I loved the ambiance it put off instantly It feels homey and inviting. Food... I had the Londonian salad, with the honey vinegarett dressing. My husband had the pork burger with blackberry bacon jam. SCRUMPTIOUS!!! Their pickles are so yummy. We were sorry they didn't sell them Miss Shayleigh (sorry if it's spelled wrong) is an excellent server. Super cute spot for brunch in downtown London. The food was a bit of a mixed bag when my group visited. I ordered the chicken & waffles, and they were perfect. My husband & BIL both got omelets. Two of our appetizer plates had old food on them which was gross. I think they may need to check the dishwasher to make sure it is working correctly. The BLT was yummy. Both soups were extremely thick. The potato soup was basically mashed potatoes which I've never experienced before. Food had good flavor but very small portions for the price but that is fairly standard at brunch places. It was a nice enough experience but I probably wouldn't go back. Okay, I'm going to put on my best southern accent.... Y'all this food was absolutely delicious and incredibly tasty. My wife had the Margarita pasta and small Londonian salad. The freshness of the salad was right from the garden and the homemade breadcrumbs jumped out with flavor. I had the large Pear Dream salad, so vibrant and tasty and a bowl of the corn chowder. Very good brunch. Great selection. Prices are high but it's all good quality delicious food. The wait staff are extremely knowledgeable and nice. Coffee selection is not great. You can get drip coffee or you can get drip coffee. No espresso machine. Normally that's understandable but in a higher-end brunch like this, I expected to be able to order a cappuccino. Wow!! I was super impressed from the moment that I walked in. I loved the decor and ambiance. The brunch menu has many options and everything looks so good. What a disappointing experience for dinner tonight. We made reservations considering the holiday weekend. We arrived early. We were Sat timely, but noticed that the host was also bussing tables and was regularly behind in both duties. We ordered several appetizers for our party of just 4 people, myself, husband and two sons. The shrimp and Brussels were divine, cooked perfectly, and crispy. The spinach dip lacked severely. It was so dry with the amount of Parmesan and little cream, it was like a crust less quiche. I am so glad I ordered a half salad, the Londonian was marvelous and had everything I could ask for, it was savory and cheesy, the croutons were sweet which was actually delightful. However, we waited. And we waited. And since our seating at 7:40 pm it was now 9 pm. Our waitress had finally cleared the table of appetizer plates and asked if we were ok. Sure. We've been waiting forever for dinner but please don't delay it further. Too bad. While waitstaff also bartended, they forgot to put in our ticket for dinner. Needless to say we had it boxed up and left, our two children rarely have 2 hour dinner events. Upon arriving home with our packaged dinners and two free desserts, btw I had a cheesecake waiting for me at home, so that was senseless. I was pretty disappointed in the dinner, the boxing was thoughtless as the purple mashed potatoes were rolled into the green beans, no separate containers, along with the peaches that coated the pork chop. The pork chop was tender enough until the middle which was dry. The geeen beans would have been nice if not for the tornado disaster of packaging. Vegetable goulash is not a preference of mine. I want to add that the lighting in the back needs help. You have a gorgeous bar with nice warm lights and directly across are two tables with bright cool light that gives off migraine vibes. There's such a nice selection of music in the late evening, but you may get distracted with two tv's on the wall, one is playing SNL reruns. It feels like you're trying to please everyone and no one at the same time. Bathroom was clean for the ladies room and well attended to. I want so badly to ask one thing. The Fat Man recently went out of town for a work conference in London, KY. While I was there, I stopped at Local Honey for lunch. Local Honey says their food is made with love and fresh ingredients, especially for you. I had the Local Honey Bacon Board, which comes with hand-cut smoked Lardon, Sourdough toast, house jam, and soft cheese. This was dusted with powdered sugar. The bacon was thick-cut with a nice crunch and a good chew with an excellent salt level. I got a nice crunch with the toast, which was buttered well. The house jam was an elderberry jam that was sweet but not overpowering. The cheese was creamy with a hint of garlic tagging, and the chives were slightly bland but paired well with the salty bacon. When you put all the components together, it reminded me of a Monte Cristo sandwich. For my meal, I decided to try the Manhattan. This was prepared with slow-roasted beef, carrots, green beans, mashed potatoes, and brown gravy and served on Texas toast. The green beans and carrots were blanched and cooked with a little crunch but lacked seasoning. The roast beef was dry, chewy, and under-seasoned; however, I also detected a slight sweetness that was unfortunate. The gravy was creamy and smooth, with a good flavor and texture, but there was still sweetness. The mashed potatoes were seasoned perfectly and had large chunks of potatoes, giving texture to the dish. The toast on the bottom had a good crunch, and the amount of bread went well with the serving size. Combining the toast, potatoes, and gravy in one bite offered an okay bite in texture and chew, but the dry, flavorless, sweet meat and gravy took away from the experience and made the meal unable to be finished. Local Honey offers a full bar with a brunch and dinner menu. The service was excellent, and the ambiance was neat for the space. The Fat Man says that Local Honey is NOT Fat Man approved. read more

