    Steak

Ordered 16 oz ribeye rare. Came out with burnt char and at least medium well. Bad dinner date.

    Half steak half nasty gristle.

So I've tried to use the covid 19 carry out process twice and it's ridiculous. First night my fries soaked up all the juice from my steak so I trashed them. And it took an hour and a half to accomplish that and they forgot mt 1.99 butter. Second try it's raining out and I call to let them know I'm there instead of making someone come out in the rain to ask who I am. The lady that answers the phone said no and someone will be out. I mean, come on. And my food was mixed again. Nothing cold fries that taste like salmon.

We arrived first and even though it was a little after 12:00 noon on a Saturday, we were promptly seated. Our server Desseray greeted us promptly, and we ordered iced teas while we waited for the son to arrive. It was a pleasant surprise to hear that both the peach and strawberry flavored teas came in unsweetened and sweetened versions! Hubby ordered the unsweetened peach tea and I enjoyed the strawberry tea. Both were delicious and thirst quenching. Hubby had the garlic tilapia and shrimp with a Caesar salad and red beans & rice, while I had a vegetable plate with the baked potato soup, broccoli casserole, mashed potatoes, baby carrots, and Southern green beans, and the son had a top sirloin steak with a Caesar salad and French fries. The Caesar salads were eaten before I could get pictures taken! All of the food was delicious, but I had to bring home the green beans and mashed potatoes for another meal. A piece of carrot cake went home with the birthday boy!", while Hubby and I brought home glasses of tea. Our server Desseray checked on us frequently, refilled Hubby's tea a few times, as well as offered to-go cups of tea, and overall provided great service for our experience. The deduction of one star is due to how the HVAC vents are positioned in the bar dining area such that air blows on diners in the booths, and the air felt cold today even with the heat on. It's not the first time that I've been cold due to this situation, but today Hubby sitting next to me instead of across from me blocked some of the air from hitting me, and I kept my scarf around my neck to block more. However, this problem is due to the design of the building and not the staff of the restaurant.

So it is located to the side of a road where the speed limit is like 45 mph (but you know people are going to be booking it at 55 and over) and not only that, the entrance only has a stop sign pointed towards anyone trying to exit out of it (This could easily be mistaken as a one way). Since businesses (and this goes for most businesses in KY) tend to have compartmentalized property, there is only one way in and one way out; there is no entrance if one were to come here through the neighboring McDonald's parking lot. The actual item I decided to get was the cajun filet chicken biscuit because some food website was raving about how it is a #1 item; however, I never noticed the cost of a biscuit. It is like $4.19! So with how expensive a biscuit sandwich is and the fact that it was so dry when I bit into it (tasty but dry); it would make sense why I gave it the rating that I did.

They give you the smallest little bag of fries. It was not even big enough for a kid's meal. The world famous biscuits were even disappointing. Great prices for a cold underwhelming meal. I wanted to give this location another chance after the last time when they served us literally burnt food. It was actually charred. It has only gotten worse. Steer clear of this one unless you want to cry into your sweet tea with tears of disappointment.

Our waiter was Parker and he was absolutely awesome and very attentive. When we were seated, Parker brought us 2 complimentary piping hot breadsticks with marinara sauce. We were pleased to hear that these were all-you-can-eat because they were very good! They have quite a few lunchtime specials and from 2:00-4:00 (weekdays) all sandwiches are half off. My wife ordered the lasagna and I ordered the House Calzone. The lasagna was a HUGE serving and very tasty. My House Calzone had ham, ground beef, pepperoni, sautéed mushrooms & onions, mozzarella & ricotta cheese. Oh my! How do I describe this deliciousness! Let's just say that after the first bite, I closed my eyes and enjoyed the flavors! The crust is light and fluffy and it had plenty of ingredients. It was big enough for 2 people to share, but (except for the bite that I gave my wife) I devoured the whole thing! Gondolier is what I would call a small chain restaurant. There are a few scattered around (even one in Sevierville, TN) but they are still small enough to always use top quality ingredients and keep their prices very affordable. There use to be one closer to me in Berea, KY, but unfortunately it closed. You may think this crazy to read, but Gondolier has one of the best cheeseburgers that I have ever had! Without a doubt, we will make the 45 minute drive one-way just to go eat at Gobdolier again and again. Located just off exit 41, its an easy stop off of the interstate if you are traveling through the area. These guys are doing it right! Don't miss it and be sure to ask for Parker to be your waiter.
