[[HIGHLIGHT]]If you're looking for quality Thai and sushi in a more casual, chill environment, come to Khao Thai & Sushi.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Like many restaurants in the area, it's in a strip mall, which means there's plenty of parking. Service is efficient and there wasn't much wait for our food to arrive on a Friday evening in March. To eat, my eight-year-old daughter, wife, and I shared the sushi boat for one and the tom kha gai soup for two. It was surprisingly filling and everything tasted great! My wife and I enjoyed the Sauvignon Blanc.

Last month my friend and I stopped in for lunch. We planned on meeting for lunch a few stores down, but that place unexpectedly closed. Everything happens for a reason, as we found Khao and wound up having such a wonderful meal. The lunch menu has a good selection of Sushi and Thai dishes, all of which are fairly priced. Khao is a new family owned business, that I believe opened during the summer. They only use locally sourced ingredients to create wonderfully authentic dishes. During this visit we both ordered off of the Thai menu and it was fabulous, but next time I will try a few of their sushi rolls. I'm not sure if our server was an owner, but he welcomed us in for lunch and didn't rush us, which was appreciated, as the restaurant is quite small. They do a tremendous amount of take-out, as we noticed several people coming in to place and pick-up take-out orders. The Thai lunch specials include soup or salad, rice and a spring roll. The small salad was fresh and I loved the ginger dressing. I picked shrimp as my protein and matched it up with the fresh garlic sauce with stir-fried veggies. This was excellent. The crunchy spring roll was very good as well. I really enjoyed my lunch at Khao and I actually plan on going back this weekend to pick-up some take-out. They are located in the Publix plaza on the NE corner of Jog and Lake Ida. Highly recommend!

Went for lunch and had one of their lunch specials and it was delicious and filling. Massuman curry with shrimp over rice.

I had plans & was expecting to go someplace else for lunch. This Thai sushi restaurant opened in July and it looked like a good alternative. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The restaurant looked clean, our waiter was friendly & attentive, and lunch was delicious.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Happily we weren't rushed we were able to sit and chat for two hours. There was a lovely lunch menu. One side was sushi and the other Thai. The lunch specials were reasonably priced and came with a spring roll and a choice of soup or salad. Most of the lunch specials had a choice of protein. I ordered the pad Thai with shrimp and a salad. Portions were generous and everything was delicious. The best part was lunching with a yel friend & having nice company! I look forward to coming back!

Basil Duck - the duck is tasty and crisp, but it lacked spice

Khaki Thai & Sushi is an interesting combination, but not a master of either. The duck ramen was a nice duck soup but oddly did not have ramen noodles, and the egg was not marinated (it was just a boiled egg). The basil duck was tasty and crispy but had no spice. The sushi was fine. My in-laws enjoyed their pineapple fried rice. Service is good and friendly. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It is a nice place with room for improvement.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The menus (one is Japanese, the other Thai) are both quite large, but the restaurant might benefit from either (1) picking a lane, or (2) reducing the variety of dishes overall.

We had an excellent lunch at this new restaurant that has only been open for a few days. We met the owner, Nat, who's family previously owned another restaurant in the area. Naturally, we received very good, friendly and personable service. The restaurant is easily found by its suite number, although the marquee still was showing the former restaurant's name there. Inside is a small sushi bar and regular dining tables. The lunch menu has a lot of choices. In addition, there is their regular menu with both Thai and Japanese offerings. I ordered their panang curry with shrimp. Lunches come with your choice of soup or salad. We both chose the salad. This was mixed greens with a very good carroty ginger dressing. Nat asked me about my preferred spice level. This curry starts out at about a 1 or 2, so I decided to have it as is without adding a higher level. This turned out to be perfect for me -- a touch of a kick without making me cry. The curry was very, very good. This version had green beans, red and green peppers, kaffir limes leaves and coconut milk along with five shrimp. It is served with a spoon to add in the white rice (in a heart shape on the plate) and to spoon up the sauce -- which you will want to do. Also, the curry came with a small fried spring roll and sweet dipping sauce. My husband had one of their sushi lunches called "Birds Rock". He chose one with three rolls. There were two small rolls -- one with tuna and one with salmon. Although the photo shows a larger number of these rolls, the lunch usually comes with 4 pieces of each. In addition, there was a 5-piece large Mexican roll. He thoroughly enjoyed his meal, as well. On the way out, we stopped by a table with a couple who had ordered quite a lot of food just to see what they had. Everything looked wonderful -- from the special house sushi roll with multiple types of fish to the roast pork bao buns, from a grilled pork skewers dish to the very large bowl with duck ramen. We got some ideas for future as these are some favorites. We wish the restaurant and Nat well in this new endeavor. We look forward to returning in the very near future to try more of their menu.

