Here at comic con and looking for a nice place for dinner and this was close to our hotel. The reviews were great so we checked it out. The place is quaint. The service quick and friendly. Food was delicious. Got the Philly roll, salmon sashimi and vegetable tempura. All in a nice small sushi joint in little Italy.

Everything was so fresh and delicious! The salmon belly, yellowtail belly, halibut, bluefin tuna, and fatty toro were all amazing. Definitely coming back!

The food was delicious!! I loved the nigiri & the toro toro roll. I've never had a roll like the toro toro before! The combination of the toro, truffle oil and pickled radish was just perfect! And I loved the Kobe beef nigiri! The service was pretty slow. When we got seated, they asked if we could finish within 45 mins for the next reservation & we said yes. The rolls took more than 30 mins to come out. So we did our best to finish quickly. The vibe of the restaurant is dimmed lights, dark inside to have this romantic feel. They were playing EDM music kind of loud!

Perfectly made jalapeño spicy roll....Phenomenal to the last bite.....I want more

The service was friendly and welcoming. The rolls were awesome. As a bonus they had Japanese beer on draft and the saki was delicious. Like any other high quality sushi establishemt you must be willing the pay the price. In other words "You Get What You Pay For". Would definitely want to eat here again.

Shino Sushi + Kappo really impressed me--super fresh fish, beautiful presentation, and a calm, intimate vibe. You can tell everything is made with care, and the quality is top tier. We made reservations just a day ahead, and it filled up fast--definitely a popular spot! Next time, I'd love to sit at the counter to watch the chefs in action. Every dish that came to our table felt special and thoughtfully prepared. The uni and seasonal sashimi were definite standouts! Lots of umami with every bite/sip. Service was friendly and very attentive. The whole experience felt relaxed yet elevated--perfect for date night or catching up with friends over excellent sushi and a solid sake selection, all without the trendy hype. I'll absolutely be back!

Have been here a few times- made reservations the day before for 6pm on a weekend and have not had any problems. The sushi here is very fresh! We've gotten a variety of things each time, but we always always get the toro toro roll ($29)! It's a bit expensive for a roll but soooo good and so worth it! There is plentiful negitoro and the crispy garlic pieces are so good. The tuna don ($32) has a lot of tuna pieces and comes with miso soup which is nice. We've also gotten several of the sashimi combos and those were also very good. We also usually get a bottle of sake and the prices are reasonable in my opinion. Overall, service is always very good and we always leave satisfied.

Great sushi spot we found while staying in San Diego. The sushi was good and service was great. Staff were friendly and attentive. The restaurant has a large sushi bar area and ample seating, but outside area. We ordered some appetizers, Agedashi tofu, Gyoza, and Seaweed salad. They were all good, but especially liked the tofu with its lightly crisped skin, soft texture and sauce. We ordered the Albacore, Spider, Rainbow, Caterpillar, and Heat wave rolls. All were fresh and sushi size was very good. Overall, a great experience. Happy Nom Nom!

Our hotel was near by and this was open late. We weren't expecting much but it was one of the best sushi places we have been to in a while! The fish was incredibly fresh, melt in your mouth and the waitress who served us made excellent recommendations. A hidden gem. It is a smaller restaurant with high ceilings so it can get loud. Reservations are highly encouraged.

Came back here to give it a second try (first time was solid, not my favorite place and I felt like everything tasted fairly similar but fresh sushi) and enjoyed it a lot more this time! Servers were kind and attentive even on a busy Friday night. The San Diego roll was great, and the miso soup was also a hit. Cozy spot with fresh fish and classic options

Loved this place. The salmon nigiri was spot-on. Super fresh and had that melt-in-your-mouth quality that makes you really want to savor each bite. The agedashi tofu did not disappoint either. The interior space is cool and artsy. Love the modern vibe alongside the sushi bar.

