We happened upon this place by accident. Super small but pretty good sushi. The waitress was super…read moresweet and food was prompt. The decor lacked some hutzpah but it was so very small it didn't matter to us. Good food!

So my husband and I go to this place thinking we will see the rumored boats. But to our surprise…read morethey no longer have it. I don't know if its because of the change of management but we stayed none the less. We entered and where soon greeted by a very friendly gentleman (who apparently was the owner of the place, his name is Wing Yip) He asked if it was our first time there, he gave us our menus and explained whats popular and so on. He was very patient with us and again super friendly. The place is a bit small and cramped but it has a cozy atmosphere. We ordered some Pork Dumplings, a Veggie Roll and a California Roll. Also on Monday-Fridays they give free miso soup before 2pm which was a plus. When the food arrived it was in a very beautiful presentation and to our surprise it was in a cute boat shaped plate! (I guess they are trying to keep the memory of the boats) The miso soup was delicious. (I guess because its free it didn't have the tofu but thats completely fine with me since its free) The Rolls where really good! (I was a bit surprised with how Good they where to be honest.) We also ordered 2 glasses of the Japanese plum wine and it was amazing, its a very sweet and light white wine and so fruity! All in all the service was more that Great, the staff was super friendly the Owner is seriously the most attentive, friendliest, hardworking manager/owner I've ever met! so props to Wing Yip. This is now one of my fave places to go.

We came here twice. I didn't write a review the 1st time because I wanted to give it another shot…read morebefore i did. Both times were very similar. The place is lively and busy. Both times there was a large group of people at a table celebrating something. The tables were mostly full on a weekday night. . They didn't have mango both times. The staff are very nice. The sushi is ok. The special rolls are not worth the money. the two rolls we got tasted similar because they were smothered in spicy mayo. The tuna & avocado roll and the salmon roll were good. Last time we came, we had the dumplings & they were good. The sushi was not memorable. We noticed the big party next to us ordered Chinese food. It looked good. I think that's what I'd come back for. I definitely would not go out of my way for their sushi here.

Disappointed overall experience…read more I first asked for masago nigiri and was told they didn't have masago. However, when the dishes arrived to other guests...several items clearly had masago on them. It gave me the impression that either they do have it and didn't realize it, or there's a lack of understanding of their own menu. Then I ordered spicy tuna and spicy salmon, expecting a proper spicy mix, but both were simply drenched in mayonnaise with very little flavor balance. That said, what really drove the low rating was the sashimi. I ordered white tuna sashimi and was served a brown-colored piece of fish with an unpleasant smell. At that point, it made me question the freshness and quality of everything else I had eaten. Unfortunately, this experience left me with little confidence in the restaurant.

Vacationing in Rio Grande, Puerto Rico, we had dinner tonight at Nori Asian Grill. We are staying…read moreat the Hyatt Grand Reserve and this is one of their restaurants. We expected good food at such a nice resort but this was so much more! We had the Chicken Tikki Masala and Chicken and Shrimp Pad Thai. Both were so delicious, very authentic tasting, which was surprising having Indian and Asian (I know they share a continent, but are quite different in many ways culturally). Just the right amount of medium spice, and amazing flavor left us wishing we could bring it back to have the leftovers! The service was excellent and the ambiance was very nice with a cool looking bar decor as you enter. My kids also enjoyed their Lo mein dishes so much they left nothing on their plates, which is rare for them The resort is also a wonderful place to vacation, but more about that in their review. If you come to the Hyatt Grand Reserve here in Rio Grande, make a reservation at Nori - you need a reservation as it's popular. It will be a worthwhile experience for your palate ‍

I felt like we ate so much on this trip, so once again when dinner time arrived, I was pretty full…read morefrom our large buffet-style breakfast at this hotel as well as the lunch appetizers that we would snack on that I would always end up selecting a smaller portioned dinner. This meal was no different. There were other dishes on the menu that intrigued me, but I wanted to get an appetizer-sized portion for my meal instead and went with the kakiage vegetable tempura. The tempura was definitely a different take from what I'm normally used to as a standard Japanese vegetable tempura dish, and more of a fusion as my family also felt about their tonkotsu ramen. It was a little weird with the drizzle all over the tempura. What really gives my review the 4-stars is the excellent service we received from our waiter, Anthony, who was very welcoming and personable. We got into a long conversation about his life moving to PR and how he has nicely adapted. He even shared photos of his family with us. What a great way to wrap up another fun day in PR!