What a welcome surprise to find this Wonderful restaurant and enjoy a spectacular meal! We were greeted and welcomed by Nat, the restaurant owner, who invited us to be seated and promptly delivered a Lunch Menu and the Full House menu of Japanese and Thai dishes, that not only look enticing but actually are very delicious! I chose the J12- Birds Rock from the Lunch menu Sushi section. This is a combination of Tuna Roll, Salmon Roll and a Mexican Roll. My starter choices were soup or salad ... I went with the salad which was a nice salad with Ginger dressing. (I liked the dressing so much, I kept my bowl to dip some of my sushi pieces in). My wife enjoyed her Curry selection which had the perfect heat level for her palate. Other couples were having their lunches and enjoying everything as well as we did! Nat stopped by several times to check on us and after we finished our meals we chatted about his newest venture and found out about his (and his family's) restaurant ventures in South Florida. We will be back to see Nat and dine at Khao Thai & Sushi again!

Where do we begin from the moment you walk in, you are welcomed with open arms. It is so cute and authentic with the decor and the family atmosphere is wonderful. We know the food is freshly made to order, even if you have any dietary guidelines. My favorite is the variety of soups and sushi rolls, the father makes all the sushi rolls to order and the mom does all the cooking. It feels so rewarding to support a local Restaurant and family and you know you are getting quality ingredients and food when you are there!! Please take the time go experience the most delicious food, with an authentic flavor you will Want to come back to many times over. Peace out!!

We wanted to try a new place so we came to Khao Thai and Sushi. Glad we gave it a shot as it was really delicious. Waitress was super sweet and a menu with lots to choose from. Everything from the steamed dumplings, to the ginger salad to our bento boxes, absolutely delicious with great flavors. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Really cute place and will definitely be coming back.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

We left a credit card deposit for half of our meal and made reservations weeks in advance. Taki Omakase's curated 18-course chef's choice menu offers traditional Japanese nigiri and cutting-edge, innovative seafood & wagyu dishes. The seafood is flown here directly from Japan using specialized torch-searing and Binchotan charcoal grilling, some dishes finished with the opulence of genuine gold flakes. The menu celebrates bold flavors and exotic textures, featuring luxurious accents such as truffle, foie gras, yuzu, and plum. We found street parking in front & opened the nondescript door with Japanese characters. We had one of the 12 seats at tonights only seating. We chose the Delray location which is more modern than the traditional Omakase at the Mizner Park, Boca Raton restaurant . I appreciated the opportunity to engage with Patrick our Michellen star chef while watching him prepare each course with precision & love. We started by sharing Tatenyan Kitty sake that was light of fragrant with a gentle, sweetness and dry finish that was well balanced. I enjoyed watching Patrick prepare each dish some torched, with gold dust, charcoal, and minut details with tweezers. Patrick told us about each course & the ingredients contained. He gave us the Japanese name of each fish as well as the American translation. Every piece of fish was buttery, interesting & exceptional. I ate & ate for almost 2 hours salads, wagu, toro, sea urchin, miso... for dessert we had a refreshing lemon sorbet topped with a baby peach.

My favorite was the Miso cod and Wagyu steak. There's nigiri pieces, a hand roll and a nice sorbet to end the night. Besides uni, my highlights were the sea bream and mackerel. I also requested hot water with lemon and it came in a pot with a tea candle, very well presented! I was impressed. Our dining sets were cleared very efficiently. Wish the servers would be more friendly and smiled more though. What left a bad impression was the server was in such a rush to check out our group, she ran my card twice and then said she refunded and ran my husband's card once but upon checking my CC statement, nothing was refunded so we were charged 3 times for 2 people. When I called to clarify, she said there's nothing she could do as everything on their end was correct and I needed to contact my bank. After much turmoil back and forth, she was able to find the mistake (she refunded the wrong guest) and finally corrected it. Frustrating experience.

The Korean style beef was okay, but I needed to add eel sauce for some extra flavor. The 1/2 California Roll, gyoza and side salad with ginger dressing were fresh and delicious. I enjoyed the sushi roll the most. My two coworkers both ordered different types of sushi rolls. One had fish and the other was a sweet potato roll. The restaurant packed both of the rolls in the same box, which resulted in a mess, as the sauce on one roll got mixed in with the other roll. Again, this was take-out, so I am sure we would have had a different experience if we ate in the restaurant. I would like to try this restaurant again. This was my first time visiting Yama and three things popped up on my mind as to how they were able to stay in business for so many years. 1) The warm hospitality of the owner chef who was Korean, still tending to his sushi bar and his customers after working behind the sushi bar himself for decades in his younger years. 2) The beautifully and intricately designed interior that reminded me of upscale looking Izakaya dining space that was still affordable. 3) The fresh quality ingredients that they use and in house made salad dressing was a nice touch. The sushi was decent. There was too much rice used and too much going on top of the sushi pieces for my liking, but I still managed to finish them. The servers were welcoming and the manager was very hospitable checking up on me to make sure I had everything that I needed. Will definitely recommend this place to others. The parking spaces were limited and it was crowded on a Friday night around 830pm.
