The staff here are really great and keep things running smoothly. I love that they have mat washers and the rags and spray are always stocked. Never had any issues with vacuum suction either. If you go through the window line, you can get free air fresheners. On the last visit there was something wrong with the wheel cleaner and they happily let me go through again and spent extra time pressure washing the wheels before I entered. Disclaimer: I tried Shiny Shell on a free offer to see if I should sign up for a membership. I was very underwhelmed at the quality of car wash I got today at Shiny Shell. My truck was dirty, it definitely needed a wash, and I wasn't expecting a miracle but....One side of the car was coated in water spots, it looked like the spinners hadn't even touched it. The wheels looked like the wheel shine was spritzed in a couple spots. Overall it just was a half a** job. I took advantage of many of their microfiber cloths and essentially re washed half of my truck in the detail area. The detail are was nice and well stocked which earns a second star but I would not recommend this place for a membership. read more

When it's busy, try not to be miffed that you have to wait for your turn like everybody else. :) We signed up again for the Wash Club for our two new vehicles. For now, all we need is the Deluxe (~$40/2cars/month) We both drive through areas with hundreds of bugs. The kids at Shiny Shell spray a generous amount of pretreatment on the windshield, side mirrors and grill. The spray seems to immediately get started dissolving the bug gunk right on contact. Sometimes smooshed insects are baked on like glue and they don't want to come off easily. Carwashes seem to be popping up everywhere! Too bad they're all the one with brushes and not brushless, but maybe it's just me. Just like the other one, it's a monthly subscription (preferred, non-subscription also available) drive thru, wash, vacuum, and you're done type place. They do seem to do a little better at drying your car. There wasn't much to dry. What sets these guys apart? There seems to be a drying roller after the airdryer but it wasn't active when I went through. They also free fountain soda for their members. There's an outside kid area when you're busy vacuuming but with Covid, I don't think it's available. If this is close for you and you don't mind the brushes, it's not a bad deal. read more

I sold the vehicle that was tied to the account and they're still billing me. The line to the car wash is a bit hard to navigate if it's your first time. The exit of the car wash is super close to the line into the car wash. If you go when there's a long line and you're a member you'll still need to wait in line until you turn in and it splits into three lines. The line moves pretty fast and there's always people there to help you. If you are by the window, they don't really tell you about the promotions they are running, so if you don't see the sign...then you missed out. The first time I went I didn't notice the start a membership and get a month for free. The wash was great. Short wash tunnel, but very efficient. They the brush and Bristles aren't too harsh and I'm the end your car goes through a dry rag. There are the standard perks like free vacuum, and Mat wash (but only one). The additional perks that I think is worth it would be they offer all purpose cleaners, window cleaner, and fragrance spray. Don't forget the rags they give you. I came in today for a car wash and to clean up a coffee mess. I got the outside clean, but as soon as I started using the vacuum they shut it off. Zero warning. They were closing, but instead of letting customers who already paid (and almost finished) finish up, they shut me off and told me to come back tomorrow. So now I'm sitting in a filthy car I paid to clean today, but I have to pay to come back tomorrow? I have a schedule just like everyone else. I'll be lucky to have time to come back. This car wash is the best!!! I have a membership so I can keep my truck clean all the time. Elisha always fixes any issues with the machines and handles customers with the best care!! I just a horrible experience at their Layton carwash and wish is could give negative stars. While using the self serve bays I was agressively approached by one of the attendants who told that I should have cleaned my pickup and brushed it out before coming to the carwash because the mud and hay that I washed out would plug their drains. I did blow out the bed of my pickup before going to the carwash which did remove most of the debris but yes there was some trapped in there hence my visit to the Carwash! After I spent nearly $20 (in the self serve bay) and finished my washing I approached the attendant and asked for the owners name and phone number which was not received well. He told me that I was in the wrong and argued that I wouldn't have made that mess at home or at a friends house to which I agreed, THIS is why you go to a Carwash! After getting into a verbal argument with 3 of the attendants (one of them claiming to be a manager), and all of them backing the first I cancelled my membership which was passed over to them from the previous operators (Patriot Car Wash). I've got to say... I don't care if your drains are going to plug, a carwash should have catch basins and oil/grease interceptors to collect these types of debris and they have to be cleaned and maintained periodically, this is the nature of your business. If your drains are plugging then maybe you should look for the true cause of this and update your inadequacy instead of chasing your customers away! I had used this Carwash a lot before it was bought out by shinyshell without issue but I guess they have higher standards as to the kind and amount of dirt they now allow. Look at my photos and decide whether or not you will go over their dirt threshold, I know I have washed dirtier vehicles in the past but am no longer welcome there. I would also like to acknowledge their "director of operations" for taking the time to personally reach out me via telephone and verbally ban me from this carwash facility after my reaching out to their corporate help email (support@shinyshell.com) as is so often suggested in the boilerplate responses to negative reviews here and the rest of their google pages! Believe me after a customer has an experience like I did they are not going to willfully return, there are other carwash's in the immediate area. At this point I have no other option but to let you go ahead and land that last kick on me, I hope you enjoyed it! This really helps me and other customers understand what you truly value and yes, in my opinion it's not your customers. Bottom line... think twice before using this carwash or whether you should continue with a membership. If you have a dirty 4 wheel drive, OHV, work in landscaping, with dirt, with farm animals DO NOT use their bays and please don't make a huge mess like I did. I used to love this car wash, but after a couple months each wash was basically useless. I pay for the most expensive monthly membership, and every time my car comes out as dirty as it went in. I never get the automatic microfiber towel to dry off my car, and I frequently do not get the rubber washers during the wash. I will be canceling my membership and going elsewhere from now on. I have to stop and wipe off my car myself just to get it semi-clean. I shouldn't have to clean my car myself after it just went through a wash. Customer service could be worked on a little better. As a member this is an example of how today's visit went which is normal. Pulled up waited for the sensor-takes longer than other car washes. Without a doubt every time I go through the person guiding me in always has me hit my tires on the rails. They don't always spray the front and back of car. The wash leaves soap on my car after. Could use more air dryers doesn't dry very well. Have to go through a second time waited 5 mins in the members only line for a car to talk to someone in the service line for them to let them through then myself when it could have let me in since their gate wasn't up. I just came here today and when I pulled up to the automated machine to pay, the screen was frozen. I sat there for a couple minutes when a worker could see I was struggling and came over. He said the screen had froze and opened the gate for me to pull forward. When I explained I hadn't paid for anything, he said I was good to go and I got a free car wash! The staff doesn't rinse your car consistently: some do just the front, other front and side, other front and back. Generally they forget the back of the cars. Also, the dryer doesn't dry very well and you can get atill your car with soap. read more

