We used to order from Shin usually once or twice a week. But about 5 months ago we decided to take a break as 2 out of 3 orders would arrive with some sort of issue. But recently we decided to give them another try after our hiatus from ordering from them. Unfortunately things just haven't improved. Just last night, we ordered for the 3rd time over the last 2 weeks, and we once again had our order arrive late and with missing items. The order before that arrived cold with most of the soup broth sitting in the bottom of the delivery bag. We had ordered the chicken ramen and what we got was a bag full of broth and a few small, dry meager pieces if chicken in the bowl - not to mention missing toppings that we had paid for. I reached out to the location last night when we got the order and asked to speak with a manager. However we were told that the manager wasn't in and that there was no manager on site. I left a message for the manager and although he called me back from his cell phone from wherever he was, I missed his call back last night as I was out picking up fresh dinner for my family. I reached back out to him today multiple times, and instead of a call back from him, I got a text after my 3rd message today to tell me that he would be refunding the order and that he was sorry for once again having out order be wrong and showing up late. A text. Not a call. That's all well and good, but being candid, I would much rather pay for my meal but have it arrive hot and correct. There is a reason that we took 4-5 months off from ordering from Shin. Usually 1 or 2 times out of 3 orders we experienced some sort of issue, and unfortunately it feels like that is happening again. We ordered 3 times from Shin over the past week, but 2 out of the 3 orders were either missing an item, arrived cold, or things were clearly just thrown together without any care or thought for the customer. We aren't the customer who would order once every 4-5 months, but rather we were the customer who ordered from Shin 4-5 times a month - sometimes more. And if this is happening to us, it's happening to other people as well. As a family/customer, it stinks when you have these things happen more times than not from a restaurant, and unfortunately we are going to take a break from ordering from Shin for now. Unassuming spot at an intersection we all zoom through more than we can count. I'd describe this as easy yet delicious. I went with the Shin ramen which is part pork and part chicken broth. Savory yumminess. The waitress was adorable with a beautiful smile making the place much warmer than I'd expect. Service was QUICK. I'm talking the order was at my table within 5 minutes. Holy moly. We had dinner here the other evening. There isn't a lot of parking out front but they have another lot for more parking. The restaurant is quaint but charming. We started with an order of mixed tempura. It was a large portion and so crispy and delicious. A great way to start. We also got some miso soup. The regular miso soup had a lot of scallions in it, which I love. We also got a clam miso soup which had a lot of clams in the shell. For drinks, we ordered a few cocktails. The Japanese Highball and the Lychee Tini were both perfect. They were blended so well and just absolutely smooth. We decided on a sushi roll. We got the James Mulligan which I think light be named after my friends brother. The yellowtail and tuna were so fresh. The bento box was next. We got a half a California roll, tempura, rice, cucumber salad, chicken karaage and salad. The karaage was so good. The outside was crispy and the chicken on the inside was tender and so flavorful. The yuzu wasabi dressing we got for the salad needs to be sold. It was just addicting. Speaking of addicting, the ghost dip ramen is totally addicting. They toast mini marshmallows tableside and add it to the dashi. The caramelized sugar takes the dashi to a whole new level. I am still thinking about that dashi. Shin Ramen is the BEST Ramen in Los Angeles. Better than anything in Little Tokyo or the Westside. Better than anywhere in NY! And the addition of fabulous sushi make it perfect. Tonkotsu Shoyu with whatever you add is great. Add Zebra garlic and it becomes excellent! read more

I couldn't order from my usual place, which is next to me and I would ordinarily just pick it up. So I got delivery from this restaurant. This is one of the very few places that the food has been so consistently delicious the service has been consistently perfect and the ambiance has been consistently the it place to come have dinner and enjoy every second of it. The parking to this location is a little difficult and not a lot in the front but they do have a back area. The server we had was super nice we did go in before 9pm so there was just us and another table so the service was good and she was really nice. The food was good and came out at a reasonable time. For 3 of us to eat with 2 beers was around $80 dollars which I feel is a reasonable price for the amount of food we got. They do have a pretty good amount of seating available they also do have TVs if you like watching sports. We liked the food and service and would go back if we were in town again. read more

Friendly service, but that's about where the positives end. The food was disappointingly mediocre and lacked the authenticity and flavor you would expect from a Japanese restaurant. I ordered the cold soba, and my boyfriend had the Fire Ramen. Both dishes were forgettable and fell well short of expectations. What was even more frustrating was being charged an extra $2 for protein when the menu clearly states that all ramen come with a choice of protein included. Whether it was a menu issue or a staff misunderstanding, it left a bad impression. The atmosphere also felt off. Rather than a Japanese restaurant, the space had more of a tacky bar/pub vibe, which didn't match the concept or cuisine. I'm always happy to support local businesses and try new places, but this one missed the mark on food, value, and overall experience. I've eaten here quite a few times. I've tried their ramen and sushi. For the price I would recommend going to Sushistop instead it was not very appetizing. The service was fine. The fire ramen had very few toppings you have to pay to add so I would recommend Jinya which is my favorite and walking distance. I will try again maybe they have updated some things. We popped into Shin before watching Wicked for date night and WOW. The rolls were so fresh, beautifully plated, and honestly just hit every craving I didn't even know I had. We ordered a couple different rolls -- the rock shrimp roll came out perfectly golden, fried and creamy, with just the right amount of sauce (not drowning in it, thankfully). The shrimp tempura roll was topped with a generous heap of bright orange masago that gave the best little pop with every bite. Both were balanced, savory, and super satisfying without feeling heavy. The ambiance is cozy in that classic neighborhood-way -- dim lighting, warm tones, and that comforting sound of the kitchen. Food was the biggest disappointment: bland yuzu ramen, a tiny lobster roll with barely any meat, overly sweet edamame, and a bento box that tasted more like BBQ than teriyaki. My niece didn't eat her ramen at all, and we ended up getting pizza next door afterward. Overall, the dining experience lacked flavor, cleanliness, and proper service. I've ordered for my overnight shift salad for lunch break through the uber-eats, it was two salmon poke and they forgot one, I've added ponzu sauce, they forgot it also.