WOW!! This place is legit! Happened to be in this area and was looking for great place to get some…read moreomurice and stumbled into this little gem of a place!! First, street parking only but don't let that deter you from coming coz every inch or foot that you spend walking to this place is all worth it. Secondly, love the ambiance. Reminds me a lot of those ikazaya pubs in Japan but a little more chic and modern. They have bar seating of about 10 and 6-8 tables inside. But they also have outdoor seating. So I came at exactly 11 am and I was the second guest and they sat me at the bar. By 11:30 am, the entire resto was full, not granting it was a Saturday morning but people prolly got smart to come here early before the lunch crowd gets bigger. So for the food, I had to order their Hayachi Omurice and Chef Soichi's Chicken karage and both were BOMB! 11/10 each! Love the flavor of the rice and nice touch of thin slices of meat and the egg was perfectly made. I just wished there were heapings of those egg. The sauce was slightly tangy but love the flavor. The other star of my meal was the karage. Prolly the Top 2 karage I've had. I liked how they sliced in lengthwise and there not too much coating. And it wasn't oily and very juicy inside. Well seasoned and it came with lemon wedges and kewpie mayo. All I did was sprinkle some Nanami Togarashi for an added umami flavor. Overall, this should be on your top 10 restos in San Diego. Service was excellent, the servers were all friendly and always smiles!! Kudos to you guys!! I'll be back for sure!!

Cant remember what they're all called but they were all good and would 20/10 order them again. Ambiance was also wonderful! But what made this place even better was the staff. We were promptly sat down upon arriving. Servers frequently checked on us and were all so nice. But what really stood out was their empathy. Like i said, my son knocked out. He's 5. He woke up as we were leaving. by the time we figured out what was really upsetting him (he wanted to stay there and eat and wanted the table we were on), we have gotten out of our table and obviously the table was then cleaned for the next guests. So basically my lil one cried, took him to the bathroom bec unfortunately we dont get everything we want just bec we cry. So we went into the bathroom for him to cry his feelings out and be ready to get out. Was he loud? Absolutely. Was i embarrassed? Yes. But it was a lesson he needed to learn and i didnt want my discomfort to hinder that. (Mind you the bathroom was in the middle of the stairs lol midway the lower and the upper floor). So was i ashamed to get out? Yes. But the staff, so empathetic. So nice about it. Told me i didnt need to apologize and that they get it. And that made me feel better as a mama who walked out of there carrying a 5 year old out their door. No judgy stares. Just smiles and understanding eyes. So july 18 2026, 4-5pm staff, you are all so amazing and we truly appreciate it. We hope to be back again when in the area.

The seasoning complemented the food instead of masking the natural flavors. Surprisingly, one of the highlights was the simple grilled tofu. It's an easy dish but they executed it perfectly. Make a rez if you get a chance or just go right when they open at 5 to snag a bar seat. Warning- you may be asked to be finished before a certain, which wasn't a problem for us at all and we didn't feel rushed which is a plus. Love that you get to see the chefs cook (grill) in front you at the bar. Their menu is simple which I say is always a good thing. Unfortunately there were a couple of skewers I wasn't fond of- like the beef tongue. Listen, I've had beef tongue prepared in a variety of ways including yakitori style, but this one just wasn't up to par... The tongue still tasted like tongue. I know that sounds weird, but it's like they didn't clean it very well- which in turn made it taste & smell like part of the cow still and I am not down with that. Also, the chicken thigh wasn't as cooked as I thought it would be... Maybe it's suppose to be prepared that way? IDK. That was also a no for me. The highlights were everything else! It's cute that they keep the bone in when you order the chicken wing. It's butterflied on the skewer, different. Loved all the pork items we got as well as the beef skewers. Their takoyaki [$7.50] was super good too! Skewers range from $3.75 to $7.00 each with 3-4 pcs a skewer. Everyone that helped us was friendly! Big parking lot and the restaurant was nicely kept. The ice cream dessert topped us off in such a good way. We'll be back to try more skewers and more of their menu.
