The salad was fresh and small with a good ginger dressing. My stir-fry had a nice flavor, not salty nor bland. Sashimi lunch had 6pcs of sashimi (salmon, tuna, yellowtail), a roll and 2 pcs of crispy pork gyoza. This is the best sushi in town and it's not even expensive. Eating and taking out are both nice and the girl who works here is always so nice. Definitely a smaller restaurant tho so keep that in mind when trying to accommodate a large party of people eating in. I couldn't recommend this place enough. When it comes to my sushi rating, I care about the tenderness of the rice and freshness of the fish. The rice was a little hard, we didn't like either roll. This restaurant is one of my favorites for several reasons. Firstly, the service is great. Whenever I go, the staff goes the extra mile. Very slow service. It took 45 minutes to only get our soup and salad. There was hardly anybody inside. I came during my lunch break and only had an hour. Since there was nobody inside I expected my food to come out quick. On top of that, our server had absolutely no remorse for the slow service. This has been my go-to sushi spot with my friends for almost 2 years and it never disappoints. The staff is always friendly, accommodating and open to suggestions. The food, don't get me started, cause I WILL DROOL. This isn't a typical low scale sushi restaurant where it's 50/50 hit or miss, EVERYTHING you order will not disappointment. Furthermore, happy hour everyday from 5-7pm and then again 9 to close where you will find BOGO on all drinks except bottles of wine. As well as 15% off an order of $50 (dine in only) and 15% off all pick up or delivery orders of $40. There are healthier options for people who are watching their weight as well and I've had a few off that list and I'd say the Sexy Mali and Belly Dancing roll are my favorite! Give it a shot and I doubt you'll be disappointed! This is one of Boca's finer "hole in the wall" places and you won't find this place packed with tourists but instead, locals who know how to eat well. A++ read more

We love Ichiban!! We've had the same waitress each time we went (strange coincidence) but she is very nice. Our food always comes out quick and the small restaurant is never too busy. The food is delicious, our favorite is always the Tom yum soup. I will say, be careful about ordering things spicy, like we do, because boy do they give you spice! Must must must try. So disappointed. I was craving tempura shrimp and veggies. I called and ordered delivery for lunch. I requested no broccoli and asked what came with the order..."nothing. I ordered a side of chicken fried rice. I got about 8 pieces of California roll (which I don't eat and didn't order) some kind of wilted lettuce and cabbage(?), 2 tempura shrimp and 3 pieces of tempura veggies (one piece of onion, one piece of carrot and one piece of zucchini). So I paid $25 and change for 2 shrimp and 3 pieces of tempura veggies and fried rice. I called to let them know I wasn't happy. The girl who answered (who also took my order) seemed really not interested. She said it was what I ordered...smh. The rice was soggy btw. Never again. read more

Just got delivery from here. Their menu is super extensive and has all the sushi/Thai food that you would normally crave. My one problem is that they really don't have any vegan options and one vegetarian option. They were great about substitutes with the sushi and were okay with subbing my cream cheese for tofu so it could be a little healthier. The delivery took a pretty long time, so prepare for that. However, the food was amazing and the sushi was a unique combination I hadn't tried before. My friend got a roll with eel and also said it was really good.
