We recently moved an hour away from the car wash and had a billing issue with being charged monthly, even though I thought I had canceled it back several months ago. The general manager, Tony (and employee Mike prior to speaking with Tony) were both EXTREMELY helpful and VERY patient with me and my situation. i explained we had moved an hour away and wouldn't be using them anymore. Even though they knew it would be unusual for us to do business with them in the future because of the logistics, they both were incredibly helpful!!! I decided upon North Star Car Wash (about 25 minutes from home) because of the 12 reviews/ all 5 stars/ emphasis upon " great thorough hand wash" and "great value ( Deluxe wash $20)". 1.Right off 694 and not far from 35W. VERY easy commute. 2. Appears like a small family Hispanic operation of EXTREMELY hard hard fast thorough workers 3. Starts with a high pressure soap blaster handled by the female owner along with a fellow furiously scrubbing the car with a long handled soap dispensing 12 inch wide brush. 4. You remain in the car Neutral, and the top massive huge moving brush/ mop ( with wide thick fabric pieces) most thoroughly scrubs the car top and top sides ( rare in car washes) while side brushes simultaneously hit the car sides. Very GOOD scrub. 5. Next I liked the thorough rinse then the MANY powerful air blasters ( more than normal) drying the car 6. Two fellows at the end RAPIDLY and so thoroughly hand wiped the car dry. 7. I was MOST thrilled by the TOP quality rare beautiful wax shine on my car. With a black car, I have always always sought out top quality wax for my car. Very excellent!! The entire staff kept up a consistent very high level of intense energy/ super hard efforts working on my car. They definitely go home each night wiped out! However, the interior cleaning was amazing, especially for $60ish. Sure, you can probably get a slightly better deep cleaning at a detailing service, but that will cost you $200 or more. For $60, they vacuumed everywhere, cleaned all of the seats and dashes, and made the floor mats look spotless. It was a complete transformation. And it all only took about 45 minutes (there's a great coffee shop a couple blocks away, look at my reviews for info about that while you wait). If you are looking for a great value interior car cleaning, this is your spot!

Fully stocked with soap, wax, etc. I've never paid and only been able to get water. Tuesdays they run a $.50 special. The time limit is a little lower but you can still get in a decent wash on a car-pick up truck for around $2.00-2.50. There is also a touchless car wash bay if you don't want to was yourself. I've never used it so not sure how great it works. Every car I've seen come out of it looks well washed.

I had a terrible experience at Tommy's Car Wash last week, and what happened afterward was even…read moremore disappointing. Anyone who has been to Tommy's knows they use large red guide balls to help align your vehicle onto the conveyor belt. I carefully drove between those guide balls, and my car is brand new. If I had hit them, my vehicle's sensors would have immediately alerted me, but there were no warnings, no contact, and no marks on the vehicle. Once I was on the belt and placed the car in neutral as instructed, I suddenly heard a loud thud. Because the belt keeps moving the vehicle, I couldn't see what was happening. A young employee came out and told me to reverse, but offered no explanation. Another employee was called over, and they had me move the car forward, backward, left, and right without providing any information about what was going on. I was sitting there worried about my vehicle while nobody seemed interested in explaining the situation. Eventually, they called a manager. In order to get my car off the track, they actually had to move the red guide balls so that my vehicle could be backed out straight. To me, that raises serious questions about whether the alignment system itself was positioned correctly. After filing a claim, I received an email stating that my claim was denied because I allegedly failed to align the vehicle properly. What makes this especially frustrating is that when I spoke with the claims representative, he agreed that if I successfully made it through the guide balls, the vehicle should have been properly aligned. However, when I asked how it could still be my fault, he suggested that I may have somehow pushed the guide balls out of position. There are no marks on my vehicle to support that claim. When I requested the video footage that supposedly supports their conclusion, they refused to provide it. I explained that the damage to my nearly new vehicle could cost thousands of dollars to repair, and instead of showing any concern, the representative told me to "go ahead" when I mentioned seeking legal counsel. To make matters worse, while I was still trying to ask questions and understand their reasoning, the representative abruptly hung up on me. That level of disrespect and lack of professionalism was shocking. What disappointed me most was not just the incident itself, but the complete lack of transparency, accountability, and customer care throughout the process. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend Tommy's Car Wash. If something goes wrong, don't expect them to take responsibility or even treat you with basic courtesy.
