I've been with this company for the good part of 10 years now and they still treat me like sh*t. They recently merged with another company Speed Commerce, the new platform and setup is a nightmare. They didn't even give me any notice to the switch, just BOOM! "Uh ya we merged with another company." No migration just a rug pull. They deleted my 10 year old customer address book I had with them and have no plans on reinstating it. And there is no new address book available to populate frequent customers, you will have to manually type in every freaking shipment from scratch. The new IT team has completely ghosted me and my current technical issues. SMO has been a lackluster company to work with from the start, their original dashboard was old and outdated from the 80's, they cut a lot of corners, are understaffed, will increase prices regularly, and will overcharge you regularly. Let me start with what you really want to know. Yes, Ship My Orders is the only fulfillment company that you should hire as your shipping partner. Take it from somebody that has been in business since 1999 and gone through more shipping facilities than I even want to remember....from smaller, family-run operations to the largest in the country. If I could give them more than 5 Stars, I would, without hesitation. Here's why... Customer Service: Straight up excellence on every level, no matter who you are dealing with. When you interact with SMO, from the initial inquiry to the set-up process and any questions or issues you have once the account is up and running, you can bank on timely, thorough, friendly (imagine that!) communication. It obviously starts at the top with David, Diana and Heather and trickles down to everyone I have ever dealt with here. Every, single, time! Misty, Jennifer and Rachel are the best CS reps I've worked with....always solution-focused and great at what they do. Shipping: It's awesome that everyone is efficient and friendly, but if the packages aren't being shipped accurately and on time your customers will be livid and you might as well invest in whatever company makes your favorite headache medicine. Check and check. Not only have they been virtually flawless (pun intended), but they send your customers tracking automatically and I haven't had a single package miss a deadline or be sent the wrong way. Technology: I see you Luis! I am not a tech wizard but thankfully they are. Everything is automated from pulling orders down from our various selling platforms and websites, fully customized packing materials and tracking emails, a website portal that absolutely kicks ass where you can see real time orders, inventory and tracking 24/7 to automatically uploading tracking directly to various seller platforms. Just think about that for a minute. Once you get everything set up properly you will have nothing to do manually when it comes to fulfillment. And Denise will work tirelessly (and with a smile) to make sure that your account is perfect when you flip the switch....she's exceptional. Pricing: The most reasonable rates I've found in almost two decades in business and the billing is as utterly transparent as it gets. No surprise charges like you get with a lot of other companies. And when you consider the service and technology you have access to at SMO you might want to check into getting therapy if you decide to go somewhere else. Bottom Line: As a business owner, you want a fulfillment house that allows you to basically forget about fulfillment and let you aggressively focus on marketing, customer service, product development etc. You also want to feel comfortable growing your business without concern or fear that significantly increasing your volume and sales will cause you a ton of customer service problems because shipments are not going out correctly and on time, every day. On boarding process was very easy and required very little commitment. Since then we have been consistently impressed with ShipMyOrder. Great and I mean GREAT customer service. Process is very smooth and we have had no problems. They have allowed us to focus on other parts of the business. They say they are basically your shipping department and that is 100% the case. We have been using Ship My Orders (SMO) for our fulfillment service on the West coast for over 2 years. Our West coast fulfillment service *prior to SMO*, messed up orders (eg sent orders out ground instead of expedited- when they were needed by a customer for a job), overcharged us, did not provide 'detail' on their invoices to us, and were going to overcharge us on 'storage' if we didn't move to a new fulfillment center. Additionally, it was difficult to know what we had in inventory at any one time. Since we have been with SMO - our West coast shipping is pretty much *'lights out'* for us, as we have both our shopping cart and our Amazon store orders automated to directly feed into SMO. I mention our West Coast warehouse, as we also have an East coast warehouse (we want to provide fast ground shipping to most of our customers and 2 warehouses, while more complex to manage inventory allows us to ship ground in 2-3 days in most of the continental US). Saying that, we are on our '2nd' warehouse on the East coast - the first one suddenly went out of business in Jan 2010, and we had to quickly find an alternative which we did in TN. Our TN warehouse, has 'some automation' but is not at the level that SMO is - so I have to do some parts of our order processing manually for the TN warehouse. So saying all the above, we have had a total of 4 warehouses, 2 in the past (both were disasters), and the 2 current warehouses, one being SMO. SMO far exceeds my expectations in all ways. We have online access easily to 1) current orders (that I can enter online, or automatically through a datafeed) 2) current inventory 3) We get my tracking numbers nightly - as well as have online access to them. 4) we get my invoices weekly that are detailed including all costs per order (box charges, customs charges order charges) and tracking number -- so for POs that I have to invoice, I quickly have all the shipping charges to be able to invoice my customers and do not have to wait for a monthly bill (where in my first 2 warehouses had incomplete information for me to use) Additionally we have small 'strange' requests from time to time, and SMO readily works with us to help out at a small admin fee. They also have support for taking phone orders and a call center, which so far we haven't used but are looking into when we winter outside the US for a few months. We send a 'few' orders internationally -- and we only send USPS Priority Int'l Mail (6-10 business days) as there is no broker duty at the receiving end as there is with FedEx, UPS and DHL -- the shipper broker fee is an unexpected charge to our customers. Only the customs duty is charged on USPS Priority Mail orders. Also USPS has a shipping table for real time shipping calculations that we can use in our shopping cart. For our Amazon store, we only ship in the US, as Amazon has not provided us an accurate method of calculating the shipping to Canada or outside the US. SMO 'easily' processes all our International orders -- and again, I can enter these online through a form, or automatically send in via a datafeed from our shopping cart. Our current 2 fulfillment centers are both owned and operated by SMO in Las Vegas, NV (since 2009) and in Nashville, TN (since 2014). SMO far exceeds my expectations in all ways. Support: 1) online access to all orders, current and shipped (that I can enter online, or automatically send through a datafeed) 2) online access to current inventory, by distribution center (Las Vegas or Nashville) 3) I get my tracking numbers nightly - as well as have online access to them. 4) Our shopping cart customers automatically get emailed their tracking number at the end of the day. 5) Our Amazon orders are automatically processed from start to finish from SMO. 6) I get my invoices weekly that are detailed including all costs per order (box charges, customs charges, order charges) and tracking number making it very easy for me to categorize my cost of goods into quickbooks to easily know how much or how little, I'm spending for fulfillment. 7) SMO receives and inspects returns to determine if product is defective or in new and unused condition. 8) I receive about 1 shipment every 2 months from our manufacturers, that goes directly from LA Customs via our freight forwarder to the NV warehouse, where I can easily see how much inventory is in either TN or NV, and then arrange shipping for SKUs as necessary to the TN warehouse, often by a truckload including products of other SMO customers, keeping costs down.
