I rarely ever leave reviews, but my wife and I haven't been able to stop raving about how good this place was all night, so I figured that warrants one. Best sushi I've ever had hands down, and I've eaten a lot of sushi in my time! All the fish was so fresh, fatty, and tasty; was not expecting to find such quality sushi like this in Wichita Falls, it's more like something I'd expect in DFW. The nigiri and sushi were so good, and was verrrry surprised at how good the cold dishes were. The restaurant had a very lovely ambiance with a pleasant dining room that was very comfortable despite its smaller size. They had nice lofi music playing that added to the calm, quiet dining experience which made for a great date night, despite the fact the we were passing our four month old back and forth as we ate lol. Also the bathrooms were so pristine and nice and apparently they had heated toilet seats in there as well. The staff were super friendly and just the right amount of attentive. Our waitress filled up our waters, cleared out plates periodically as we emptied them, and came by several times to see if we wanted to place any other orders, which we did several times throughout our meal. She also made great recommendations when we asked her about the menu and her favorites. The happy hour menu was a great deal; we each tried one of each of the nigiri for $3 a piece, and I had a $4 Korean chicken platter and $4 ichiban beer, all of which was around half price compared to their regular menu. The nigiri was a great starter and good sized for the price, was not disappointed with a tiny little piece like I've had at other places. The gochuchang fried chicken was super crispy and tasty and was the perfect pairing with my beer! Then we had the hamachi chili and salmon crudo cold tastings, the latter of which was probably my favorite thing we ordered because their salmon is just that good. These paired super well with the hot green tea we shared! Then we had several of their signature sushi rolls: the rainbow, hamachi garden (my wife's favorite), the salmon sake (my favorite and her close second), and the mt Fuji (my second fav), which is their most expensive roll at only $16.50. The grand total came out to be almost $200 with a good tip because this was our first date night in a long time so we splurged and ordered a ton of food so we could try everything, but overall their prices are extremely fair, and I'd say honestly underpriced considering how quality the food is. You could definitely dine here for under $100 for two people if you didn't stuff yourself till you were about to burst lol. I genuinely hope this place gets the recognition and business it deserves bc I've seen so many closed businesses since I've been in Wichita Falls for work for a few weeks, and this kind of place is definitely better than you'd expect to find in a little town like this one. Read a review about someone that went in alone and couldn't get a seat. Literally 7 vacant tables and 2 spots left at bar. Hostess said sorry can get you in around 8:30, It is Wednesday at 6:30. I mentioned that I read a review where you would not seat 1 person and she said "alright see ya later" . Hard to find entry door also. On an overnight business trip alone. Would not recommend. Shio gives me hope for Wichita Falls. Maybe it's a false hope, but I'm so pleased to have something of great quality and something that isn't fried chicken right here in town. Everyone needs to know about Shio. I felt like I stepped into a portal to DFW. The vibe here is laid back but sophisticated. Simple but upscale design. I *so* appreciate the lack of televisions here. No need to spoil such a beautiful dining experience with screens. Even the restroom is luxurious with *warmed* toilet seats, something I now know I want in my everyday life. The food is outstanding. Every dish is perfectly crafted and presented. We tried many menu items, all excellent and I would order again. A must order for me is the chicken wings. Seriously. Seated right away, service was good. Got a few things to eat. For the appetizer we got the Kaarage this was very tasty! My friend got a Negi Toro Maki and one other dish he really enjoyed what he ordered. I got a Tuna Maki and that was delicious has a bit of green onion with it. It's really a shame. After reading the reviews I was looking forward to coming here. I am new to the area and a big sushi lover. As in I find my spot and go in a lot. Yes it is a Saturday night, but I went in for dinner. I was by myself and was greeted warmly by the hostess. When I said just one she cringed and said I'm sorry our sushi bar is all full. 2 that walked in just before me took the last 2 seats. No worries I said I can sit at a table. She looked straight at me and said no I'm sorry they are all full. 2 feet from us was an empty table. She did not ask for a reservation. Did not say that I can make a reservation. Basically just sorry and stared at me. As I sit out here in the parking lot writing this, 3 different parties of 2 come out of your restaurant. So, I was not offered to wait I was straight up turned away. I guess y'all have enough business and my potential $100 1 top plus tip isn't good enough. Foodies, rejoice! Shio is a surprise gem, we never expected to find such high quality sashimi and rolls and donburi bowls while passing through Wichita Falls. The exacting standard and control of ingredients here are superior, and we applaud the chefs and their team for the overall beautiful dining experience. The service we received from Liz was also warm and gracious, from the welcome to the menu explanations to the overall timing of presenting courses to synch together to create a very comfortable experience. We felt very relaxed but in an upscale, proper dining atmosphere, which provided a beautiful respite for tired travelers. I usually never write reviews but this location 100% deserved it. Everything was perfect from the moment we stepped in. Being from LA and visiting often, my wife and I are huge fans of fresh sushi and this place exceeded our expectations. We ordered the Korean fried chicken, lean tuna, yellowtail, and sweet shrimp nigiri and every piece was so fresh and perfectly crafted. We also got the chirashi bowl and volcano roll. Chirashi bowl was not only incredibly tasting but the chef asked if I had any personal preferences for the dish and he made it even better.
