My filet tips were very good as was the salad bar. BUT besides an additional charge for the salad bar you have to pick 2 sides. A baked potato is a .79 up charge and mushrooms $1.69. We had a party of 8 people. When we arrived they might have had 2 other tables of patrons ordering food. There were a few people in the bar, drinking and watching the game. Even though they weren't busy at all they told us it'd be a 15 minute wait. We agreed and waited. They seemed annoyed that we didn't decide to leave. If I had it to do over again I would have. They took our order right away. I ordered 16 oz steak tips, fries, and salad. Price 24.99. The salad wasn't bad but the steak tips were mostly inedible (full of gristle that was rock hard). I should have sent it back when they first brought it out and it looked like something that someone had already tried to chew up once. They mostly stayed on top of our drink refills. I don't think I'll risk a 2nd experience at this establishment. The steak tips were the worst I've ever had. I didn't see any reason why we needed to wait 15 minutes other than it really seemed like they wanted us to leave. Also their restrooms are in the foyer between the main entrance and the 2nd set of doors. There wasn't any heat or hot water in the restrooms. Thank you Yelp for bringing this spot to our attention. It has a very good and extensive salad bar which after traveling awhile, really is refreshing. We could eat in the bar area without waiting for a table, and so enjoyed our host(hostess/barmaid) who served delicious beer in a frosted, cold glass! We both had the roast beef special that comes with 2 sides and bread served with cinnamons butter....all comforts while traveling! Tried Shiloh again after a couple years. Service was fair. You have to wait for the waitress to bring you salad plates, so you are delayed a bit and thus discouraged from going back to the salad bar. The men's room at the front door, and the front lobby are not heated, so it made for a very chilly experience on a 20* night! The salad bar is decent, but you do pay extra. The bread is fair but chewy. The ribeye steaks had a strange seasoning, leaving a funny taste. We both ate about a third and took them home to doctor them for another meal. Food was horrible. Chicken was so tough couldn't eat it. It must have been a world class rough tough chicken fighter. Steak was over cooked and given the wrong cut. It was about 30 seconds on the grill from being leather. Manager came over to "make right" she argues over the cuts. I'm no expert but have processed enough of my own beef on the farm to know the difference between a strip and a ribeye. After the discount still paid over $100. It used to be a good restaurant but it has went down on quality with their food and way up on price. We never send food back we've all worked public service and try not to be "Karen's", but this time we had to and still had sub par food. Hadn't eat there in a couple years. Excited to see they offered a salad bar but that was short lived, you can't get a piece of meat with a salad bar must order a full meal to get chicken, steak, etc with the salad bar. The plates are brought to you by the server and they are so small as you can see by my pic that literally your food can't help but fall off the sides. You will need to ask for a second plate if you want to try things like broccoli or potato salad but tbh don't waste your taste buds time. It was some of the worst. I ordered the char grilled chicken needless to say if I had to do it over I wouldn't order that. It was dry and flavorless. One of the kids ordered a burger or should I say a bun with a side of burger. The complimentary rolls are anything but a compliment, even our 4 yr old granddaughter spit hers out, this is what they use for their croutons as well. If I could give zero stars I would. I honestly don't see how this restaurant even passes a health inspection. So my family arrive to an almost empty restaurant at 3 pm. The hostess tells us to go to another hostess stand for check in, we stood for a while until she walks over and says sorry. Our waiter took 30 minutes to take our order because "no one told him we were there", I guess his eyes weren't working. It took over 30 minutes to get our food. Everyone's food was basically inedible. I felt so bad when I saw the chili they served my mom, it was so dry and visibly old looking. The chili smelled like dog food and my mom could only take one bite. The baked potatoes were disgusting like how do you mess that up?! And the staff was a little grubby, but that might be normal for Kentucky. If you want to see how a steak should come out (quality and hot) go to Trabucco oaks steakhouse in Trabuco canyon California. It was Richard Nixon's favorite steakhouse when he lived in San Clemente. Was looking for a break on our drive to Michigan from South Carolina and wanted to stay away from the normal chains I would normally stop at. But the food we did get wasn't very good. The spinach artichoke dip was really just spinach and it tasted funny, kind of like it had freezer burn. My spouses steak, a $29 24 ounce porterhouse Tbone was perfect and so so delicious. My two grilled pork chops were huge and cooked perfectly. The starter salad was better than the average due to the fresh bacon and croutons. I wanted to knock the rolls, that weren't made in house, but they too were good. Jill was quick, courteous and nice. Ordered an app sampler. Offered to top skinswith bbq chicken so i said sure. It kind of ruined them. They looked amazing and fresh, and prob would have been without the chicken that tasted old, not fresh or moist. The next strike came when i asked for sour cream and was handed a sealed plastic cop with a peel top containing like one tablespoon of sourcream for four pretty big skins. I can see why the 2.5 star review food was subpar especially for the price. I've had much better at cheaper places. Our waitress was friendly but had an excuse for everything we had an issue with. The rolls we got were hard so had to get fresh ones. Got a salad and was charged for the ranch dressing. Went there to eat prime rib on Saturday. Arrived about 6PM and got seated about 6:30 and they were out of prime rib already. The waiter said, "It goes fast." Well, my family and I went to this place on "Father's Day" to make sure that the king (ahem...me) got his meal. Firstly, let me add there are now NO peanuts to be found here. None. That's good I suppose if you are allergic, but bad if you like salty peanuts to snack on! Well we had a grilled chicken plate w/baked spud and salad, a sirloin tips dinner w/baked and salad, a petite sirloin w/baked and salad and a regular cut prime rib w/baked and salad (gee...we all have the same or similar tastes I guess). Our waitress did an adequate job of waiting on us, so I can find no fault with her. The chicken plate was dry and mediocre at best. The prime rib was large and juicy, but overcooked and served to me at room temperature. The petite sirloin was enjoyed and was done very nicely. However, the kick of them all, was the sirloin tips were not just freezer burnt...but BAD. Rotten! This was pointed out to one of the waitress and a petite sirloin w/baked potato was quickly scrambled to the table. The redeeming factor was that we weren't charged for the rotten tips or its replacement, and shouldn't have been. Lastly, I'll just add that this restaurant has deteriorated quite a bit in the last couple of years. The place does not appear to be very clean and the bathrooms were atrocious. I hate to see such an institution as this come to this sorry state. However, a place that serves bad to mediocre food and good dinner rolls can't last. Word up to the management! I'd say the burger is the best thing they have. And that's not saying much considering it's supposed to be a steakhouse!! The service is hit and miss. I ate there one night and it literally took like 15 minutes before we even had the waitress say anything to us! Their rolls actually kind of suck to be honest.