We recently stayed in London for our family gathering and visited The Local Honey for the first time. Let me tell you, I'm never passing through again without stopping to eat! The service was friendly and welcoming and the ambiance was relaxed and cozy but also perfect for a special night out. The food was absolutely delicious! We tried the Salmon Dip and Bang Bang Shrimp & Brussels apps and I could have licked the bowl of the Bang Bang Shrimp & Brussels! My meal was the 8oz Local Sirloin, which was cooked perfectly and paired with delicious Mashed Potatoes and Broccolini. It's decorated in part with old picture frame pieces, which looks great. My dining companion and I loved the food. Dinner started with pork cracklins, and they were excellent. Good flavor and they were definitely popping/crackling. I liked them so much I took the few we had left home. The cocktail list looked unique and superb. After much back and forth in my own mind, I landed on the Smoked Honey Mai Tai. It came in a whole covered concoction that really gave it a smokey look and flavor. It honestly wasn't my favorite, though it was solid, but I'm glad I tried it. I'd drink it again but probably would order something else. The menu itself was also superb. After that same back and forth, I decided on the popular Creamy Cajun Chicken Alfredo. It had a different but delicious flavor, and I liked that it didn't taste like a standard alfredo. The portion was massive - so much that I had leftovers to last another day and some change. We also ordered some brussel sprouts, and while I'm not generally a fan, they were quite good - a true testament to the food. Arrived around 11:53am and was seated immediately. The building was clean and had a unique style that felt in-line with the local restaurant feel. My wife got a peach tea, which was to sweet for her but I thought it had a full peach flavor. I got a coffee which was average. I got eggs Benedict which was just about perfect. It had little potato bites with it that had a nicely seasoned crust. The wife got a honey burger which was absolutely smashingly good. I've been wanting to try this restaurant for quite awhile and just haven't had the opportunity. One weekday evening, I didn't feel like cooking, didn't want fast food, but didn't particularly want to go "out" to eat either. I decided to just call in an order. I wanted something simple that could stand up to "carry-out". Some meals just don't travel well from nice dine-in restaurants. I decided to keep it simple and go with their Bourbon Bacon Burger described as a 6oz burger with bourbon honey glaze, gouda, blackberry bacon jam, crispy bacon, greens and fried green tomato on brioche bun and ordered a side of fries. At $15, this was extremely reasonable. I called and placed an order for carry out. The young lady that took my order was extremely knowledgeable, efficient, and pleasant. I prepaid with a card and she informed me they were a little busy and might need extra time preparing my meal which was perfectly fine and understandable considering it was in the middle of the dinner rush. I allowed 45 minutes and arrived. She stated I arrived just on time as they had just brought my food out, which could not have worked out better. She made sure to include silverware, napkins, and condiments and was extremely friendly and professional. I signed my cc receipts, added a generous tip, and thanked her before leaving the restaurant. And I must say, the decor and ambiance was amazing. It had a very eclectic style decor which was refreshing and comfortable and appeared to be quite busy upon my arrival. I was looking forward to my meal. After arriving home, soon after, I unloaded my meal on a plate and sat down to eat. The burger sounded absolutely delicious in the description and I wish I could say I wasn't disappointed in the presentation and quality of the meal because I generally wanted it to be good. The burger was literally soooo thick, there was absolutely no way I could fit my mouth around it to take a bite and I seriously doubt the most manliest of men could do so either. Or I guess I should say--I wouldn't want to see him try. The burger was thick, juicy, and well cooked although the seasoning left a little to be desired. It was not a "thin" burger by any means. The portions are quite large. There was also a fried green tomato on the burger that I expected to be much thinner than it was. It was actually more like a thick onion ring and together with the burger, just toooo much. They used a brioche bun which suited the flavor profile but was just not hearty enough to hold that sandwich together. The "blackberry bacon jam" was out of this world and actually tasted quite well with the gouda cheese and burger. The biggest disappointment that I just could not overlook however and almost ruined the entire meal was the sorry excuse for "greens" they had selected to use. With a burger of such magnitude as that one turned out to be, a much crisper choice of "greens" would have been preferable or better yet-forego the selection entirely. With the fried green tomato and all the other delicious flavors, the "greens" were actually unnecessary. What I actually received was slimy, wilted, and I actually had to spit out my first bite in a napkin. After I ate a few fries and let my stomach "settle", I removed the lettuce and tried again. I decided to get a knife, cut the burger in quarter sized portions and removed the tomato to eat on the side to make the burger easier to handle and more palatable as well. After these concessions, the experience was much more manageable and enjoyable. I will definitely say that you will not leave hungry because the portions are too small. The amount of fries I received was more than generous and I could only finish half of the burger. I will also have to say that after the changes I made to the meal, it was definitely full of flavor and I did enjoy the meal. I'm not sure I will order that selection again and if I do, I will definitely ask for "no greens" and the fried green tomato a la carte. I am still anxious to try their weekend brunch inside the restaurant. I have heard it is excellent and am very much looking forward to trying a pitcher of mimosas with friends. I will definitely give The Local Honey another try. read more

Very disappointed. We came in tonight to celebrate my mothers 77th birthday. Had heard good things about this place, and was the first time any of us had been here. We will not be back. We were seated at 5:15. It's 6:43 as I write this, and we still don't have our food. Our waitress was nice, and had a couple of appetizers sent to our table free of charge, but there's no excuse for service this poor, without even an apology or explanation from a manager. My wife asked to speak to a manager, and we were told he would be right out, but he never came to see us. Our food came out around 6:50, and we were told our meals were free. The food was over salted - even the pasta dishes we ordered. Not sure what was going on in the kitchen. Look, any place can have a bad night - it happens. But - you get one chance to make a first impression, and this was a really bad one. For the record, we did leave a tip for our waitress, I don't feel any of this was her fault. read more