This is the best car wash experience I have ever had! Got the regular wash package for $20 and it cleaned the top chassis well though the undercarriage wash was a bit lacking. However that was made up by the follow up cleaning staging where there is fee vacuuming, air pressure cleaning, and additional solutions for window/general cleaning. read more

I give 3 because Tarence Gelbaugh did a great job getting it running! He now being at West Valley, and someone else is running this location, and could use some improvement . No clean towels for me to dry my car. Low on chemicals and bottles unscrewed enough to leak on hands when spraying at angles, soda area only had 1 cup left and had 2 empty bottles of syrup on display. I saw in the window atleast 3 boys on staff. Finally had a boy bring out maybe 5 towels ? Overall I know this place is new, and I love how they provide you with chemicals to clean your interior and exterior, but those boys need to be more proactive with making sure everything they offer to their guests is replenished often. Went to wash my car yesterday and now there is NO LONGER THE $8.00 CLEAN AND DRY WASH! Cheapest wash is the Deluxe at $12.00! Will be finding another car wash with an entry level wash price. Didn't seem as busy as more folks find this place is now expensive! This will definitely affect their revenues. Whoever made this bone head decision should be fired. The facility is nice and the self serve vacuuming and cleaning is very nice. My experiences have been inconsistent. Here are a few: closes at 6p, vacuums turned off by 6:15, was not open at all one Sunday during normal operating hours, some employees are friendly, one would not utter a word in return after 3 attempts, they do not enforce their own rules about loud music and free vacuum with wash purchase. Today there were 2 filthy cars using the vacuum, cleaner, rags, and mat cleaner. Meanwhile there are cars just out of the wash queued up waiting for an open vacuum area. I couldn't find an employee to notify and there is no way to contact business by phone nor email. read more

I used to go to Mr. Hotshine on 33rd and 20th East because it was close to my house. I think they have gone downhill. They don't provide towels, they only have 4 vacuums and most of the time they don't work so great. I tried out Shiny Shell. What a difference. Towels, great vacuums, air hose for mirrors where water gets trapped, air for your tires, window cleaner and general cleaner sprayers. It was awesome! I will definitely by a monthly pass. A car was PARKED in the car wash and went through several cycles before I tapped my horn. Isaac said rather rudely" If you can't wait you can exit!". The exit was blocked off. When I was finally able to drive up I told Isaac I wanted to speak with his supervisor when I was done. "There ain't no supervisor here". After my wash I went into their office and got the GM's name and number after having to deal with more of his attitude. The other employee ended up giving me his card. This type of behavior should never ever be condoned or justified by any reputable employer. Nor should any employee ever think that they can talk to a paying customer however they want without any type of repercussions for their actions. read more
